  • yhea thats a real c64 hahah hear the drive seeking at teh begining lol...cant beat the SID chip..makes me fuzzy remembering the tunes i made on my 128D

  • Hmmm... I have something highly similar to this but with more classic/ragtime tunes on it.

  • it's awesome... but it's lacking SID BEATS!

  • Damn this is awesome

  • Why you dont upload it whit Hypercam or something???

  • @timmy591

Maybe because Hypercam doesn't run on a Commodore 64

  • @MrAssiette Haha, that made me laugh!

  • wow.

  • Sorry I don't have a link, I made this on an actual C64, not an emulator.

  • use synthesia instead of this shit... its much better!

  • There are lots of programs with more bells and whistles. What the other programs don't have is the nostalgia of the C64 and the SID interface!

  • @LDPosse I know one thing for sure. I have never seen more shit programs than this! this is shit!!

  • Whatever....

  • lol, have u ever tried synthesia? it is 10 times better!

  • I haven't tried synthesia, but I'm not a musician and I don't compose music.

I only made this video because I felt like entering a song on the Commodore 64's SID Player.

This music isn't my arrangement, it's copied right out a book of Nintendo sheet music.

And, the Stereo SID Editor (Not seen in the video) IS pretty decent for an 8 bit computer with a paltry 64K of RAM.

  • @LDPosse lol, u should try it ;)

  • @apebyen did it run on a commodore 64?

  • SNES woulda been better with the SID in it.

  • Disable the fastloader on the second screen. I have it working in WinVice this way.

  • I wish this would work on CCS64 cause I tried it and when the player was looking for songs it would freeze the emumalator. *insert flustered smiley here*

No that wasn't a typo I like calling it that.

  • Try using vice64.

Used to love ccs64 but prefered the sound from vice and changed over.

  • So somebody does remember the old sid player.

I wish there were more of these like how people are recreating songs on Mario Paint these days.

  • lol xD epic

  • haha cool :D

  • COOL LEET

  • yay, all the right notes too! :D

  • Completely awesome!!<3

  • So awesome! it should make YouTube front page!

  • yay! SID Player! Memories...

  • OMG THAT WAS AWESOME! =D

  • that was pure classic awesomeness. thank you for making my day!

  • Yay for the SID.. Me still has a Commodore 64 too, with dual 6581's... xD

  • :)

I just fired up my C64 the other night (first time in about 6 years) - and my SID Symphony Stereo Cartridge is DEAD! :( (I've already checked the battery...)

I got it so long ago, it was still made by "Dr Evil Laboratories" and the serial # is 189!

  • it sounds funny

  • Cool!

  • Is this really on a C64? I used this program but it never sounded this nice.

  • It is recorded from a real C64, but I think it was made on TWO sids, another SID "on top" of the SID (it's pretty complicated). Plus I'm pretty sure the model is NTSC.

  • Defintley two sids. Now, what address did the second sid occupy? Was it $c000?

  • I have a SID Symphony add-on cartridge, which was made by Dr. Evil Labs and CMD. It's at $DE00. I used the Stereo editor which allows you to write the songs in 6 voice format.

  • Yes it is. Note the sound of the 1541 disk drive in the background :-)

  • nice. the sound kind of brings me back. peace

  • what is this thingy? :o i feel like bouncing up and down ._.
