Posey was always such a drama queen douche bag. I'm really surprised ABC thought that is what we needed to enjoy the races. At any rate, looking back on this type of coverage now brings a sense of nostalgia. Not for the coverage, but for those days of spending hours in the saddle, when we were new to the road bike.

Posey was a douche bag. I was so shocked when I saw this instead of the CBS show. "THE RIDERS NEED TO PEDAL FASTER AND FASTER. THE RIDER WHO PEDALS THE FASTEST WINS." Posey cira 89. I know what your talking about, got into cycling in 1986 at 14 me and my friends would watch the tour or Roubaix and have our own mini Tours all over LA. We were on our bikes for hours in the summer

AAARRRGH: 1989, the year that ABC took over cycling coverage from CBS and made us listen to Sam Posey while Phil Liggett presumably swept the floor.

I wrote ABC and swore my brains out at them after the 1989 Tour de France coverage.
I called Sam Posey every name in the book, and was so angry at Phil Liggett being relegated to a 3rd string commentator
