Anybody ever hear the Roger Whittaker version? I have it on cassette and am unable to convert it and upload it], if someone had it I'd appreciate it if they would upload it
Why don't we hear music like this any more? TI guess too classy for the underclass to appreciate. I can seem them screaming ' WTF is this! Where is the Ferrari, the fire work explosions and the women wearing thongs"
@blkpanther11 Yeah no doubt. He put down some serious vocals in the 60's (as he did thorughout his career). But I think that his music from the 70's, his music as a whole, is underrated. He is recognized as a great talent and an icon...but even still...I think he deserves MORE recognition.
Great version. I wish that they had the full song without the beginning being cut off though. Marvin Gaye's the man. I enjoy Glen Cambell's version too, of course. Another good (and drawn-out) cover was made by Isaac Hayes.
You can never deny that their is a GOD with a gift like his this is a beautiful rendition on this song. I wish we could have artis that would sing more like this.
Great post, Marvin in transition from the purely sex symboled crooner of the 60's, to the ground breaking social and relationship commentator of the 70' and 80's... Just one short year later he changes the musical world with his groundbreaking album What's Going On.
My goodness, I can't stop listening to this song. I wish it was an actual track. lol. It's so beautiful. This is a great remake of Glen Campbell's classic track, IMO. Fantastic video!! 5 stars!! :-)
I'd really, really like to see his performance of "People" on one of those tv shows... I think the Mike Douglas show maybe... It mentioned it in the Hello Broadway booklet.
Wow, classic!!

God...Mavin. I prefer the more soulful Marvin (you know, the one that came with the beard) but man he could make any type of music sound impeccale.
