This touches my soul so much. I have a 13 year old Autistic Grandson. He is in a home with other autistic young men. I miss him so much my heart hurts. Just as Jett, he is beautiful and intelligent. And the most loving young man ive known. Bless you to the Travoltas. And remember 1-150 children born are autistic. Wipe it out in their lifetime. Don't let it get out of control. Get help!

It's so sad that John's son Jett had autism, but that it went untreated and even unacknowledged because Scientology does not recognize autism. Jett Travolta did not have to die. If he was placed in proper care, he would still be alive today. Neighbors of John in Florida had previously raised their concerns about Jett's neglect. It's very sad and tragic that their heeds were ignored. For all of the Travoltas' suffering right now, it does not compare with Jett being dead.

Autism can be treated but not cured. I don't think Jett was neglected. He had two nannies and was homeschooled. I don't have the money to do that for my austistic son. My son has been on different meds. Some helped. Some didn't. We weren't given a choice. We were forced to medicate our son - heavily at times - by the public school system and Social Services. I applaud the Travoltas for doing what they thought was right for their son.

Parents of special needs children are second guessed and judged harshly by everyone. People need to leave the Travoltas alone. Sometimes people, even children, just die. It doesn't mean that miracle drugs were withheld or neglect occurred. They had the resources to give Jett what he needed. It was different from what some of us would do, but they don't deserve the ugly, ugly press they've received.

I can say this I have a dog for my son and now a second dog it cost me water and food for him..and even in the shower they go! They go everywhere with a heart problem/blood they knew not to fly..and they knew to get a sitter for the shower and attend at all times but in the bahamas its different there no need for no nothing meds if no meds get a dog
