I'll tell you the one big disagreement I have in your review. You state the game is too random, my version doesn't seem random enough. Its quite clear that to score goals you have to put it at certain tactics. Your team that can score at will playing an contain tactic can't handle won't score if told to attack.

Though I do argee, that FM2010 expect you the player to know exactly what your doing right and wrong and if you don't there is little you can do about it.

the problem is the emergent nature of the game engine. there's no way you can make a controllable and predictable "game" , and you'll always have the sense that things are happening randomly. i guess there are shitloads of programmer hacks in the engine to fudge things to give the player the impression that he has some control. but its all surley just an illusion. there's no way you can genuinely play a game with such a vast array of variables.

in other words, FM fans are suckers! :)

If you want players who can score day in day out you play FIFA, if you want to get frustrated because your star striker who scored a hattrick in the previous game couldn't score against the bottom side of the league [think Torres] you play FM
