  • the background singers are asking, wtf are these lyrics?

  • Beautiful~~~~~~~

  • This was a concert for human kind and ones that never have had a real true full meal in their entire life! Like the lucky Americans with garbage disposals! The food down our garbage disposals look Soo good to them! Think about it! Our trash is a feast for the starving eyes!!!!

  • 1971 - We just lost Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Jim Morrison and the Beatles had just broken up. Everything is temporary.

  • Leave all of your religious bull**** at the door. This is great music, George was Hare Krishna and I apreciate that and the song is obviously dedicated to that. You christians are all the same, you try to stamp your ways on everybody and everything you do and see. I don´t care if you have been christian for 30 or bloody 90 years, you are just as messed up in the head and I sincererly don't give a rats arse about your beliefs. Just let great music be, Hare Krishna everybody.

  • @Theoneandonlykop We'll if that's the sort of attitude and speech you promote I am glad not to share whatever beliefs or cult you are preaching I AM here to listen to George Harrison.

  • The very own Geroge Harrison said, it dont matter how you call him just as long as you believe in him, so please stop fighting about who is who.

  • My favorite Beatle performing one of my favorite songs! Bob Geldof who was praised for organizing the Live Aid in 1985 and 2005 wasn't the very first one to.....

  • I wish I could have been there :')

  • George is in the Sky.....this concert was a charity to raise funds for people living in Africa.........

  • @romantic1234 um...no it was for the people of bangladesh, which is directly east of india (aka in asia)

  • The jesus of music.

  • Thanx & grateful to u for wht u have done for Bangladesh....Stay in peace Guru where ever u are!:)

  • is it a gibson or a epiphone guitar on wich george is playing?please let me now

  • REASON, EMOTION & TRUTH!

Here comes the Son, here comes the Son, the Son of God.....the Lord God Jesus!

and I say, it's all right! Amen! George Harrison's god is not the Lord God Jesus, George is singing to his god Lucifer in this song called 'MY SWEET LORD.' Sad fact.

    Private Investigator Sinne

    U.S.A. Washington

  • @TruthTeller878 You are just crazy.

  • @TruthTeller878 ...youre only on here to aggravate....Harrison never sang to or worshiped Lucifer and you know it..dumbass

  • Jesus /Krishna Who cares the message is peace . How many people have died arguing the pros and cons , of their religious point of view!

  • Eric claptons lead part sounds way better than the studio one

  • Rest in paradise.

  • A mesma emoção se repete ao ouvir esta música incrivel na voz do nosso querido George Harrison, tantos anos se passaram mas o poder dela entranha em nossas almas...

  • Divine bliss!

    Om Sai Ram.

    <3

  • 1. the beatles are better than any singer ever. this includes those who use autotune.

    2. the beatles don't use autotune.

this therefore, makes the beatles even better than all those pop singers than we thought.

  • How Ironic. George is on the same stage as "slowhand"? Didn't Clapton steal Patty Boyd from George? Anyway, great clip and a beautiful song.

  • @gvalley07 Yes it's ironic but not really weird, because they were still friends even after that Patty was with Clapton.

  • The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna movement, is a Hindu Gaudiya Vaishnava religious organization.

  • He is actually singing Hare Krishna and not about Jesus.

  • @lsailor . Jesus IS Krishna. So it is indeed about the 'all supreme' God.....read up on it google it.........

  • @lschultz1000 JESUS S GOT nothing to do with khrisna there r @ very different religions Christianity and hindu believes< oNLY jESUS IS THE SON OF THE aLMIGHTY GOD , peace

  • @tikizia1981 - I understand your concerns. As a Christian for almost 30 years I strongly believe that Jesus IS the "name of the Supreme'....and that if you are seeking "The Supreme' you will indeed find HIM. Christ is beyond 'religion'.....Knock on the door and it will open....seek and you shall find......Jesus is the Christ. Christ is our all and in all (situations). God is BIGGER.......He IS "SUPREME"......let God do his work in the heart of the seeker. Let them find the LOVE they are seeking

  • @lschultz1000 Thanks for t support, as a Christian you need to believe that only by Jesus u get to God, 'Is a normal thing today to say that even non believers in Jesus can go to Heaven,If u r trully a Christian u need to understand that only one way and that is through JC ,,, I hope George found this truth as someone said and saw the Light,,,,

  • @tikizia1981 I do believe that.....I'm saying that God is able to reach the hearts of those genuine 'seekers'...let God be God....I pray George found The Supreme which we know is Christ. He was a seeker. Billy Preston playing 'My Sweet Lord'...was saved and we KNOW who he was singing too. God is able. We need to LOVE and honor all who are seeking....for it is by grace we are saved. Remember HE is able. He is the Light of the World. God bless you!

