Consider that the UED fleet that was sent was only a 'sub fleet', essentially, and that despite how massive and vast it was, it was only a fraction of one of... What, ten fleets the UED has?
It's entirely possible that the UED could actually fight back against the Xel'naga successfully simply due to sheer, overpowering numbers. This is just a small, insignificant sector to them. I think that, eventually, the UED will be back.
@DaAznThug i could say that they might be back, but it will take a long time in the starcraft universe if they do in real life terms, because of how far they are and all.
@leegeorgeson I'd take the deal then infest them. Then send them against Mengsk. Then infest them, and gather their forces and enslave the protoss. Galactic unity at a price, but at least we'd be ready for SCII's Protoss/Zerg Hybrids.
If I was Kerrigan I would use my powers for evil, but since she is evil anyway, then what difference would it make for her :)
However you cannot enslave the Protoss unless you were to destroy ALL of them. Even the Dark Voice had to use specialization to make the Hybrids to THEN destroy the Protoss. And given that making enough Hybrids to permanently incorporate them into your roster of troops to create continuously, Kerrigan would be behind.
@HolyknightVader999 The Protoss wouldn't take slaves. Even the Conclave did not have slavery albeit they had a "sacred" Conclave that was NEVER to be questioned and a STRICT Hierarchy, but they were not a slave society. Aldaris even said that harming "defenseless" Cerebrates was beneath the methods of Protoss Warriors. Also the Protoss, especially the more religious factions probably think they can TAKE BACK Aiur on their own. :)
@leegeorgeson when you think of the first Overmind that was in SC, you think it's 100% evil, when in turn, it was trying to save alot of lives. with it's ultimate key. Kerrigan.
THIS IS LIKE, THE 9129189TH TIME BLIZZARD IS REPEATING STORYLINES. k actually only the second time BUT YOU GET ME. i mean look. lich king is the sole control over the mindless undead. overmind similarity? then comes a day the lich king had his fun and wants someone to assimilate him into himself. kerrigan/overmind similarity? the undead wants to invade a continent full of life. zerg invasion of aiur similarity?

I can't say I completed Brood War. Because of this mission. Zerg mission 10 is so tough and no matter how many times I tried, I lost every single time. I was playing this 8 or 9 years ago and I'm not sure if I want to try and complete this level all these years later. Strangely enough, I don't remember having much trouble with mission 8, yet apparently that's the hardest of all the missions.
@jugular911 I've finished it before and I can say mission 10 was the hardest for me.
you gotta be fast and learn the map to beat it, which of course is easier said than done.. if you can't use units at their fullest, it's better if you just use "showmethemoney" or "poweroverwhelming".
It's not a contest, so nobody really cares if you had to cheat to beat the final mission. :p
@jugular911 I found mission #10 surprisingly easy once I followed StrategyWiki's device to heavily fortify the starting base (six sunken colonies and 12 hydralisks at each entrance plus bundles of four or more spore colonies scattered all throughout the starting base's edges) and train numerous reinforcements while my masses of hydralisks were taking on the Protoss and UED troops. Mengsk's army fell like a house of cards at the hands of a huge air force of 36 guardians and 18 devourers.
It's weird because the way this video runs is how I always see people recommend beating the mission (Arcturus, UEd, then protoss) but I always found in practice the protoss were the easiest to eliminate first followed by Arcutus then the UED.

I can't seem to keep my defenses. Every time my defenses are at max, they send in Reavers and Battlecruisers with Yamato Cannons, then send in everything before I can kill everything. What do any of you recommend?
@bzcoolness In my opinion the zerg are horrible in defense terms. Attack. You need to take them one by one. I forgot who is the easiest, it was a long time since I played...I think I will give it a try again =)
Looks air units r better than the ground for this mission. I spent so much time on taking over their resources and I see u've onli put ur hands on one
@Balkons13 Zerg are not bad, they are a misunderstood who were mislead by a creation known as the overmind, who was altered by an outside force known as the hybrid, which if you played the bonus mission you'd know its the combination of the 2 races to make them "perfect". And if you played Starcraft 2 you would know that Kerrigan will save us all because if she dies, we all die. Thus nothing about the Zerg is "evil"
@MrTristram666 Um i mean zergs are bad because of theese actions... I know that in SC2 Kerrigan was cured from her madness... And in HoTS she will be main char... but srsly Zergs are evil... I have a strange feeling that they will destroy everyone at the end(if blizz doesnt decide to make WoSC ^^) Even if Kerrigan will save the universe, the zerg will always be remembered as evil beings for the crimes of overmind...
