  • "God damnit, Vladimir! How many times has the Captain told you not to drink while flying!?"

  • i swear those migs are forever crashing or blowing up their shite

  • I was there! And yes it was awkardly silent, nô big bang or anything.

  • A friend was there and told me the collision was strangely silent - nothing like the movies.

  • by some comments i read here, i often wonder, how do these people manage to type and breathe at the same time?

  • @standudinski They can't. They're like bees. Do nothing and live, or type a comment and suffocate

  • But at least these guys ejected and poor John Eggin didnt :( These guys were incredibly lucky to escape this incident.

  • i was actually there when this happened

  • Dude, at least I can spell and put a sentence together correctly. Commies can't do that!

  • Serves those Soviet built jets and pilots right thinking they can wow a free Western World airshow crowd successfully.

  • @ChamplainDivision dude, i think u r an idiot.russians have built some gourgeous planes...and many times having the edge over the western ones...u r watching to much Hollywood propaganda.

  • @adynegrean No, the soviets built knockoffs of American planes from blueprints stolen by communist sympathizers in the US. They were obama's predecessors.

  • @DT1521 Good response Bro. You hit the nail squarely on the head. The Ruskies new Pak-50 is the latest example. From all the accounts I have read about it the Nato code name should be the " Turkey".

  • @leigha0714 Dont, its not that good.

  • @kjmaine how does skiing have anything to do with air crashes

  • russians need to provide more anti - aircraft aircraft...

  • anyone who puts ".END." at the end of every fucking comment is a complete and utter asshole that is craving attention.

  • nah nah nah, nahnahnah

  • Duh, how can you have a more dangerous stunt than a crash, dumb fuk,

na na na na naaa naaa, idiots

  • Pilot to Pilot afterwards: Fuck you dude!

  • @EnglishGavz Yeh man, the only injury from this crash? a dislocated jaw. as the pilot that got hit from underneath, ran up to the other one, after their parachutes touched down, and hit him. True story. not kidding.

  • @hellcatjoe Really? Awesome.

  • holy mother...

  • Aww that was all staged- OMGZ A FIREBALL D:!!

  • i saw one pilot. Did the other one bail?

  • @ALLERTORLOVER69 Yes, both survived. There's a video of both of them smoking a cigarette, with the burning wreckage in the background. it's floating somewhere on the net...

  • poor ppl:(

  • Man, the groundskeeper is going to be pissed.

  • It is customary for Russian pilots to deliberately crash so you can't see all of the display and therefore be disappointed at how crap their planes are.

  • I guarded the plane that crashed in the field off camera, made a sun newspaper photographer fall out of a tree trying to get a picture lol

  • you know, when you in a plane crash, it is really fun UNTIL you hit the ground. then it hurts a little. i should know, ive been in one.

  • Well, thats one thing we know the Russians are good at...... CRASHING

  • @andyknight1 after that i think its more... "they are good at surviving"

  • how the hell did they survive that

  • I've seen this video hundreds of times and i didn't know it was at RAF Fairford.

i also read some of the comments

    1. 1993

    2. RAF Airshow planes from different countries show off

    3. Russian Idiots drunk on vodka

  • @LinkShack : I've read about this incident, but I see no evidence that the pilots were drunk. They lost sight of each other in clouds, and collided before regaining visual contact. Their error was going into loops when and where clouds were present; they should have moved the loops away from the clouds, or waited until the clouds passed by, or aborted the show.

  • @lonewolfintj #3 was a joke Russians=Vodka

  • @LinkShack : Ah, so *this* comment, 2 months ago, is what you were referring to today. Ok. A bit of a thin joke end, though. Rather like equating British=Laphroiaig, or Americans=Jack Daniels. Perhaps you should also tell the beginning and the middle?

  • @lonewolfintj it was a joke.END.

  • Apparently regarding something I said 3 months ago, LinkShack replied 4 hours ago: "it was a joke.END.". I'm not sure what a "joke.END." is, or what you are you are saying is an instance of a "joke.END.". Perhaps "it" (whatever "it" is) was a queasy kumquat? Or perhaps it was a lazy languid lop-eared lagomorph? Or even a raunchy red rhubarb? Just speculating.

