I suspect the Muslim scholars in which you speak of receive a lot of respect form the under-educated mass of the populace. If there are in fact many highly respected Muslim scholars against the supposed jihad, why can't they squash it instead of allowing it to happen? If I were you I would seriously read the Tafsir you have given regarding the Roman Byzantines again, your tafsir (written by Ibn Kathir) actually says that Mohammad had ordered his men to raid the Byzantines because they were unbelievers, no that the Byzantines were the instigators. How come still no answer or explanation on what is a dhimmi, or jizya, or Sura 9:29 , and how much a woman's witness statement is worth in the Islamic law compared to a man? Why not answer the difficult questions, instead of just saying "that's interesting, but it's FALSE" without real explanation.
Jizya is a tax for non-muslims in a muslim state that is lower than the tax for the muslims. So a non-muslim is supposed to pay less tax in an islamic state :).

Every muslim and non-muslim scholar knows, as you surely do, that the later verses abrogate the earlier ones. The famous Sura 2.256 ("Let there be no compulsion in religion;") is rendered null and void by the later Sura 9.5 ("Slay the idolaters wherever you find them,")
From Sura 5 onwards there is abrogation of over a hundred earlier peaceful verses.
The sura you quote, 16.25 ("Call to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and argue with them in the best manner.") is abrogated time and time again, especially by what happens to Mohammed's uncle, who refused to accept Islam, in Sura 111.1-5 (""May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! Nothing shall his wealth and gains avail him. He shall be burnt in a flaming fire, and his wife, laden with firewood, shall have a rope of fiber around her neck!")
"Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."
The full verse establishes total confirmation of the concept of spreading Islam by "the sword". The key word being, "IF". "...if they repent and ESTABLISH WORSHIP and pay the poor due, then leave their way free."
There is no choice for the "idolaters", if they wish to stay alive, other than renouncing their own identities/beliefs to become muslims and relinquishing their money to Mohammed.
"And if anyone of the idolaters seeketh thy protection (O Muhammad), then protect him so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and afterward convey him to his place of safety. That is because they are a folk who know not."
Verse 6, which continues directly after the "IF they repent..." verse, only continues to illustrate how Allah expects Mohammed to treat his new 'converts' IF they "repent". By verse 13/14 Mohammed has been instructed in his course of action if the 'converted' idolaters "please you with their mouths, but their hearts refuse/if they break faith with you after their treaty, and taunt your religion". As you probably know, Allah commands Mohammed to... "Kill them."
That Surah's got a lot of context behind, which u need to know, before you can really make sense out of it.
Its talking about when the idolaters didnt keep their oaths, treaties, and kicked the Muslims out,(If they stayed, they would be killed) of their own homes, so all the Muslims are being told here is to protect their homes, and their rights; Get back wat was wrongly taken from them, and this was AFTER the treaty had been broken SEVERAL times. You dont think thats fair?
So could you explain the legal and cultural application of this surah in a modern "context". As in Sharia Law where apostasy is STILL punishable by death?
"Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loves not aggressors. (190) And slay them wherever u find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove u out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. And fight not with them at the Inviolable Place of Worship until they first attack you there, but if they attack you, then slay them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (191) But if they desist, then lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

Secondly, I want to note that mr. Spencer's books are not mainly about terrorism or bin Laden. They're quite strictly about Quran, the hadith and the interpretations and teachings of various muslim scholars and schools of jurisprudence throughout the 1400 history of islam.
I really challenge you to take a in-depth look into them.
Maybe you should read some of mr. Spencer's books. How can you actually "refute" his statements, when you don't know what kind of literal material and sources he uses to back them up? And quite clearly, probably unintentionally, you misunderstood many of the things he said.
And then the usual "anti-muslim bigotry" part. Get over it, there's no such thing in Spencer's studies. It would be a good idea to get to know where he really stands before making a "REFUTED" -video.
I have failed to see spencer do anything but state facts. He can back each of them up by passages from the koran and hadith, which is why no islamic scholar will debate him. Can you back up the accusations you have just made?
Yet there is, in large part, no public denunciation of the actions of these Islamic extremists. If the extremists truelly are a small, unrepsected, minority within Islamic states, why are they not being exposed en masse? Why aren't good, respectable Muslims dragging these extremists through the streets and making examples of them? Furthermore, there are more than 1 billion Muslims in the world. If just 10% of these Muslims are extremists, that's millions and millions of American soldier killers!

The dhimmitude is not an arabic work, neither present in the QORAN nor in the Sunaa. The meaning here is about Djyzia, which is a Symbolic taxe paid by non muslim only on war condition if they seek protection. The Muslims have to pay a much bigger part Zaket (2.5%/ year). Also during the Ottoman end of era, it has been found that non muslims were prospering in muslim land because of financial lack of participation in the muslim administration.

