thats brilliant, I built an electra from scratch when i was younger, which i believe is a development of the GL, but due to the battery and motor, i kept destroying it on landing while learning to fly so i gave up pretty quick, i think its too heavy for me, so im going to try and build a GL body for the wing i have and learn to use thermals, as the wing provides masses of lift.

Yes I fly the model on the "energy village", the back part, which is some way from Tesco. The site is bowl shaped and seems good for soaring.

A glider, like this can go as high as the weather allows, the only constraint is whether you can still see it, to control it.
I'm sure the model could climb all the up to cloud base, but would probably be a tiny dot. Would like to experiment with flying from a live feed from the plane to a pc monitor, so I could fly the plane from the screen, that would be pretty cool.