  • @lsailor

  • @lsailor Krishna is a name of the Supreme. It means "all- attractive." Anything that might attract you has its source in the Supreme. The Supreme is the Christ......

  • Krishna is a name of the Supreme. It means "all- attractive." Anything that might attract you has its source in the Supreme.

  • @lsailor Hare Krishna = Jesus = Allah !! God is ONE !!

  • @shankar313 Oh so in that case he's singing to himself?

  • My Sweet Lord is a beautiful song, and knowing Jesus is the sweetest thing life has to offer. Want to truly experience life? Let go of your own life, let go of sin, and embrace him with everything you've got. Don't split your love between Jesus and a cheap imitation. Take a high view of Christ and his work, and do not accept anything less. Then the words of this song will be a reality in your life.

  • @gajaw999 It's a actually song about his devotion to Krishna hence the hare hare Krishna mantra.

  • Love to see different Beatles separate from the band shows how talented they all where.

  • George Harrison - My Sweet Lord (Concert for Bangla Desh)

    FANTASTIC THANKS:):)

  • omg , i M 16,YIKES

  • Does it really matter what "type" this song is? It's beautiful from start to finish.

  • it was a gospel song, billy preston showed him how to write one :)

  • My sweet George... <3

  • My guitar gently weeps for you, George RIP

  • One of THE greatest GOSPEL songs ever.

  • @shaneo43 not a gospel song. george harrison was a hindu so this song has nothing to do with the bible. the "sweet lord" he is refering to is krishna. maybe learn a little about the song before you catagorize its genre.

  • @Vip3rAce

he became christian a short time before his death.or not?

in his song "awaiting on you all" you can find phrases which refers to christian beliefs.

    tell me if i´m wrong

  • @lostioz95 He believed In Jesus but he had a difficulty with Catholicism outward rites. He wanted a personal faith in the Lord. His eastern Hinu beliefs along with his Christian faith in Jesus was his prayer in the song Hear Me Lord.

  • @accordionreid

    thank you.^^ that´s interesting

  • @lostioz95 Billy Preston was a "born again" Christian and he had known the Beatles for a long time. George and Billy's friendship were perhaps the closest in musicianship working together more closely with Ringo than with John and Paul. But I think his faith in Jesus had a great influence on George and vice versa.

  • Those phrases apply to the same core belief that is religion. Whether studying Jesus, Buddha or Allah, you're interpreting a message of peace and understanding that through visions (OBE's) go beyond the physical world.

Like Harrison and McLaughlin through Shankar and Shakti, found the one truth in consciousness in the east, westerners are increasingly realizing the inner peace and prosperity brought on by meditation.

Finance, clothing and rituals are unessential though diving religious elements.

  • (((((((((George)))))))))) played such a wonderful part in The History of Music.

  • Goerge arranged the concert for us, Bangladeshis. My fav' 'Beatle', he's more than what 'Beatle' could offer. My respect lies here from Bangladesh. You're missed, George! :)

Thank you for the 'Concert for Bangladesh', 1st ever concert for charity! Bangladesh is indebted forever.

  • what the fuck george why were you using a capo you are a fking pro not a newbie :S

  • @85000 ... I think George knows what he is doing. I have an inkling that he knows a bit more about music than what you do don't you reckon!

  • @BarnLes jaja well im a guitarist and i never use a capo and you can see that the pros like clapton, page , beck, van halen, hendrix never used a capo :D so do your homework before argumenting dumbass

  • Comment removed

  • @85000 u know the guitarists u mentioned aren't really known for using acoustic instruments and a capo is mainly used for acoustic guitars it makes it easier to play on just one part of the guitar duh.

  • Only 110.000 views? You'd think it would be 110 million.

    This is a classic.

