  • I wish that they still made washing up liquid bottles like this instead of those bulky transparent ugly looking ones.

  • I think Jean Campbell embassy artist sang on one of these ads? 1926-2003.

  • I used to use this stuff to degrease engine components ! Not sure how good it is for your hands tho !

  • @jumpdance24 It'sgood in cement, too!

  • thats a nice advert.. watched it when i was young... p.s. to much washing up liquid on your hands causes dermatitis!!!! true... so dont use it on your arse...

  • I actually have to sing the theme tune for a performancy thing I was wondering wot the tune was..... And now I no, thank you

  • GREAT ADS , the old style fairy bottle is back on the shelves to commemorate 50th anniversary BUT the bottle is not a true replica as the baby has been left off the red stopper, i guess nostalgia aint what it used to be.

  • She sounds just like Mary Poppins.

  • Old joke I know has as it's pubchline : "Now Hans that wash dishes, don't be soft eat your plaice not my green hairly-lip squid.". Comment box to small to put in the entire joke, but you should be able to piece it together.

  • I would buy this soap just because I love the name.

  • Simon Le Bon who was in boy band Duran Duran was the boy whose shirt wasn't as white as his schoolmates in the Daz ad - and the boy pushing his bicycle up the hill in the Hovis advert eventually drummed for rock band All About Eve...such are rock roots!

  • yep, all our mums cut our bangs (fringes) short like that, remember folks??? tutt, it's all dishwashers these days...but BY JOVE..what do you say we all start speaking proper queens english again...love this old stuff, thanks so much

  • Vintage means "from the vine" because something is old does not make it vintage.

  • Hahaha.

  • Thanks TVT you've got some brilliant vids - really roll back the years!

  • The kids voices were dubbed over by an adult talking like a kid. Not many people really spoke with the BBC English accent but it was expected on TV. By the late 60s that all changed. Also not many other ethnicities were represented because there wasn't that many minorities in England back then. That too changed in time to reflect a truer cross section of English people. These old ads are almost hypnotic. Thanks for posting them!

  • dude, how do you know this shit? lol take me to your leader =P

  • no ehnics in the ads in those days, no such thing as political correctness back then.

  • WOW - didnt everyone have posh voices in those days?!!! even the children. I dont remember it the same at my house!!!
