While understanding whats going on in the story, and the basic events that occur are easy to follow, many of the ideas this allegory represent can become complex and convoluted. I read this book on my own in 7th grade, then once again in 10th grade. In 10th grade, I was able to understand many of the subliminal concepts in the book that I was not able to notice in 7th grade.

Dude, you forgot to mention why they originally placed the head on the stick (to offer it to the beast) and barely mentioned Simon (who symbolized pure goodness or even holiness which was completely abolished after he died). Also, they didn't just kill Simon, they mistook him for the beast.
