  • @ALBANO2684 True, but that doesn't change the fact that you felt offended.

By the way, if I said that is because the only time I saw them marching, they looked like shit. That's whay they have to be very carefully while wearing the uniform.

Someone don't just do shit while wearing a armored forces uniform.

By the way, the mach was in a foreign country.

    /watch?v=LNM-VmIFkvw

  • Honestly, I believe our military has fallen in standards compared to back during WW2. Those men were tough, if you watch our marches today they are all sluggish and lazy. No pride in it.

  • @KirkGaming I've been in a few marches as a former Marine with 2nd LAR. As a grunt unit I can say we were damned good considering we dont really do many parades because we were always training for combat, then deploying and then coming back and training again. Every generation says the previous one was the toughest. Afghanistan and Iraq aren't cakewalks and anyone willing to run towards the bullets is tough as nails. These guys sucked btw. They are actors though and not real Marines.

  • @ALBANO2684 The majority of the men in this scene are not actors, but real Marines.

  • what the fuck is wrong with making too many comments. how many are allowed you fucking you tube dickheads

  • you dont wear your cover tited to the right or the left or tilted back on your fukin gourd.compared to tdays bands camp lejeaune or camp pendleten this is a mob.

  • @0311RFLMN that's true, but I think the tilt looks better then the way we wear it these days.

  • The Marines sometimes use obsolete drill moves- the preperatorycommand begins "Ceremonial"pronounced "Ser-a-moanyall!"

  • they totally march better than the modern day west point parades... We need to work on this...

  • What movie is this?

  • sometimes thats true dude.

  • no offense, but they march better than the real ones

  • Comment removed

  • fucken actors swinging the rifles asses.

  • @dcarrero26 this movie was is 1942... you got to give them some props.

  • @USAYTRB yea and still better quality then some videos on youtube lol

  • The 4 that disliked this video are either terrorists or hippies.

  • Swag

  • So apparently in the U.S. the super bowl is more announced and celebrated than a military parade...

  • The movie was filmed at MCRD San Diego & most of those men were/are MARINES. And back when this movie was made most actors were in one of the Armed Services in one form or another. Some even saw combat too.

  • the circus came :D

  • ahhh i wish i was born earlier i'm a freshman and i have 4 more years then ill be shipping out to parris island

  • @MrChestypuller1775 I am senior and already received my enlistment contract. Shipdate is 20120618. Sucks to be your ass!

  • @LastXdeth lol ...

  • @LastXdeth 06182012 you're gonna find that it is actually going to suck to be your ass. Those 3 months will be something you'll never forget and you'll never forget your Drill Instructors names or faces for the rest of your life. I haven't seen mine in almost 8 years and I can still remember them as if I had seen them only yesterday. If you're going to be a grunt your way of life is going to change, if you're going to be a pog then enjoy your 9-5 job, lol.

  • @ALBANO2684 I'm POG material because I am currently in the top 6% out of my high school graduating class.

  • @LastXdeth Yeah but the Grunts can use a good brain as well. Im enlisted with a 5 year infantry contract. You wanna be lean and mean? or pushing paper in an office? Your choice..

  • @Madvillaain I'm going for AJ (Aircrew) contract. We go out in the field too! It's not as paper-demanding as admin or intelligence.

  • Ah, San Diego. Memories of that parade deck just came to mind.

  • Very nice! But I want more

  • The band isn't "The President's Own - United States Marine Corps Band," which is stationed at Marine Barracks, Washington, DC; but most likely the MCRD San Diego Band, or the Camp Pendleton Band and/or 1st Marine Division Band, or a combination of the three. The Marines in dress blues, led by Randolph Scott, are series honor graduates headed to Sea School; the others are Sea School students. Blue Battle Color replaced by red, but transition not complete by time movie made.

  • we need more of these

  • their covers are sooo off!!!

  • @GuyPennebaker thats because back in the day a gentlemens tilt was the in thing to do and was authorized in uniform. A gentlemens tilt of 5 degrees for the cover is still authorized to this day according to MARADMIN

  • Marine band wears red

  • @ShortBusStud and also camis and dress blues....not always Red

  • @chrisq007 The Marine band stationed at the Marine barracks in washington DC is the only marine band that wears a red uniform

  • @588158 yea the PRESIDENTS OWN....

  • @ShortBusStud The SPECIAL Marine band for the president wears red

  • this looks like San Diego to me

  • @BUNDLEofHELL It's MCRD alright!

  • most of there covers are cricket or not worn right aha

  • @dublehlx Little late, but back in those days that was allowed. Today you can still do a 5 degree cricket, but nobody ever really does.

  • You can tell these aren't real marines, but still it's some damn good marching.

  • the best part of the movie is the end when theyre going off to fight and an asian guy has a sign saying " ME CHINESE"

  • Thank you and God Bless you for sharing this. When my mother died at nearly 90, during the funeral I was hearing in my mind the words to the Marine Hymn of "If the Army and Navy ever look on Heaven's Scenes, They will find the Streets Are Guarded By The United States Marines." They sang that line at the end of this movie.