  • @lonewolfintj it is how I end a comment.END.

  • @LinkShack : re ending sentences with ".END.", isn't that five times the required number of characters% Wouldn't "." do just as well% Just curious# As long as we're switching punctuation around/ we might as well replace other characters as well/ like using slant instead of comma/ and octothorpe instead of period/ and percent instead of question mark# Why not%

  • @lonewolfintj why can?t you le££ ahntinyg g0.END.

  • @LinkShack : I ilways du let tings go .END. Yew ar they won whu keops reploying agaon and agaen and agian to 3-manth ald comentts. Whi dant *U* leet tiangs goo .END.? / Stop projecting! Also, please learn English spelling and mechanics if you're going to post comments on YouTube; you look like an idiot otherwise. And stop telling others to stop replying to your replies. If you don't want conversation, don't converse. Duh.

  • @lonewolfintj you've placed '.END.' in the wrong place in your comment.END.

  • @LinkShack I agree you did put '.END.' in the wrong place.END.

  • when woz this

  • @Singhboy007 writes: "when woz this" That is neither a sentence nor a question. "Woz" is the nickname of Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak. Apple was founded in 1976. But what does Woz have to do with this airshow accident?

  • @lonewolfintj For fuck sake man, you know what he meant. Why didn't you just answer him instead of giving him shit?? All you had to type was "1993" And what the fuck does Apple Computers have to do with this airshow???

  • thank god for their survival

  • I was there when it happened in 1993. It was 2 Russian Mig 29's. Both pilots ejected safely, 1 pilot even lit up a cigarette when he got up. lol

  • @DarrenGdub but did he light it on the burning plane?.........if he did hes a badass

  • You sure the Royal Air Force uses MIGs?

  • @KJT922010T it was at an RAF Airshow morron -.-

  • @TheodorKK Actully those MIGS were being piloted by two Russians dickhead.

  • @KJT922010T yeah! it was still on an RA fucking F Airshow dickhead!just because it isnt a freekin russian airshow doesnt mean it have to be only british pilots there!

  • Come on comrade, eject! Stop STALIN. (ah ah ah ah ah)

  • Thank Good the poilte managed too eject even tho the plane was already almost out of control and upside down great quick thinking there

  • did everyone survive?

  • @josephdupont Did they died? D:

  • @josephdupont Everyone did survive! A pilot friend winessed it and said that one of the Russian pilots just floated down and coolly lit a cigarette on landing! Reckon that was to calm his nerves before seeing his CO.

  • when the pilot lands he will be sayin wheres that son of bitch

  • That's why the Russians have the best ejector seats in the world - they need 'em!

  • @whigwood - damn straight! thats what russia gets for copying our fighter jets! im glad the pilot was okay tho lol.

  • I saw this crash with my very eyes, a vivid memory and I was only 5

  • In soviet Russia plane drives you

  • you'd be pissed if the debris fell on your parked plane

  • luckly no one was killed

  • Alcohol plus anything (flying, governing etc) is the Russian way. That's what Boris Y taught me. And no, I'll never fight any Russian, thank you very much.

  • I was at this airshow and even took my own photos of this accident... As for the previous argument on who is the best aerobatic team, my vote goes to the Italians. They are more passionate and complete more risky manuvors than the Red arrows. Here in New Zealand we love the Italians for that.

  • why do i see more russian military accidents than any other military in the world?because they're careless?or is it just that other countries are better at hiding such accidents?

  • SeventhSky3, Russian aerobatic teams do more dangerious stunts.

  • ahh.... well that hasn't changed since ww2

  • No Russian demo pilots are just foolish and hot headed, most crash by themselves too so they are just trying to do too much.

  • You pretty much said what I said.

  • Unintentionally.....

  • @vtkrey ha no they don't, they just can't fly for shit

  • @gypsykingg

    Whatever you say...

  • cause ther hardcore

  • @SeventhSky3, because you looking for just russian crashes...

  • I am Italian too. About the Freccie Tricolori btter than the Red Arrows:maybe yes maybe no, but I cannot argue they're both superb.

