Why do you bother cutting it?! You don't need any tools to eat a lobster if you do it the right way. You can crack the tail by cupping it in your palms with the shell on top and just squeezing it. After that, just flip it over and pull it apart, and you get the same effect and meat in like, a 3rd of the time it takes to cut it.

I take the flippers , I rip them off , stick my thumb up where the flippers used to be , and I push my thumb up through there , so the meat comes sliding right out of the big end.