  • That first squad leader looks kinda out there at the end.

  • do marines have a break rank position?

  • I suppose the Marine Battle Color also used to be Blue instead of red? See 0:43

  • @legioXXXtraiana

you're not gonna believe this but yeah.....the Battle Colors were blue back then.

I taught I was gonna loose my mind on that innaccuracy

  • @legioXXXtraiana

    google "Spirit of 1917"

  • @Sturmmann wow - you're right! I actually like the blue one though. That's pretty neat.

  • Damn fine marching skills. Great turnout.

  • Why is a Sgt marching with sword, only Officers and RSM's use a sword on official parades, well over here in Australia.

  • @krissyeh

he's a Gunnery Sgt, a SNCO, and every blood stripe wearing NCO in the USMC rates his sword.

other militaries have an aristocratic way of looking at who rates a sword or whatever, but within the Corps its well known that the lowliest Cpl. is the most strategic leader and he should be treated as such.

  • Just to say again. There is none braver.

  • Just to let everyone know. I have this troll following me around. I'm used to it now. :)

  • I feel so proud of the United States seeing this. There is none braver.

    The Few. The Proud.

  • @EasyCompanyAirborne: I seem to recall you saying exactly the same thing about the Nazis on here Easy!! Shall we post up the link to that particular video for all your other fellow americans, so they can see what a facist loving little scumbag you are?

  • @Pheonixfromtheshale

    no it doesnt matter.

a professional military impresses all, and as a grunt I know that the German soldiers of WW2 didnt buy into that ideology crap

the rules and regulations within the Corps resemble much that of militant fascism

  • U.S Marine Uniform are perfect.. they don't need to be changed every 20 years like the Army. only thing that has changed on a Marine Dress uniform in the last 100 years was the hat.

  • is that really at MCRD? its identical

  • Hell, this almost looks modern. Good quality, the uniforms haven't changed, San Diego still pretty much looks like that,

  • Very honorable!

  • “May you & your contemporaries..preserve inviolate[the]Constitution, which, cherished in all its chastity & purity, will prove in the end a blessing to all the nations of the earth.” Thomas Jefferson

"It(The Constitution)reflected the enormous blind-spot of its Framers & it also reflected the fundamental flaw of this country that continues to this day"

    Usurper B Obama II

B O II 1990:"I really hope to be a part of a transformation of this country.."

    transform-alter radically in form, function,etc

  • This was a time in my life when My Marine Corps made its mark on me to remain there forever. My life was forever changed when I walked that hallowed ground. The friendships I made 60 + yrs ago are still as strong today.I, like most have friends that I care about but almost all are Former Marines. Am I Gung Ho ,You can bet your sweet butox I am. Semper Fi .John DuMong ,Former Three Stripe Sgt.

  • Thought the US flag is never dipped.

  • My granddaughters watch the Jonas Brothers on the Disney Channel and Nick Jonas at times wears a dress blue blouse!! Sacrilige!!!

  • fucking tipped hats are awsome

  • someone know the name of the movie and the year

  • @alex1071959 The 1942 movie "To The Shores of Tripoli" Staring John Payne and Randolf Scott. You will never see a Marine Band that big and that splendid again.

  • wow the marine empire is expanding oorah

  • por favor me podrian decir el titulo de esta pelicula

    gracias.

  • @alex1071959 To The Shores of Tripoli

  • Some Marine units were furnished with the '03 Springfield or the '03-A3 at the outset of WW2. I have an '03 dated 1914 and an '03-A3 dated 1942. I also have an M1 Garand which is dated 1951. I've been collecting and shooting military firearms for 25 years now and have a pretty good representation of them from WW1, WW2 and Korea. The U. S. Marines.......your best friend and your worst enemy.

  • ahah remember those yellow buildings...

  • Those uniforms are sexy

First time I saw my boyfriend is his I almost cried=)

  • how come u guys didnt bag on the platoon commander with the sword. lol he has NO CLUE wtf he is doing. look at the sheath bouncing all over theplace because he isnt holding it. and he just sort of turns around and walks backwards and says right " ? ? ? ? " lol , that wasnt a flank, or a column right. they kinda just wall went on way n stopped marching....gah. nice try though

  • @DeathStroke13 Actually it is an old marching movement that was used when troops were marching on a wide frontage. Its the same thing as the way the troops today execute the comand parade rest and the comand at ease . many many years ago there was even a comand called squads right which is also obsolete today.

  • @588158 AND nobody bags on Randolph Scott!

  • @588158 what fucking planet are you from?the commands you say are obsolete are not.where do you get off with this bullshit.

  • @DeathStroke13 he also isnt a real marine soo the intire drill manual is just thrown out the window look at the color guard for example open rank marching with swining arms very off lemits for color guard

  • @DeathStroke13

we dont hold the fuckin sword sheath in this country....wtf are you thinking about

  • @DeathStroke13 well you are not told to hold the scabard ( yes a scabard not a sheath... sheaths are for knives scabards for swords) and let it bounce with your leg however if you keep your arms tight its preety much stays in place plus he isnt the platoon comander he is the the platoon srgt the Plt Com was in the backround

  • @DeathStroke13 Sounded like he said platoon riiiiiiight column. Eh, whatever. I love the vid.