@MrTristram666 you can say misunderstood or mislead, but that does not wash the crimes away.. just like a person that went insane from something and goes on a killing rampage, that doesn't make him any less guilty..
the Zerg are a tragedy, but they're guilty nonetheless because nothing, absolutely nothing can excuse you from killing and nothing ever will..
personally, I hate that change.. Zerg went from absolutely badass monsters to tragic carebears with spikes and carapaces -,-
With no victims to consume, infest and evolve with, they're just not that badass anymore.
Also, It's not just the outside aspect that defines them as monsters but what they do. Not going after humans or protoss makes a world of difference on that definition my friend :)
@toxicitzi wha? they still are badasses dude, in HOTS, Blizzcon showed in teh campaign that you are evolving the swarm into much deadlier species, that and the most awesome aspect for an all-consuming slave like race: the choice of destroying planets. Literally, as you progress in the game, Iszha asks you on which planet to destroy out of the 4, and eah one makes the swarm uniquely stronger then before. Yes they need a leader otherwise they will become slaves to the hybrid, but that doesnt mean..
@ZergSwarmling right. and I'm gonna trust "teh" words of a guy who uses words like "teh"..
you don't get what I mean at all, do you? when they threaten humanity or life in the universe, that's where the Zerg exceels in being threatening.. if they attack their own, what then? will they evolve off each other, even though they're the exact same race?
You are talking about a different game, I'm talking about what Starcraft's plot changed into..
@toxicitzi wow, just because I type faster then you and caused ONE SINGLE grammar error, and I'm considered an idiot....yup, that's humanity for ya.
where the hell have you been?....and I'm being serious, where in Overminds name have you been? you sound like you don't check up on Blizzcon at all, they literally rely on a leader (kerrigan) , if your talking about the leaked ending (which was false :/), you must realize that the Zerg cannot function without a leader, otherwise (continued)
@toxicitzi ..their weak, carebears of sadness, in fact, after hearing Abathur and Izsha speak, they seem still badass, only caring for the survival of the Swarm, nothing else.
@ZergSwarmling All of the Zerg creatures, even back in SC1, were a sad tragedy.. But, that was a subliminal message in SC1, in SC2 they have to fucking announce it and change Everything we know about the Zerg so that they can make Zerg the Good Guys..
@toxicitzi um...wher ein hell did they say they were the good guys? you mean Tassadar's message? LOL. You really need to play the game and then listen up HOTS's story, especially with Abathur, an original Overmind assistance. their more of a neutral race more then ever, back then when the Overmind was created, the Zerg's really didn't give a rats ass on what lived. However, because of that genetic code overriding them, the Overmind was forced to find the protoss and destroy them, when (continue)
@toxicitzi (continued) it had other plans in mind into benefitting the swarm in other matters, not in war. Because of the genetic code, they were forced to assimilate unique species into their fold, making them war machines and just that. Overall if you listen to the Brood Mothers, Abathur, and Izsha, you will notice that they are actually well-mannered creatures, that seem to perform an class-system much like other insects, like Bees or ants, killing everything around it for the colony.
@toxicitzi so overall, your wrong. Zerg's are NOT a bunch of goody two-shoes, but rather in-between the grey area of good and evil. They don't really care much about anyone else, and only focus upon their 'family' or swarm. This is why they are called 'pure'. You can't really corrupt them, and only trust in one another or their own Queen or Overmind. Their not exactly evil either, but still, look at one wrong, and it might ask it's Queen if its ok to rip you apart and devour you.
