I saw this at a local film festival about two years ago. I remember seeing the trailer, and thinking it looked so interesting, but I was disappointed by the film. I do want to see it again though, as I was only 14 when I saw it. I may not have understood. I love the song in this though, especially the beginning, without the singing. Very mysterious.
I could also be interested in this again because I've recently taken up an obsession with scarecrows hahah.
Well, as it says in the description, you can order a copy via the website - though with a glowing endorsement like "disappointed", I'm not sure it would be worth it to you. ;)
It's not for everyone, that's for sure. I know at least some people have found it enjoyable though.
Okay, I'm only vaguely remembering my research here, but I think the vocals are an old Okinawan lullaby, and the music itself may be a cover of Chopin's Waltz in A-Minor. I'm not positive on either of these things, but I hope that helps!
Thanks... yes, Shiina Ringo is one of my favorites. The music video was made just for the film & is a fictional group. It's a bit of a Jpop parody, and is also on Youtube. Mayumi Kaneyuki did the vocals.
is it supposed to be scary

@LilMurraySparkles Not really. It's a drama with spooky elements.

Like I said, I was only fourteen when I saw it. It's a very deep idea, I probobly misunderstood. I'll give it another shot :)

Methinks we have a latter-day Hitchcock on our hands. Creepy, hOOhah, and polished. I like!

A parody? A good one at that. I'll search for it.

What's the title of the video? ;^_^ I searched for 'Mayumi Kaneyuki' and didn't find it.

It's called "Shock". Try shock + jpop. Searching for Mayumi worked for me, oddly enough. You can find it in my channel if all else fails. :) Enjoy!
