woow i love it when wolves howl, i have them in the forest and moutain range where i live and sometimes it scares me to death becasue the howling is so forlonr but a lot of the ties its beautiful like a chorus

They don't howl if they kill. They are have a howl-along if you will. A big ceremonious howling of greeting, celebration, or sorrow

we were out hunting one morning and heard a pack of probably 10 to 15 howling no less than a thousand feet from us.

Wow! Something's going on that's got them excited...wonder what it was. Some people can tell if howls are excited or sad if they work with them I think.
That must have been pretty amazing to hear. I haven't ever heard a wolf howl in person before. So that pack lives pretty close to your house (or whoever's house that was) then?