@ZergSwarmling really? a race that was shaped to destroy everything and evolve endlessly is not guilty?
yeah, I'm gonna stop right here because you're clearly going off topic with what you're saying, you're talking to me about morals in a game that already shown there were no morals for the Zerg in SC1 + BW..
so, just take a hint and stop right here.. you're talking to me a different SC game all together
@toxicitzi what?....where the hell are you getting me saying MORALS? I literally just told you the insect hivemind behavior, and told you how the zerg react. Even in BW, and sc1, the zergs were well-mannered, and didn't give a rats ass on any other species, ESPECIALLY Terran, thinking their just pests rather then a threat. They still think the same thing in HOTS. Read up your history please, and stop being arrogant :/ did you even WATCH or READ the blizzcon updates on Starcraft?...no? please do.
@toxicitzi further more I didn't say they were guilty, proof is they are, what I'M SAYING HERE is this: They don't give a fuck. Period. Their neutral, they don't give a fuck they slaughtered a human baby, they only care about their own race and survival of that race. If they were truly evil, they wouldn't stop in slaughtering just the protoss and a few terran colonies and planets, but rather jump to the Terrans after, slaughtering all just for kicks and giggles.
@toxicitzi goddamn dude, are you this hard-headed that you cannot even check up wikia or blizzards lore to realize that? :/ the Zergs only cared about their own priorities, since when the HELL did they turn nice and go "HERE LEMME HELP U TERRAN LOLOOLLOOL"?, from what I played, saw, and read through their novels, they didn't change at all. In fact, the proof on how neutral is in their leadership. They only focus and follow their own leaders orders, nothing else (aka they can't be 'free')
@toxicitzi so I'll stop here and let you think and clear your head, since you seem too ignorant. 1. ALL zerg missions, aspects, and focuses were on survival, no evil, no good. Survival is a living instinct in every species, this doesn't make them innocent, which is supposed to be natural. (in sc1, you were helping the Overmind find a way to bypass the genetic code, which was a success, in BW, you were guided in making the Swarm the most dominant force in the sector: Survival of the fittest.)
@ZergSwarmling Are we talking the same Game here? because I've never seen a yt comment jump from point to point so radically..
Are you even aware that what I'm talking about is Starcraft, and NOT Starcraft 2? let me tell you something, the only one ignorant here is you for not even trying to understand what I was talking about.. I knew you were talking about HOTS from the very start, but somehow you missed the "IN SC1" part of my comments.. Everything in SC 2 comes from SC 1
@toxicitzi again you don't make much sense. I was talking about SC1 as well, but you seemed to ignore that part completely. the zerg haven't changed in their status quote, so why are you picking at it and saying their guilty yet goody two-shoes aliens?
@ZergSwarmling Because they wiped all life off many, many worlds, even before the Terran-Protoss-Zerg wars.
the point is, SC1 build completely different points in its story when you compare it to SC2, if you played SC1 campaign without even thinking of Anything from SC2 one, you will be listening to a completely different story..
The only link it has to SC2 is the characters' names and the Hybrids' existance, but Zerg being the slaves of hybrids was never pointed or even hinted at in SC1..
@toxicitzi 1. in SC2, the Zerg continue to wipe out and infest worlds right after the 4 years of evolving and total dominance (why? because what's the point in fighting when your the king of the galaxy, but witht eh Dominion growing in power and a new threat, the Swarm finally bustled and stirred with the thirst of destroying again). in HOTS, you get the option of choosing what planet to wipe out and infest, how was the gampaign and story completely different? it seems to chain together nicely.
@ZergSwarmling here's the difference, in SC1 we were never hinted at Zerg being enslaved.. idk why you keep saying there's no difference, enslaved zerg = enslaved orcs, Dark voice and Hybrids = Archimonde & the burning legion..
Either way you look at it, this story has been repeated by Blizzard.. it's annoying seeing how they are using it again.
@toxicitzi I think you don't really understand the Zerg's true goals, even in SC1 they hinted they weren't into destroying everything, but rather reaching their genetic code into destroying and assimilating the Protoss into being a perfect being (Hybrid:HINT HINT, both SC1, SC2, and BW all gave out hints that the zerg and protoss were meant to become as one, and be slaves to a 'far greater' power, what did you obviously think Samir Duran just said that crap to scare Zeratul? really?)
@ZergSwarmling assimilating the protoss? the Zerg couldn't do that once they wiped out their home planet of Aiur, because their genetic codes couldn't assimilate..
