Very nice docu, it's so nice to have saved all your materials and I like your interviews so raw so true , it's quite demoralizing though but hey that's life I just wish that one day it is going the other way around. I wish that in the near future , we won't have to go outside our country for greener pasture. Filipinos are hardworking resilient race we can survive anywhere , but I just don't know why it is so different here? mabuhay ang pinoy! again I'd like to commend you for a great video.
this one has audio but part 2 doesn't. I am a Fil am with a similar but different story. Just how desperate some filipinos are? Could you post this to facebook?
well made.. my brother was also in the us navy one of the last batches to have been recruited in the philippines before subic shut down. he's now retired and currently works for boeing
Just like many Chinese, nationalities are just jokes. International organizations take only people with background and establishments. They will not solve any problem for the poorest. They think economy first yet they don't even know how to build economy for these people. Social studies in school is kind of wasting people's time so no one would know how to do it. Don't beg. These programs need penetration strategies as popular cultures to blend people amongst the needed and the educated.
were filipino and fiipinos are not like chinese descents we came from other descents ....
here we called as mestiso or half breed ...
like my family my mother side is mistiso or spanish descent my father is american descent .. not all filipinos look like chines or live like chinese...we have our own culture ,,, and we have the most hospitable culture ever ....
the true traitors are the philippine government. if they cant make a better country where opportunity is available to everyone then thats their problem. these people go to the us navy to support their family.....what would you do if your family was broke as hell?
stay in philippines where you could work your hardest and make 2dollars a day? or take the opportunity and go to the us navy and let the hard work you put in reward you...
think about that before judging your fellow countrymen....
how dare you call them traitors. the real traitors are there, within those high walls, those people in power, that is why some are forced to leave just to provide for their families... you wouldn't know how it's like to be in the navy.
Great documentary. My dad and many of my uncles served/are serving proudly in the US Navy. I also followed in their footsteps becoming a Navy pilot. But watching your video overcomes me with an overwelming sense of pride and modesty towards all those former Filipino sailors who have paved the way for us, the "2nd Generation." Job well done!
nice video my uncle was in the navy too i think 1965 to 1985.. i served also 4 years. being picked to be be in the us navy was like winning the lotto my uncle said.

aquino was stupid to close the Subic. So many opportunities were lost. NEVER let a woman control a country!
