  • @AJN11233 some douchebag read your comment and disliked

  • I get a mastadon, black sabbath feel from them and it's fuckin awesome

  • I saw them a couple weeks ago with Kyuss and MonstrO at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Me and my friends were the first ones to get to the venue because we were early, and we got to hang out with their bassist out front when he stepped out to smoke a cigarette. Cool dude. Awesome band.

  • @jbreak121 My bud and I tried to talk to him on our way out of the show. Couldn't get a hold of him... We stood close enough to see pedal boards!

  • no really, how heavy is it?

  • I saw them last night and they are 1 of the tightest bands I've ever seen.

  • How heavy this axe? ...... REAL FUCKIN HEAVY!

  • So... How heavy is this axe?

  • why does this have 24k views while justin bieber has millions? These damn 13 year old girls are ruining music. I'm glad there's a band in the 2000's that can make songs that drive a sword up pop's asshole

  • I don't care what genre people call them, i like The Sword.

  • GET THE FUCKIN SWORD UP YA!!!

was in the mosh pit for these guys at Soundwave, they had the place fucking charging

  • How heavy this sack!

  • I think i just made a time machine, cus this music is too good for this century..

  • It makes my happy to see that there are still people that understand what good music is.

  • OMFG!!

  • Mastodon new album is great. But personally I love there older body of work if you listen to their Remission album its like they were ten times heavier back then. Plus there first two albums have some of the best instrumentals.

  • So raww.

  • Best new band to hit the metal scene in 20 years.

  • @acaserogue01 Now I'm just expressing my opinion here, but in 20 years? The Sword is good, REAL good, don't get me wrong, but what about Mastodon? Falconer? Talent often hides in The Underground :D

  • @Zasalamel49 idk, I saw Mastodon live a few years ago, and maybe they were drunk or something, but they were pretty bad. I can never get into a band after a poor live show. I will admit, Holy Grail is pretty awesome though.

  • @acaserogue01 haha, yea, that sounds like Brent. I can understand, when an artist performs live, people see what their like. If they perform poorly, than that leaves a bad impression of them.

  • there is still good music in the 2000's.. just because not all metal still sounds like old Metallica doesn't make it terrible.

  • If someone threw Sabbath and Priest into a blender, this is what would come out

  • The first time I heard of the Sword it was on Tony Hawk's Project 8 soundtrack. They had my personal favorite song, Iron Swan, and ever since then I can't get enough of em! I fucking love this band and I always will. LONG LIVE THE SWORD!

  • It does have a retro sound to it. Love it because it is pure metal.

  • the sword reminds me a little of mastodon. with more thrash roots though

  • @usmcpost I started listening to Mastodon when they first started cranking out records in 99 and they were kick ass but now that they've become massive metal superstars they've gotten worse and their music has changed completely. I want the old Mastodon back, like the time of their Leviathan album.

  • @666Sneakerpimp But you have to admit, Crack The Skye DID have a good, prog sound to it. Mastodon isn't assailed by the media, either. I mean, yea, RB2 backed them, but do they really suck? Just my opinion, man :)

  • You both have small E-Penises....get over it.

  • a lot of people can learn from this band

  • exact same with me

  • They remind me of black sabeth. witch is awesome. But they opened up for Metallica when I saw them and I have loved them over since.

  • @kshensley11 yeah dude me too!

  • i know dude! i saw them open for metallica. They were THEE SHIT! Still are the shit.

  • Amen!

  • @kshensley11 sabbath not sabeth...get it right fool.

  • @tremold2043 Oh i'm sorry, you must be Jesus Christ at spelling.. You've never made a typo in your life? You should get some kind of medal!

But seriously, everyone hates people like you so you should consider killing yourself.. i'm just sayin.

  • @kshensley11 i am JC at spelling... and i should get a medal. thank you.

  • @tremold2043 Hmm..It just shows ignorance when you agree with sarcasm.

  • @kshensley11 ignorance is bliss my friend.

  • @tremold2043 No, intelligence is bliss, you have it all backwards. Don't flatter yourself.

  • @kshensley11 funny.. i've never heard anyone say intelligence is bliss....EVER. don't flatter myself? in what way was i flattering myself? aut anyhow, i really don't feel like wasting anymore time talking to you... you can even spell sabbath right, so you're deff. not worth anymore of my time. go try to make yourself feel cool & smart somewhere else dipshit.

  • @tremold2043 So now I'm the one trying to sound 'smart and cool' when you correct someone on a simple typo. I don't think so..

And if you honestly can't see how you were flattering yourself by saying ignorance is bliss, than you are the waste of time.

  • @tremold2043 Why weren't you aborted again?

  • i agree wit thrashmetal129 but i just found out their just a new band their first song came out on gh2 freya and the sword has badass riffs im not going to lie bout that

  • When I first saw the video on the Headbangers Ball I could've sworn this band was like from the 80's or 90's. but I guess not they are still a great band.

  • Saw these guys and Machine Head open for Metallica a few weeks ago. I was more impressed with these guys.

  • how heavy this song!

  • Ok, there's NO WAY this is 2000's metal!! It's just too good!! It sounds like a fusion of Black Sabbath and Metallica!

  • i no man! music is chaning!.........hopefully

  • @Thexxman123456 dude you're so right i thought the same thing its effing beautiful isnt it....

  • @Thexxman123456 I saw The Sword open for Down and Metallica in Nola in '08, not gonna lie they were pretty fantastic!!

  • @Thexxman123456 You mean a fusion of GOOD bands, like Black Sabbath, Sleep, and Mastodon.

  • @masternewbz117

'Tallica's definitely in there....love the implication that they aren't a good band....

  • @VosotrosEterno Metallica is nowhere to be found in this band or the Stoner Metal genre at all.

  • @masternewbz117

To assume a band takes all their influence from one genre is pure folly.

Metallica is definitely in here...in the melody and the riffs. If it pains you to zero in on a band, and you'd rather generalize, you could say that there are thrash elements. I actually found The Sword through looking in the "related" section of one of Metallica's videos.

  • @VosotrosEterno The related videos go by what you have in your favorites too.

Also, I never said they only had Stoner influences, but if they are to have any other influences it's Prog Metal, no Thrash at all.

    Lrn2music

  • @masternewbz117

    No they don't...

And yes, there's thrash in there, but I guess you can't help every stubborn fool trying to be the hipster who hates Metallica.

Whatever mate, music is my first language, and it's obviously something you don't speak.

  • @VosotrosEterno Yes they do... Are you fucking retarded? They are Progressive Stoner Metal basically, they take Stoner riffs and use Progressiveness to make their music.

I would totally say that Thrash is in there if it was, regardless of whether or not you like Metallica. I will give you this though, I admit they do sound a little bit Thrashy, but it's more on the galloping and the kind of chugging guitar.

  • @masternewbz117

Calm down a sec, the "no they don't" was in relation to the related videos part, sorry for the misunderstanding, I should've clarified.

And that's all I meant by hearing the thrash in it, and I will admit that it's not on every Sword song too. It's just that sometimes, you can really hear it well. Prog is in there for sure.

At least we can both agree that the band is good...I'm just trying to tell you that they pull from multiple influences including ones you don't like

  • @masternewbz117

So, kindly, roll up a j and make a toast to the greatness of The Sword =]

  • @Thexxman123456 try volbeat johny cash meets metallica

  • Rocks!!!!!!