It was some random guy named Duran that conducted experiments and altered the genetic code of protoss with zerg tissue, in a cryo-hibernation statis cell. and, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense how can their organism not be aware of that Zerg DNA in their bodies..
Maybe some more alterations, who knows, we're never told..
@toxicitzi I have both games and even before SC2, I knew the protoss and were meant to be one :/ to become Hybrids. I also had a hunch that the Zerg made Kerrigan to continue the survival of the swarm and to be independent as one, not forced to join with a race they probably don't give a rats ass, and probably even hate with disgust. Why WOULDN'T the Overmind do that? to continue the survival of the Swarm witht he most powerful being in the sector. protoss were also meant to be slaves as well.
@toxicitzi Tragic care bears? They're parasites that steal the bodies of others and horrifcally mutate them to serve their own purposes. And that was before the Xel'Naga showed up and super powered them. While they were steared along their destructive path they were always going to infest, destroy and consume, only thing that changed was the targets.
@timemonkey zerg didn't do anything until the xel'naga showed up the overmind was programmed to do exactly what he was supposed to : make sure the zerg survive and not splinter and scatter and die and so he knew he will die because of what a fatass he is so he made kerrigan and they weren't always going to infest, destroy and consume that is not their purpose
@IsArtanisAzn The zerg were always parasites that forcibly mutated their hosts. The Xel'Naga just made them bigger, tougher and smarter and then added in the Overmind to unite them in purpose. The Xel'Naga took traites that were already present in the species they tampered with and simply enhanced them.
@TheSimplePast don't forget Executor 2, the one from SC and the one from Brood War were 2 different executors, in fact I just recently learned that Artanis was the executor from the first one, no wonder he apeeared out of nowhere in brood war
"i dont think so admiral. you see, at this point... im pretty much the queen bitch of the universe and not all of your little soldiers or space ships will stand in my way again"
God, this story is so much better than that of SC2.
The SC2 kerrigan really was not the same as this one, th real queen bitch of the universe showed no mercy and killed unconditionally, the SC2 version was really lacking.
@NightHawk92929 well of course you didn't play directly as her (& don't forget she saw the same future as Jim & Zeratul) but all this will change in the next campaign^^
whether or not DuGalle was disgraced he had a duty to get the remainder of his force home if he had been alive when the zerg caught it might have been different
@Virtuoso883 You underestimate Zerg biotechnology. Zerg tech is different but possibly more advance than terran tech and on par with toss tech. There's a reason why the Overmind was a towering brain. The Zerg also use wormholes to travel the galaxy.
@omfg4000 Fenix is Tassadar's successor, and the Matriarch is the leader of Shakuras. Two different people dead due to Kerrigan. Also, the reason she is called the "matriarch" is because she is looked at as a "mother."
I really liked this mission. Sooooo much easier than Zerg 8. I took out the Protoss first with mass Hydras, moved on to the UED with the leftovers, and built up up guardians and devourers for Mengsk. For base defense, just make sure you got plenty of sunkens/spores and keep a group of hydralisks and zerglings around for tanks, nukes, and cruisers. Make sure to swap out overlords too, medics really like to blind them so they can't spot for ghosts.
And finally(it's more suitable story wise too) DuGalle. There,I used full force-Ultralisks,Guardians,Mutas,Devourers,Hydralisks,Zerglings,Lurkers,Queens anything.Overlords again because of Wraiths.
For defending, use Lurkers,Sunken and Spore colonies and Hydralisks.Scourge will be very handy too.Have a small group of Mutas and Overlords ready to spot nuking Ghosts and kill them. For Battlecruisers, use Hydralisks and Defiler's Dark Swarm-already available when hatched BCs can't harm Hydras in there
The best way to deal with this mission is to destroy the Protoss first and early.Again, hatch swarms of Zerglings and Hydralisks with escort from Overlords due to Dark Templars and Arbiter's cloaking.Send two large forces in a pincer attack to the main Protoss base.If you let them get Maelstorm,Psionic Storm etc it will be a lot harder if not impossible.
Next I went for Mengsk-****ing nukes. An air force of Guardians,Mutas and Devourers along with Overlords(Wraiths) is more than enough.