I suspect the Muslim scholars in which you speak of receive a lot of respect form the under-educated mass of the populace. If there are in fact many highly respected Muslim scholars against the supposed jihad, why can't they squash it instead of allowing it to happen? You know Ibn Ishaq is not counted as a reliable source? Many Scholars of the past said much of what he presented as history was in accurate. Its interesting that the Quran say Muhammad should'nt worry about those that reject the message or mock him. The Quran gives no command to harm them (Quran 15:95, Quran 16:101,102, Quran 33:48). Yet Ishaq tells us different. And Bins Ladens expertise is in construction and building.

Yes I do know that but Ibn Ishaq mentions many historical events in Islamic history, the poets that incited their followers to harm Muhammads tribe as well as the Banu Qurayza, they are mentioned briefly in the Quran. Of course Muhammad saw didn't kill young girls, im just quoting that the book says he did. Please supply, specifically, rulings by jurists from any of the recognized Sunni or Shiite madhahib, declaring that jihad is not to be waged against unbelievers in order to bring them under the authority of Sharia, but rather that non-Muslims and Muslims are to coexist peacefully as equals under the law on an indefinite basis, even when the law of the land is not Sharia. Not all ,critise all you want, just be fair and honest about it. The grounds we use to identify a real islamic scholar or real anything is the evidence and proof. I presented information to refute Spencer and support my claims with the top source of Islamic info and that is the Quran and the sunnah is second. I used both to show he is wrong and this is how we judge and determine who is right or wrong.

Jizya is a tax for non-muslims in a muslim state that is lower than the tax for the muslims. So a non-muslim is supposed to pay less tax in an islamic state :).

Every muslim and non-muslim scholar knows, as you surely do, that the later verses abrogate the earlier ones. The famous Sura 2.256 ("Let there be no compulsion in religion;") is rendered null and void by the later Sura 9.5 ("Slay the idolaters wherever you find them,")
From Sura 5 onwards there is abrogation of over a hundred earlier peaceful verses.

The sura you quote, 16.25 ("Call to the way of thy Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and argue with them in the best manner.") is abrogated time and time again, especially by what happens to Mohammed's uncle, who refused to accept Islam, in Sura 111.1-5 (""May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! Nothing shall his wealth and gains avail him. He shall be burnt in a flaming fire, and his wife, laden with firewood, shall have a rope of fiber around her neck!")

The full verse establishes total confirmation of the concept of spreading Islam by "the sword". The key word being, "IF". "...if they repent and ESTABLISH WORSHIP and pay the poor due, then leave their way free."
There is no choice for the "idolaters", if they wish to stay alive, other than renouncing their own identities/beliefs to become muslims and relinquishing their money to Mohammed.

Verse 6, which continues directly after the "IF they repent..." verse, only continues to illustrate how Allah expects Mohammed to treat his new 'converts' IF they "repent". By verse 13/14 Mohammed has been instructed in his course of action if the 'converted' idolaters "please you with their mouths, but their hearts refuse/if they break faith with you after their treaty, and taunt your religion". As you probably know, Allah commands Mohammed to... "Kill them."

That Surah's got a lot of context behind, which u need to know, before you can really make sense out of it.
Its talking about when the idolaters didnt keep their oaths, treaties, and kicked the Muslims out,(If they stayed, they would be killed) of their own homes, so all the Muslims are being told here is to protect their homes, and their rights; Get back wat was wrongly taken from them, and this was AFTER the treaty had been broken SEVERAL times. You dont think thats fair?

And then the usual "anti-muslim bigotry" part. Get over it, there's no such thing in Spencer's studies. It would be a good idea to get to know where he really stands before making a "REFUTED" -video.

I have failed to see spencer do anything but state facts. He can back each of them up by passages from the koran and hadith, which is why no islamic scholar will debate him. Can you back up the accusations you have just made?

Yet there is, in large part, no public denunciation of the actions of these Islamic extremists. If the extremists truelly are a small, unrepsected, minority within Islamic states, why are they not being exposed en masse? Why aren't good, respectable Muslims dragging these extremists through the streets and making examples of them? Furthermore, there are more than 1 billion Muslims in the world. If just 10% of these Muslims are extremists, that's millions and millions of American soldier killers!

AAmed1980, Allah is the Muslim God and Yahweh is the Judeochirstian God.
All Muslims are welcome to believe that Allah is the only true God. There are a million religions on the face of the earth and every man believes his God is "the God". Now that does not mean that they are all same as Yahweh.
No Christian or Jew claims that Yahweh is Allah, and Allah does not become Yahweh just because Muslims believe so.
Maybe Yahweh is not the true God, maybe Allah is. In any case Yahweh is NOT Allah.
