Great informative video. I own a C9 that I got pretty cheap because it was jamming and happened to notice the magazine had been dropped and the "lips" were bent in too far. This fix helped it greatly. Only complaint with the Video is my eyes aren't quite what they used to be so a little bright background light would be a good addition. Other than that two thumbs up !
i have the hi point .380 and after shooting around 200 rounds i am now starting to have problems with the next rounds not wanting to feed right and i have to tap the rear of the slide to make it feed. All of my rounds were the FMJ winchesters, but this last time i bought the Federal Ammunition FMJ's...so not sure if its the ammo, the clip, or the ramp
Thanks was helpful but need to see in focus with lighting close up. Very long but did not focus on the actual bending of the mag. Also referencing before-after with calipers would also help greatly. Also what caused the fail to eject? Was it dirt, cheap cartridges, ejector?
Thanks for the informaiton. Parts of the video were a little difficult to see due to lighting and tight camera work but, you got your point across and were definitely a help in making my C9 better. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Thanks again! It's appreciated.
Theseguns are shit! Point blank, i have one and every since my girlfriend broke my magazine, and i had to purchase an extended magazine, now it jams. But it shoots perfect as long as you use the ORIGINAL magazine... And if u have an extended magazine, dont put more than 8 in there, but 7 is perfect bekuz the spring in the magazine isnt forcing the bullets to point the wrong way
I fired 100 rounds of Academy's cheap Monarch 115 grain through my C9 for the first time today. Absolutely no failure to feed or eject. I recommend breaking in the stock magazine by leaving it loaded a week before discharging a new C9. I didn't have to tune the magazine at the range today nor did I polish the feeding ramp. Just make sure to break in the magazine and lube the C9. Very affordable and reliable 9mm. Very happy with my C9!
GREAT little handgun for the money.Just purchased one NEW for $129.99 plus tax as my Christmas gift(2011)from my wife.PERFECT gun for home protection weapon.Teaching my wife how to be comfortable with & how to shoot a handgun.Hoping she will learn too LOVE shooting & will feel comfortable enough that she wants to get her CWP for her protection when I'm NOT around! Thanks for the videos on the HIGH POINT C-9 & keep up the GREAT work.
what is your opinion on using engine assembly lube or graphite on the feed ramp? I just purchased a new c9, havent shot it yet but when i got home I did rack a full clip and found I had no problems except with the last round encountering nose dive. Also i have found that you really have to slap the mag in or it wont seat. You seem to know your shit, and as this gun is new, any suggestion for the break in period?
I guess I should watch your breakdown video first ...but I find it difficult to remove the slide pin on mine. Any suggestions? BTW ...I subbed and friend requested you.
is it just me or is it the c9 has all the issues for hi point.. i have a 380 which is the same frame and blah blah even same magazines a buddy of mine has a 380 as well just like it and it's flawless and he also has a c9 and it misfeeds like your talking about ( don't get it )
your video is very informative but the lighting is horrible. i could really use some good lighting so that i could see exactly what your tuned mags look like because I have a failure to feed on one of my mags when it's full with 8 rounds
Just shot my c9 for the first time this weekend, and every time I shot it the first two/three rounds would nose dive. I drop the mag, reset the round tip up, then it would be fine.
Could this be from a stiff magazine spring, or am i not loading the rounds in right?
@guntorturetests hey thanks i was so mad that was getting these FTE's and jams left and right. The mag was sure nuff the only thing i needed to adjust. Hey do me a favor find out why exactly high point makes a good gun but crappy mags im subscribing to you I look forward to an aswer.
Just bought a nickel plated C9 (yes, they exist). I got it as a knock around weapon for target shooting and the like. It's not an expensive weapon, and I know what I got when I bought it. It's also by no means a cheap piece of junk. Thanks for the video, and I plan to do what you explained so I won't have any issues. Thanks for the video!
Good video, like was said before you need to move the lighting between you and the camera. Watched this video & others on the feed ramp/mag mods, I use the auto/wet/dry sandpaper, did improve the FTF issue . I also try to run the 124 gr ammo now also.
The C9 did not have a problem with failing to eject in the match the other day. I bet what was happening was that the slide was hitting the soft baffles as you were shooting it. Thus slowing down the slide and interfering with it extracting/ejecting with the needed velocity. I suggest trying it again with this in mind and seeing how 4506 performs. I have a feeling that your channel will be a lot as informative as it is entertaining, keep it up.
You sure those were FTEs, and you didn't just load 6 rounds per mag instead of 5? Seems odd for it to FTE at the end of both mags in a row, but not anywhere during the firing.
Yeah. What happened on both mags is that I pulled my hand back just far enough for the slide to hit the trap cover, screwing up the momentum, and causing the FTE's. When it happened on the first one, I said to myself "Make sure you don't do that again."
@guntorturetests completely irrelevant to this firearm but has anybody told you that your beard is glorious? If not then yes sir your beard is glorious.

@ishtech101 Don't rack rounds in the house. The firing pin can fire it inadvertantly.

@idRATHERbeOUTDOORS Oil the mag up for starters. If that doesn't solve it, tweak the mag lips a bit. If THAT doesn't solve it, polish the ramp.

@guntorturetests Thanks I will try that, secondly how fine of sand paper should I use for polishing? Is wet/dry too fine?

Ya people love to bash them, And if you defend them suddenly you're some sort of HP fan boy freak.
For the money hey, not everyone can afford 3,4,500 dollars for a Ruger,Smith,Beretta or Glock.
Even poor folks deserve something to defend them selves, Thumbs up man.