On Artanis: Rember how in SC1 that the player was a character in the game(ex: how Kerrigan calls the player cereabrate)? Well Artanis was the protoss campaign "player" SC1 (before broodwar)
@phillipe113 No, she's still the ruler of the Zerg. Now she can lead the Swarm into battle against the hybrids, and the Fallen One, the Dark Voice, the Voice in the Darkness, will fall to her blades.
..back when Hydralisks were good units...

MrTristram666 7 months ago
@MrTristram666 Um i mean zergs are bad because of theese actions... I know that in SC2 Kerrigan was cured from her madness... And in HoTS she will be main char... but srsly Zergs are evil... I have a strange feeling that they will destroy everyone at the end(if blizz doesnt decide to make WoSC ^^) Even if Kerrigan will save the universe, the zerg will always be remembered as evil beings for the crimes of overmind...
Balkons13 7 months ago
@MrTristram666 you can say misunderstood or mislead, but that does not wash the crimes away.. just like a person that went insane from something and goes on a killing rampage, that doesn't make him any less guilty..
the Zerg are a tragedy, but they're guilty nonetheless because nothing, absolutely nothing can excuse you from killing and nothing ever will..
personally, I hate that change.. Zerg went from absolutely badass monsters to tragic carebears with spikes and carapaces -,-
seriously, wtf.
toxicitzi 5 months ago 6
@toxicitzi They are still badass monsters. That's the reason why they are the only hope of saving the universe.
Tomoyuki976 5 months ago
@Tomoyuki976 They're not :)
With no victims to consume, infest and evolve with, they're just not that badass anymore.
Also, It's not just the outside aspect that defines them as monsters but what they do. Not going after humans or protoss makes a world of difference on that definition my friend :)
toxicitzi 5 months ago
@toxicitzi wha? they still are badasses dude, in HOTS, Blizzcon showed in teh campaign that you are evolving the swarm into much deadlier species, that and the most awesome aspect for an all-consuming slave like race: the choice of destroying planets. Literally, as you progress in the game, Iszha asks you on which planet to destroy out of the 4, and eah one makes the swarm uniquely stronger then before. Yes they need a leader otherwise they will become slaves to the hybrid, but that doesnt mean..
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@ZergSwarmling right. and I'm gonna trust "teh" words of a guy who uses words like "teh"..
you don't get what I mean at all, do you? when they threaten humanity or life in the universe, that's where the Zerg exceels in being threatening.. if they attack their own, what then? will they evolve off each other, even though they're the exact same race?
You are talking about a different game, I'm talking about what Starcraft's plot changed into..
toxicitzi 4 months ago
@toxicitzi wow, just because I type faster then you and caused ONE SINGLE grammar error, and I'm considered an idiot....yup, that's humanity for ya.
where the hell have you been?....and I'm being serious, where in Overminds name have you been? you sound like you don't check up on Blizzcon at all, they literally rely on a leader (kerrigan) , if your talking about the leaked ending (which was false :/), you must realize that the Zerg cannot function without a leader, otherwise (continued)
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@toxicitzi ..their weak, carebears of sadness, in fact, after hearing Abathur and Izsha speak, they seem still badass, only caring for the survival of the Swarm, nothing else.
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@ZergSwarmling All of the Zerg creatures, even back in SC1, were a sad tragedy.. But, that was a subliminal message in SC1, in SC2 they have to fucking announce it and change Everything we know about the Zerg so that they can make Zerg the Good Guys..
toxicitzi 4 months ago
@toxicitzi um...wher ein hell did they say they were the good guys? you mean Tassadar's message? LOL. You really need to play the game and then listen up HOTS's story, especially with Abathur, an original Overmind assistance. their more of a neutral race more then ever, back then when the Overmind was created, the Zerg's really didn't give a rats ass on what lived. However, because of that genetic code overriding them, the Overmind was forced to find the protoss and destroy them, when (continue)
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@toxicitzi (continued) it had other plans in mind into benefitting the swarm in other matters, not in war. Because of the genetic code, they were forced to assimilate unique species into their fold, making them war machines and just that. Overall if you listen to the Brood Mothers, Abathur, and Izsha, you will notice that they are actually well-mannered creatures, that seem to perform an class-system much like other insects, like Bees or ants, killing everything around it for the colony.
