Big Sur sucks for surfing. It is never worth the trouble to drive to Big Sur for surf. All of your breaks there are fickle, and dangerous. LOTS of sharks, and hostile locals. I'll pass.
Better Surf can ALWAYS be found in Santa Cruz, Malibu or Santa Barbara.