About the RAF, They're the best in europe! Everyone is looking up of what they archieved in WW2.

RAF has a great history palmares.

  • Fairford is in Swindon not Gloucestershire...

  • Fairford is in Gloucestershire, Swindon is in Wiltshire. Buy an atlas.

  • Lolwut, in Swindon there is an airbase called "RAF Fairford".

  • RAF Fairford is in Gloucestershire. Its between Kempsford and Horcott just off the A417. I lived there in 1980 & 81 when the Yanks flew KC-135 tankers out of the base.

  • cooooooolllllllll

  • maybe you should check it all and get informed of the significant differences in the programs between the 2 teams .

If Frecce Tricolori in the past have been recognized

the best by most of countries they performed at and still they're recognized like that , it can't be a nationalistic personal opinion of mines and I agree with you on that being what it really counts ....

Obviously I have big respect for the Red Arrows pilots 'cos they are really amazing . lol

  • I don't know how much u know or r interested in acrobat fly ( by your multinicking trolling comments u look not to know much out of some nationalistic rubbish ), anyway I was talking of pure acrobat fly & specific skills in doing those manouvres ,all things stating a constant difference between the 2 display teams that no childish one way attitude or ridiculous attempts of changing reality by focusing on

one point (obviously the more comfortable one ) can't change ! ;-)

  • You are Italian so I really cannot blame you for your statements, but do not call others nationalistic rubbish when you are number one at it.

As for who are the best, I guess that that is in the eyes of the beholders. Airshows are for the public and not for know it alls like you, so really it is the show that counts. Red arrows are hard to beat IMHO

  • Forever I don't tell true facts 'cos I'm Italian but for them being holy truth.

There are several reasons making since long time Frecce Tricolori the best air acrobat team so when I recall such a widely known truth is everything but nationalistic rubbish !

Telling the tale of world's most famous team not being the best only upon one way false false statements instead is nationalistic rubbish .

In the eyes of worldwide Airshow spectators Frecce Tricolori stay unbeatable

  • ouff ...! U r pathetic so change record, not my fault if u can't get : I talk upon true facts , you talk upon ur nationalistic rubbish .

  • Wasn't it the Frecce Tricolori that killed 70 spectators in Ramstein and 3 of there own pilots.

Doesn't sound all that skilful to me.

In fact it sounds fairly pathetic.

  • Yes, the Ramstein incident due to a collision between 2 planes , sadly killing 70 people. It happened in an Airshow as people were standing too much close to the fly area , which fortunately didn't happen to Red Arrows in their incidents before & after 1988.

Better, in their many incidents killing several people ( not just one ) , so what sounds unbelievbaly pathetic is your one way argument about incidents , 'cos you should check respective lists and just be smart enough to shut up .

  • red arrows best in the world ??

Where in the brits' dreams ?? XDDD

Frecce Tricolori are the best of the world

since ever , they're just from another galaxy compared to ordinary red arrows

who got astonished by Frecce in all Air Tatoos !

So funny these brits who overrate their home stuff even when they're far behind !!

  • So funny that stupid little people like you think that.

The Frecce Tricolori come close second after the Red Arrows.

  • no , so funny that stupid

brainless blind nationalistic morons like you think , despite true facts , that Red Arrows can even be put on same level of Frecce Tricolori who have ever been and still today are the best by far .

What Frecce perform and at highest level of difficulty can only dreamed by Red Arrows who can't even come close to the best, no matter how much they copy Frecce's manouvres, they will always make them worse and at a lower difficulty level . Sorry but that's the truth

  • Either people have been telling you rubbish, or you're due for your lobotomy. The thought of even SUGGESTING that the Red Arrows are FAR behind the Frecce Tricolori is laughable.

What utter crap you are speaking.

I'm gonna take a leaf out of your book and say, sorry but that's the truth - AND IT IS!

  • No brit nationalistic idiot the dream about Red Arrows , since ever far behind Frecce Tricolori , is more than laughable

    it's a joke !!

Unlike you and ur fellows I talk upon true facts and not upon nationalistic pride : in fact in other things UK is far better than Italy , but not in acrobat flight , , By the way Red Arrows deserve much respect 'cos they are probably 2nd after Frecce .