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@toxicitzi so overall, your wrong. Zerg's are NOT a bunch of goody two-shoes, but rather in-between the grey area of good and evil. They don't really care much about anyone else, and only focus upon their 'family' or swarm. This is why they are called 'pure'. You can't really corrupt them, and only trust in one another or their own Queen or Overmind. Their not exactly evil either, but still, look at one wrong, and it might ask it's Queen if its ok to rip you apart and devour you.
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@ZergSwarmling really? a race that was shaped to destroy everything and evolve endlessly is not guilty?
yeah, I'm gonna stop right here because you're clearly going off topic with what you're saying, you're talking to me about morals in a game that already shown there were no morals for the Zerg in SC1 + BW..
so, just take a hint and stop right here.. you're talking to me a different SC game all together
toxicitzi 4 months ago
@toxicitzi what?....where the hell are you getting me saying MORALS? I literally just told you the insect hivemind behavior, and told you how the zerg react. Even in BW, and sc1, the zergs were well-mannered, and didn't give a rats ass on any other species, ESPECIALLY Terran, thinking their just pests rather then a threat. They still think the same thing in HOTS. Read up your history please, and stop being arrogant :/ did you even WATCH or READ the blizzcon updates on Starcraft?...no? please do.
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@toxicitzi further more I didn't say they were guilty, proof is they are, what I'M SAYING HERE is this: They don't give a fuck. Period. Their neutral, they don't give a fuck they slaughtered a human baby, they only care about their own race and survival of that race. If they were truly evil, they wouldn't stop in slaughtering just the protoss and a few terran colonies and planets, but rather jump to the Terrans after, slaughtering all just for kicks and giggles.
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@toxicitzi goddamn dude, are you this hard-headed that you cannot even check up wikia or blizzards lore to realize that? :/ the Zergs only cared about their own priorities, since when the HELL did they turn nice and go "HERE LEMME HELP U TERRAN LOLOOLLOOL"?, from what I played, saw, and read through their novels, they didn't change at all. In fact, the proof on how neutral is in their leadership. They only focus and follow their own leaders orders, nothing else (aka they can't be 'free')
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@toxicitzi so I'll stop here and let you think and clear your head, since you seem too ignorant. 1. ALL zerg missions, aspects, and focuses were on survival, no evil, no good. Survival is a living instinct in every species, this doesn't make them innocent, which is supposed to be natural. (in sc1, you were helping the Overmind find a way to bypass the genetic code, which was a success, in BW, you were guided in making the Swarm the most dominant force in the sector: Survival of the fittest.)
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@ZergSwarmling Are we talking the same Game here? because I've never seen a yt comment jump from point to point so radically..
Are you even aware that what I'm talking about is Starcraft, and NOT Starcraft 2? let me tell you something, the only one ignorant here is you for not even trying to understand what I was talking about.. I knew you were talking about HOTS from the very start, but somehow you missed the "IN SC1" part of my comments.. Everything in SC 2 comes from SC 1
toxicitzi 4 months ago
@toxicitzi again you don't make much sense. I was talking about SC1 as well, but you seemed to ignore that part completely. the zerg haven't changed in their status quote, so why are you picking at it and saying their guilty yet goody two-shoes aliens?
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago

toxicitzi 4 months ago
@ZergSwarmling Because they wiped all life off many, many worlds, even before the Terran-Protoss-Zerg wars.
the point is, SC1 build completely different points in its story when you compare it to SC2, if you played SC1 campaign without even thinking of Anything from SC2 one, you will be listening to a completely different story..
The only link it has to SC2 is the characters' names and the Hybrids' existance, but Zerg being the slaves of hybrids was never pointed or even hinted at in SC1..
toxicitzi 4 months ago
@toxicitzi 1. in SC2, the Zerg continue to wipe out and infest worlds right after the 4 years of evolving and total dominance (why? because what's the point in fighting when your the king of the galaxy, but witht eh Dominion growing in power and a new threat, the Swarm finally bustled and stirred with the thirst of destroying again). in HOTS, you get the option of choosing what planet to wipe out and infest, how was the gampaign and story completely different? it seems to chain together nicely.
