well, you certainly don't need a whole new gearbox. just replace the piston.

im just doing some small upgrades on mine. mosfet, piston, ballbearings, hop up rubber and that is about it. i wouldnt spent too much on this rifle. from what i read, spending more than a moderate upgrade on this doesnt bring that much more performance. forget making it a sniper. cqb is it's realm really.

You're supposed to shim the gearbox with the case closed and the screws in and tightened. Otherwise you are doing nothing.

And you have to shim each gear individually

Yes. I dont put the screws in and I still have fine results.

To make the video I didnt do what i usually do with shimming for the sake of a good looking cideo.

You really should though. Try spinning the gears with just the case closed; they spin fine. Then tighten the screws; the gears bind or don't spin smoothly. It makes a HUGE difference and one cannot shim properly if the case is not screwed together.