I'm not interested in going on endlessly , so I 'll leave you to ur rubbish .

  • Good that you're not going to go on, because you are talking rubbish.

  • I was there in support again that year, I was on the south side among the static displays and had to get back to the technical site PDQ.

  • I remember this I was 7, stood about 400 meteres from the barrier in front of a static apache gunship. I heard one of the pilots broke the others jaw when they were being checked at the hospital.

  • true. he also then took a ak47, castrated him and then he ate his balls and of course he then went to his home and fu** his wife

  • What year was it?

  • 1993 iirc.

  • Wow thats the year my brother was born and that was 3 years before i was!

  • Both Russian Mig-29s of the russian airforce display team, we in the RAF don't operate the mig-29

  • before you say cory one was a RAF and one was a russian plane read the description "2 RUSSIAN MIG29" and the RAF are trained well i dont think we would see the british making a mistake like that

  • Yes, the brits are much too perfect for that. They're probably going to be too scared to type that maneuver. they should stick with their tea and crumpets. LOL

USAF baby! dont forget it! lol

  • it wasnt the british doing that it was the russians and anyway have you ever seen the red arrows

  • @macfahad It's dicks like you that put our country to shame I'm American but I don't shout WOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOO like war is a game.

Brits are NO.1 in power and technology I don't care who says we mass produce cheap technological crap.

  • @TWBR88 What the fuck are you talking about? "War is a game" Where the fuck did war come from? Dick head, have you watched this video? Its about an airshow disaster. Did you read my comment, I' not talking about war dipshit! Next time before leaving a comment, use your mind shit brains. Your on your fucken high horse because I said "USAF" - Fucken moron LOOL

  • not the raf

  • one was a RAF and one was a Russian Airforce Plane hope that helps

  • Since when does the RAF fly MIG 29's?

  • Never....

  • We don't.

  • Those look like mig29s I dont think this is the RAF.

  • holy crap, that was amazing

what year was this? i've gone every year for a while now, but i never saw this...

  • July 24, 1993

  • oh that might be why: i wasn't born ;)

  • 0:06

    It broke it's neck.

  • I remember being there when this happened when I was a kid, one of the kids at the school I went to ended up with a piece of the wreckage. He brought it in for Show and Tell.

  • Yes, it's terribly easy to dodge at closing speeds which number in the high hundreds of miles per hour...?

  • I never said that. What I was saying was with the thousands of feet of airspace, how do two 20-foot long jets collide?

  • One of the pilots most likely made a simple and fairly minor misjudgement. At those speeds and considering they were displaying rather than just flying normally, it's not much of a stretch for a tiny error to turn into a massive one. They were probably aiming for a shockingly close pass - they certainly achieved the shocking part.

  • what i heard tiny michanical problems but het what we hear is what we hear

    good thing no one died

and i just wanna point out

1 aircraft came down safley yet the other went into a ball of flame

    HOW!??! ^

  • Luck, I guess. It wouldn't be the first time a plane's survived a midair while another's been completely trashed by it.

  • it didnt come down safely... cant u see the other pilot eject??????

  • Ya. All 4 pilots escaped safely

  • 4 pilots? Mig-29 is a single seater. There were two pilots ... one per aircraft. and yes, they both were able to eject.

  • Oh, I thought I saw 2 pilots eject from each plane. I might be wrong.

  • All the pilots ejected (All 2 or 4)

  • But there is still the possibility that this wasn't a stunt. If it was, then it fully explained the radical flying techniques. This was just a bad decision for a stunt.

However, this teaches us a lesson. Your balls don't always lead you to the right decision.

  • Ofc it was a stunt....why would two F-18 Hornets be filmed at an RAF base in Britain if they were not displaying...

The RAF dont use or have F-18s...

  • Comment removed

  • those were not F-18's they were Mig 29's of the Russian FRI

  • im an air cadet from the UK and one of my CI(civilian instructors) told me he watched this and he heard that one of them slapped the other after that.(doesnt sound true i know but this CI doesnt normally lie)

  • vodka in the cockpit,naughty naughty,naughty

  • i truly think that the mig pilots are some of the best pilots in the world it is unfortunate that they misjudged the distance between eachother but adleast they wer fine

  • russia has some of the best planes..i mean ours are newer an what not but your right mig pilots are real good. i mean you have to be good to fly a fighter jet period.

