I need help BIG TIME!!! I have chroma keyed everything in my film correctly and it looks great! I have a title that is sitting on top of a green background that I chroma'd out. However for some reason when I render the filter. the green all comes back and the chroma no longer works all I see is my title with a green background. I can no longer see my layer shot underneath. Any ideas??? It seems like some kind of stupid Final Cut BUG, to me!!! but I can't fix it??? Please Help!!!
after effects is awesome for certian things i agree but your comment about windows movie maker was very wrong. i wouldnt compare after effects to FCP as i use them for different things
Question: After keying out the green, is there a way to make a clip in FCP that has the green permanently removed? I'd like to do additional work in Photoshop and still maintain the transparency of the clip. Every time I try this, the clip ends up with a solid color background. Thanks!
y are you guys wasting your time on this?? final cut is fore noobs. adobe after effects is fucking better than this shit.this movie editing shit has no timeline. better off using windows movie maker. final cut comes in this little windows that you have to put together. don't know how he got a timeline..... pease of shit
Hey is lighting a big deal when your shooting someone on green screen? Might be a dumb question but i was just wondering because I'm just starting out as a filmmaker and was just wondering.
Sweet chroma key tutorial. I got a green screen gut it's not that bright so I need some good lighting. I'm working on a cloning video and i need to chroma key out the background due to crop line shadows. Anyhow, thanks for the tip, man
That's one beautifully vibrant & perfect lit green screen, how much was the total cost for the lighting and green screen? My green screen sucks balls, the color is all drained out..
@Bonehyah Check out my channel. I have lots of tutorials online on my website and my channel! Good luck! Tubetape is also awesome because they offer lots of free training on their site!
I am looking into buying Final Cut. I do (or want) do a lot of green screen work! I don't have very much money to spend. I can only afford Final Cut Express. Will it have all the same functionality of Pro? I don't really get the difference. I see the difference between those and Final Cut Pro Studio. Could anybody please help?
Hey this video was very helpful but I have a question. I am trying to use a background that I need to make a different size for it to fit properly. If I adjust it to 100% and then move it from side to side I can get it how I want it but then it changes back to its original state when I put it in the time line. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for the help
@xdragonfight The background needs to be a solid color that is completely different from your subject. Green is usually chosen as the background color because the camera translates the color well into editing software & it's far from skin tone.
@xdragonfight not necessarily, i've keyed the sky away from a c-130 but best results are when you use a green screen or blue screen, and the subject does not wear the same color as the key color.
@2482310576 Most video editing software has a chromakey tool or something similar. FXhome's Composite Lab Pro is designed specifically for keying out a green screen. Adobe After Effects is pretty powerful as well.
@2482310576 This was made this Final Cut Pro 7 but the versions do not matter much for Chromakey in FCP because it is the same steps for other versions also.
@pichopacho4 yes but adobe after effects has no keylight. you can download the plugin but it cost money. cs5 sucks but cs4 or cs3 is better because it came with keylight
If you need something for Windows, you've got a lot of choices from relatively inexpensive (Sony Vegas Platinum) to more expensive (After Effects). We have a keying in After Effects tutorial also :)
Great video! I do miss some details about the other settings and what they will do to the keying, because the video used is a "best case scenario" when keying out the green.
One of the best tutorial on chroma-key for Final Cut Pro on Youtube. Thanks for the help, my projects never looked better.

How do you save it when you are done.. The end result is to make it into a FLV with transparency.
