Stupid Disney and News Corp! News Corp changed MTM to Fox Family and Disney bought Fox Family just to turn it into ABC Family! Well I kind of like ABC family though.
@AaronStudios3 Um, 20th Century Fox owns the MTM Enterprises library, both before and after News Corporation--20th's parent company--and Haim Saban sold what was then called Fox Family but now called ABC Family to the Walt Disney Company. News and Saban's sale did NOT include the MTM library, but did include the 'Power Rangers' franchise. Haim Saban bought the 'Power Rangers' back from Disney back in 2010. After nine years on Fox and seven on ABC, the 'Power Rangers' now airs on Nickelodeon.
If "Bewitched" had been produced by MTM(which did'nt exist when the series debuted in 1964) the kitten would either mouth Samantha's "WEEEELLL!?" or Darrin's [Dick York version] "SAMANTHAAA!!"
What's next, the Mozart laugh? Mimsie says "toodles" in David Spade's voice? Screaming in James Fox's voice? Or something like "See ya" in Thomas Hulce's voice?
If that was the logo for "The Simpsons" it would be for the first nine seasons. In 1998 MTM was absorbed by 20th Century Fox. Season 10 onward would still have the 20th Century Fox logo.
I like how MTM is so similar to MGM. The only difference is that MGM has the lion, and MTM has Mary Tyler Moore's cute orange kitten, Mimsie. One other thing both MTM and MGM have in common other then having cats as icons is that 20th Century Fox distributes their movies and television programs onto DVD. Well, at least that is what I've seen whenever I'm browsing through the DVD sections at Wal*Mart, Best Buy, or wherever else DVDs are sold.
Yep -- it's nothing more than a parody of MGM. MTM folded into 20th Century Fox in 1998 (I think), and News Corp. (owner of Fox) now has the rights to MTM's back catalog.
MGM's films are not distributed by Fox, however -- MGM was acquired by Sony in 2004. According to Wikipedia, their pre-1986 library is owned and distributed by Turner Entertainment. MGM still exists (as can be seen by the "MGM DVD" banner on their DVDs' covers), but Columbia TriStar distributes their present-day films.
@1985Nebraska Actually, Mimsie, the cat, was gotten at a local Human Society and was owned by a Mary Tyler Moore Show staffer (a secretary or something, i don't know) :). At least that's what Mary said in her auto-biography After All.
not only that, Simpsons exec producer James L. Brooks was once employed by MTM until 1978, when he and three others left to form the John Charles Walters Company (which produced Taxi and The Associates for Paramount Television)
I LIKE THE PART WHERE HE SAID, "Do'h!"

I got a suggestion: Mimsie screams "SEGA!" As well as Mimsie doing the choir singing "Sega" from the 16 bit Sonic games. How do those sound?

The Suite Life On Deck: Mimsie says "YAY ME!" (in Brenda Song's voice)
Hannah Montana: Miley Cyrus lip-syncs Mimsie's "meow"
Sonny With A Chance: Mimsie says "YEEOW!" (in Demi Lovato's voice)

@ddavenport Luckily, we won't be seeing Mimsie on any of those shows.

I wonder what it's like having that logo on the simpsons plus 20th century fox
gwizz77 2 years ago
Some of the variants of Mimsie on "The Simpsons"
1. Mimsie burping in episodes where Homer burps, especially the episode "A Star is Burns".
2. Mimsie screaming like a girl in the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes.
3. Mimsie saying "Ho ho ho" in the Christmas episodes.
Could you reedit the closing credits of "The Simpsons" to feature Mimsie the Cat?

I would watch the simpsons if this logo was on today or FOX use MTM to host the Simpsons and use this as the closing logo!

Indeed, Seiko, for a period of a few years in the 80s-90s. Cost them the franchise.