  • yep i aggrea but especially the mig she is 1 unforgiving plane u piss her off shell bite ya back but in this case it was more of she nibbled at em

  • You think Russian Pilots are some of the best in the world? Ya, they only kill hundreds of people each year at Air shows in Russia. they're inept and fly bad equipment.

  • ok if u wanna use summing like that then how about americans they have shit weapons have more civilian and allied kills then they do have enemy kills they are truly inept and use bad equipement even tho there from sucha powerful country that has loads of money compared to russia a country that is poor and falling apart

  • See it's people like tsckeith that make Americans look bad. No wonder people hate us.

  • thank u mate cause i hate those sort of americans the "our countrys shit dont stink" sort of ppl but ppl like u that can admit there country isnt the greatest are the sort i like i mean im a brit and even we have those sort of ppl in our country

  • Xzen,

Go drink some more Obama cool aid and stop making excuses for America, it's pathetic passifists like yourself that make the world what it is today.

    Get a job too!

  • Bad Equipment??? Excuse me?? You are really blinded by American propaganda or what? Look dude, both USA and Russia have bloody fine equipment and pilots, you can't judge which is best... Americans have F-22, but Russians are going to get their PAK FA a little bit later, but as cheap as F-35 and as good as F-22... So you can't make that quick judgment without knowing the equip well.

  • Blinded by American Propaganda??? Ummm Not really, just facts. I can't recall the last time a russian pilot was in a dog fight let alone win one. However, I do recall numerous Migs being shot done with against American fighters...Maybe it's just bad aircraft or bad pilots, either way the outcome is the same.

  • Well I CAN recall many times during this last war... Russia only lost 1 aircraft, and Georgia lost almost all the air force... Besides.. Since Afghanistan, USSR/Russia hasn't had big air force movements... whereas USA has had endless conflicts since Vietnam... And all those Migs being shot down are from other air forces.. Not USSR/Russia's... In fact.. In this war, Russia lost it first aircraft in more than 30 years in a non-accidental way..

  • Just like I told you earlier.. I'm nor on the American side nor on the Russian.. I'm just in the truth side...

  • LOL...missed judged each other!!! what ever gave you that Ideal Genious!!

  • whata?? Do you think this funny? They could die!!

  • I agree i feel more empathy for pilots than when i see any other person injured because you are aware right away that the pilot is a trained educated and obviously intelligent person, and had a lot of responsibility. I don't want to see any pilots killed from any country =(

  • Try not to overgeneralize. Intelligent, doesn't mean wise, and some of them aren't responsible enough, some are arrogant. Some of them are pilots thanks to f.e. familly connections within high ranks in first place. But they are the most important element in air forces. They will be priority target for enemy. You can always buy/build new planes, find replacement for personnel, but there's no easy way to replace many years and huge amount of money spent on pilots training.

  • I enjoy how the pilot of the second mostly funtional Mig punched out and kind of just let the plane do what it wanted.

  • What year was this..?

  • 1993 i think.

  • yep, '93

  • slight twat arent you?

  • k whltey517 your a jackass no one was killed idiot their where only 4 injured

  • Ur thinking of the crash in a Ukraine airshow where two pilots crashed their plane and killed 85 bistanders.

  • 24, one was the pilot

  • Iread somewhere that one or both of these pilots spent time for this..?.

  • Russian twats should have taken cig off him and stubbed it in his eye, could have injured an englishman.

  • agreed

  • And I was one of the 3 Belgian Air Force C-130Hercules crew members who were sitting on top of there Herc !!! The Mig passed 45 feet above our heads and ripped our rh elevator of the plane. Regards to all "Fonz" Flight-Engineer C-130 retired and still a live and kicking !!

  • i waz there, one of the russian MIG pilots, as soon as they landed, whipped out a lighter and a cigarette

  • And then the other one hit him round the head. I think so, anyway...