  • @TaCtIcSfTw1 Many of the marching commands used in the past are no longer used. If you watch the movie you would see they use the comand "Marching Manual" and the troops execute several consecutive manual of arms movements. Many things may change but the Corps LIVES FOREVER!

  • MCRD SAND DIEGO!

  • I love this part of the movie - it is the best footage of a military band playing - you won't see this any more - the size of the band, also marching with the drum and bugle corps - all history.

  • very very impressive!!!

  • OUTSTANDING

  • If this was made during WW2 then im sure they needed all the M1 Grands they could get. Thats probably why they were holding the Springfeilds. Or i could be wrong

  • it is the m1 garand the m1 started its service in 1938 then ww2 happened and they were massed produced after pearl harbor happened

  • Une Parade assez impressionnante.

    Voila un alignement impeccable,

des Marines qui marchent au pas.

Dommage que ce ne ce passe plus comme ceci.

  • I asked my recruiter about the Hat issue.

During WW2 if marines had combat medals and such from fighting they also cocked their covers, so they could be distinguished from newer Marines.

My recruiter told me he cocked his hat with his buds during an inspection because he had served in Iraq. The inspecting officer just called them idiots, but didnt say they werent allowed to do it.

  • *cough* COVER not hat *cough*

Sorry, I'm a cadet. We get in trouble for using hat in reference to our covers.

  • @icyblub

    thats pretty funny.

I'd totally slant my cover and see what happens during inspection ahah

  • When I was in I use to wear my cover like that . It was allowed in 90's dont know about now.

  • for some of the actors being well... actors, they marched extremely well.

I like this rendition of the Marines Hymn. Oorah.

  • I agree, they march pretty well for being actors.

  • i love how MCRD looks exactly the same

  • You Mean MCRD San Diego?

MCRD just stands for Marine Corps Recruit Depot

  • a.k.a. hollywood Marine depot

  • no matter what branch of service you're in nothing is more moving than the marines on parade march

  • If any of you have ever seen pictures of WWII soldiers/sailors/marines you'll notice a lot of their hats tipped to one side. Just kinda how they did things

  • You think that's still allowed?

  • Probably not. Every branch of service got more strict as the years went by.

  • Yes still allowed.

  • not if your a marine i just watched my buddy get torn a new one for doing that other, branches don't respect themselves as much so idk they might let you do that

  • How some platoons have on their Alphas but some have their Dress Blues on ?

  • Because its a Hollywood movie! If you watch the movie you will see a seen where they march off with 1903 springfields and then march back with M1 garands. I guess their technical adviser was out to lunch.

  • @588158 I'm no pro, but it looks like only the "Men selected for C school" and the Band are the only people with Dress Blues on, and everyone else is wearing Alphas.

  • @xxblackyburnzxx I think that only the Marines that were deemed worthy of going to Sea School were issued their dress blues for graduation

  • @xxblackyburnzxx Marines who graduated to Sea School were issued their Dress Blues at the end of boot.

  • semper fi they should be proud to claim the tittle of united states marine

  • OLD SCHOOL YEAH!

  • the movie is the uniform is still the same and will always be the same sempi fidelis devil dogs

  • A lot of their hats aren't even on straight

  • It was WW2 what did you expect

  • it doesn't matter if it was world war 2. The fact of the matter is that their hats are supposed to be on straight. A good example of how crooked it was is the dude at 2:05

  • I don't know if you have seen pictures of those era's, but some Marines use to wear it like that. My question is, was it allowed?

  • aww is that stage or the real MCRD SD

  • i want to joing the marines im 25, but im going to be 26 in november....but i think im to old for it.. :(

  • You still got 2 years left man, lol dont worry about it.

  • fuck that

  • Do it it is the best thing you can do... The feeling is amazing

  • youre not too old. there was a guy who 31 who went to boot with me.

  • Learn about the fighting at Tarawa.

You will understand. God Bless the US Marines.

  • they tilt it because of respect

  • 2 down, 248 to go lol

  • that didnt look like a regiment more like a company. My unit is a company and we look bigger then that. So id say around 100 men there.

  • maybe its different now since there are more marines now than there was in 1942?

  • that could also be true but in general its always been like that...

  • awesome video - such precision marching

  • kinda crappy nowadays though, if we marched like that in bootcamp our DI's would absolutly destroy us

  • at 2:00 a real Marine would never get away with his cover being tilted like that..unless of course its a movie

  • Yes, they would. Look at pictures of Marines from the 1920- to the 1940's and you'll see that many of them tilted there covers. Look at pictures of Franklin Sousley who raised the flag on Iwo, or some Medal of Honor winners and you'll see this was common at the time.

  • this wasnt really the bs hollywood of today, it was 1940s golden and accurate hollywood because that was happening right there. It was 1942 prop film maybe.

  • no, back then, most servicmen tilted their covers.

  • great video

  • Thank you.

  • What is the fix for it?

  • the rips were off like a mother fucker and the alignment was horibble lol
