A caption in the last edition of The Economist brought me to this. Had completely forgotten about this song from my childhood until I heard it again. Instantly recognised this wonderful little piece. Wonderful.
What do you get when you cross an Irish singer with a Dr. Who episode? Guess this must be it! TERMINATE TERMINATE! Keep the song, though . . . it's a classic too, just like the Daleks!
Thanks for posting this, I havent heard this for years and years. It reminded me me of my childhood, we used to try and imitate the sounds it made in the playground at school, lol - thanks a lot again, for posting it.
How can I not smile to hear this again? Thank you for posting all of these songs, these seemed to belong to another age even as I first heard them as a child. To have them on youtube seems especially apt, very much the past has come back to life but better. The photos in the video add a nice touch too. Cheers.
When i was 6 or 7 my mum would play this song for me when i came from school, so until tonight i hadn't heard this song for 36 years and its simply the greatest and thanks to my mum you were the greatest also (Bless her dear heart)
sitting here with a tear rolling down my cheek brought back so many good memories of when i was a kid, my mum loved val doonican, perry como, jim reeves, frankie laine what you did with the videos was clever thanks for the memories
oh... my god... I'm am crying right now. I had a Disney cassette when I was younger, and I'm sure i still have it somewhere, i just don't know where. I havent heard this song in so long. I love you.
I'm loving this set of Val Doonican vids , Rikky ! You're bringing a happy tear to a lot of forty-something year old eyes ! Keep it up and THANK YOU !
Might do the leprechaun song Vals done ... but its a bad copy ... I have been spending a lot of time doing Rolf Harris vids ... thanks for all the encouraging comments folks
Of COURSE! The Marvelous Toy was a DALEK! Why did I never think of that?

It said "ZAP" when it fired and "EXTERMINATE" when it stopped and "SURPRISE BUTTSECKS" when I stood still.
I never knew just what it was, and I hope I never will. X(
