Civil marriage is a very new institution and is a separate issue from church marriages. Fortunately, more and more people are coming to our side for us to be treated with full equality and respect. Yes, God loves us all. However, I would encourage you to read the bible sometime. God loves us so much that He desires for us to be SAVED. He is very clear about His views on homosexuality in both the old and new testament. ie. Romans 1. Also, if the couple want kids, they usually have to adopt which takes away the opportunity from a man/woman to have a family. If a same sex couple want to get together, thats fine, but recognizing it as a marriage changes the meaning of marriage and the way our society works. As far as a tax break goes, I think thats pushing it a bit. The law regarding marriage is very specific.

Yes, God loves us all. However, I would encourage you to read the bible sometime. God loves us so much that He desires for us to be SAVED. He is very clear about His views on homosexuality in both the old and new testament. ie. Romans 1. Also, if the couple want kids, they usually have to adopt which takes away the opportunity from a man/woman to have a family. If a same sex couple want to get together, thats fine, but recognizing it as a marriage changes the meaning of marriage and the way our society works. As far as a tax break goes, I think thats pushing it a bit. The law regarding marriage is very specific.

Yes, it is so. The full faith and credit clause is interpretative on the national level, i.e. courts have the option to consider both existing laws and judgements that have been passed. For you to insinuate judges have no bias is laughable...they are human after all.

I recognize the need for their existance to prevent corruption and exploitation, but in this case neither is relevant and the people of California have clearly spoken.

What the hell? This is why so many people think christians are INSANE! i have NOTHING against religious people, but come the fuck on. Quit trying to brainwash the world with this crap-everybody has their own views. I'm straight and agnostic. I support gay marriage because it is RIGHT! The fucking bible is SO screwed up you don't even realize it becuase that's all you've been raised to know. You've never given anything or anyone else a chance.

OK I hear what your sayin. I am not insane. If you really think that the same sex trying to procreate and marry is natural, and right, I cannot debate with you.
So you dont think it is questionable? Nothing wrong with it? Did you have a mom and dad? Put yourself in a childs place getting teased at school because his "mom and mom" are comming to pick him up after school.

And first off, I would like to say that I respect your beliefs and feelings toward religion, it's excellent to have faith in Something. I know that in the bible it says that homosexuality is wrong and only man and woman should wed but this is where i disagree so strongly. I do have a mother and I was raised in a strictly christian family. i used to go to church but now i disagree with a lot of the morals. (i have to continue this in another comment) >>>>

I realize that the majority of gay children or children with gay parents are picked on or bullied at school but that's just like sending a fat kid to school you know? things are going to happen whether your gay straight black white muslim fat skinny. ellen and the other lesibians/gay males around the world don't want anything specific but to be recognized as human beings. do you think because your a slave to gods word and tell others that "gay is not the way" (continued in next comment) >>>>