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@ZergSwarmling here's the difference, in SC1 we were never hinted at Zerg being enslaved.. idk why you keep saying there's no difference, enslaved zerg = enslaved orcs, Dark voice and Hybrids = Archimonde & the burning legion..
Either way you look at it, this story has been repeated by Blizzard.. it's annoying seeing how they are using it again.
toxicitzi 4 months ago
@toxicitzi I think you don't really understand the Zerg's true goals, even in SC1 they hinted they weren't into destroying everything, but rather reaching their genetic code into destroying and assimilating the Protoss into being a perfect being (Hybrid:HINT HINT, both SC1, SC2, and BW all gave out hints that the zerg and protoss were meant to become as one, and be slaves to a 'far greater' power, what did you obviously think Samir Duran just said that crap to scare Zeratul? really?)
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@ZergSwarmling assimilating the protoss? the Zerg couldn't do that once they wiped out their home planet of Aiur, because their genetic codes couldn't assimilate..
It was some random guy named Duran that conducted experiments and altered the genetic code of protoss with zerg tissue, in a cryo-hibernation statis cell. and, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense how can their organism not be aware of that Zerg DNA in their bodies..
Maybe some more alterations, who knows, we're never told..
toxicitzi 4 months ago
@toxicitzi I have both games and even before SC2, I knew the protoss and were meant to be one :/ to become Hybrids. I also had a hunch that the Zerg made Kerrigan to continue the survival of the swarm and to be independent as one, not forced to join with a race they probably don't give a rats ass, and probably even hate with disgust. Why WOULDN'T the Overmind do that? to continue the survival of the Swarm witht he most powerful being in the sector. protoss were also meant to be slaves as well.
ZergSwarmling 4 months ago
@toxicitzi Tragic care bears? They're parasites that steal the bodies of others and horrifcally mutate them to serve their own purposes. And that was before the Xel'Naga showed up and super powered them. While they were steared along their destructive path they were always going to infest, destroy and consume, only thing that changed was the targets.
timemonkey 3 months ago
@timemonkey zerg didn't do anything until the xel'naga showed up the overmind was programmed to do exactly what he was supposed to : make sure the zerg survive and not splinter and scatter and die and so he knew he will die because of what a fatass he is so he made kerrigan and they weren't always going to infest, destroy and consume that is not their purpose
IsArtanisAzn 3 months ago
@IsArtanisAzn The zerg were always parasites that forcibly mutated their hosts. The Xel'Naga just made them bigger, tougher and smarter and then added in the Overmind to unite them in purpose. The Xel'Naga took traites that were already present in the species they tampered with and simply enhanced them.

God, this story is so much better than that of SC2.
The SC2 kerrigan really was not the same as this one, th real queen bitch of the universe showed no mercy and killed unconditionally, the SC2 version was really lacking.
NightHawk92929 10 months ago
@NightHawk92929 I think that she lacked power because she didn't have had the cerebrate. She disposed him after BroodWar.
So it's actually the Magistrate, Cerebrate 1, Executor, Captain and the Cerebrate 2 who did all the dirty work!

LoveMachine103 1 year ago
And finally(it's more suitable story wise too) DuGalle. There,I used full force-Ultralisks,Guardians,Mutas,Devourers,Hydralisks,Zerglings,Lurkers,Queens anything.Overlords again because of Wraiths.
For defending, use Lurkers,Sunken and Spore colonies and Hydralisks.Scourge will be very handy too.Have a small group of Mutas and Overlords ready to spot nuking Ghosts and kill them. For Battlecruisers, use Hydralisks and Defiler's Dark Swarm-already available when hatched BCs can't harm Hydras in there
7heaven100 1 year ago
The best way to deal with this mission is to destroy the Protoss first and early.Again, hatch swarms of Zerglings and Hydralisks with escort from Overlords due to Dark Templars and Arbiter's cloaking.Send two large forces in a pincer attack to the main Protoss base.If you let them get Maelstorm,Psionic Storm etc it will be a lot harder if not impossible.
Next I went for Mengsk-****ing nukes. An air force of Guardians,Mutas and Devourers along with Overlords(Wraiths) is more than enough.