  • A wonderful legacy he left us with, we should all try to strive for his love of the fellow man..

  • @Sabejalock Amen!

  • hare krishna!

  • Definitivamente eres uno de los grandes GEORGE y la melodia my swet loord es una de mis favoritas saludos a todos los fans de los beatles

  • who cares if people use correct capitalization or punctuation? the only thing that bothers me is bad spelling. maybe people are just to lazy to press the shift button... anyways, love the music!!!

  • Hare Krishna George. Rest in Peace.

  • i love thsi song, the beatles, and i'm 14

  • LOVE

  • zeppelinman69 and 96aromaz were d same im 13 and i am addicted to old songs tooo.

  • @gnrjaj I wouldn't say addicted, more like ATTATCHED.

  • good

  • you think he got slaghtered for rippin off hes so fine by the chiffons with this song and then he got a songwriting phbia because of it. who cares its a beautiful song and everybody does it nowadays!! and apologies to obamaequalsoneterm i thumbed down your comment by mistake instead of givin it the thumbs up!!

  • yes, I doubt he consciously ripped that off, it's a little like it but a billion times more soulful and uplifting.

  • Maestro, nada mas que decir.

  • Look at the music then and now and tell me that this generation isn't getting screwed and ripped off!? I feel so blessed being able to grow up with this music! Rest in peace Sir George!

  • dude i'm 12 years old and this is my favorite kind of music! i hate the music there is these days! it sucks!

  • lol same but im 13

  • Good for you Zep!

  • aw bless you,

when you're not texting, try to use a capital I.

  • I grew up in the 50s, 60s and 70s. You couldn't buy that from me for a billion bucks.

  • I grew up in the eighties (I'll pay YOU to take that) and nineties, not quite so bad...

  • @obamaequalsoneterm I love your comment and your username!

  • George Harrison = Beatle's secret weapon

  • @Stonecold10215 Those four musicians were surely an abolute highlight in the Pop music. But, don'forget, in the the late 70ties and early 80ties there was Police, Duran Duran, Frankie goes to Hollywood, and, of course, the great Eric Clapton. Shakira isn't bad, so I look optimistic in the future. Every era produces it's genius, and bad music was endemic in Beatles time as it is today.

  • this song its so powerful

makes you just want to be with him, and noone else

you are great George, thank you for making this for all of us

  • I'm just learning this song at the moment and it is so inspirational. Rest in Peace George.

  • Live Forever George

  • Today is the eight aniversary of George Harrison´s death. Rest in peace George, you will always be in our hearts...

  • Eric Clapton played his Fender Strat on "My Sweet Lord" He used the Gibson Byrdland on "While my Guitar Gently Weeps" As for "My Sweet Lord" from the album, I'm not sure which Guitar George used? Could of been his Fender Strat?

  • HE is amazing :DD

  • I was around back then. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

  • I am a Beatles fan since 1963, but I think that George was worth more than a few songs of all these great albums. I have theme all! Best of them all.... The white album.. Kenneth from Karlskrona in southern Sweden

  • I love Geroge Harrison he was a very talented artist and had a unique way of enlightning everything that still endures

  • The Concert For Bangladesh is one of the finest moments from George as a solo artist.

Eric performed it on a Gibson Byrdland hollowbody guitar, and later acknowledged that a solid-body guitar would have been more appropriate.

  • Fucking amazing song. RIP George.

  • i was born in 1987 man i wish i was born maybe 20 something years earlier man i missed out on great music elvis the beatles all of them this is great

  • man - you were born when you were for a purpose - you get to enjoy music from different decades or centuries - take it in and enjoy !

  • R.I.P George Harrison, maybe the "quiet" Beatle, but always found the right words in his songs

  • he seemed to have a unique sense or humor - check out Hard Day's Night. It would have been neat to spend 1 day with the Beatles just hangin out ~

  • When he said he called his hair arthur i almost fell out of my chair

  • I love it when they're messing about in that field and get told off and George says "sorry we hurt your feild mister." He was the best.

  • @jailbreak74andmore Perfectly said brother....

  • @jailbreak74andmore The Quiet One was always the best. Love and miss you, George.

  • George...is amazing!

    I LOVE YOU BABY GEORGE!

  • My mother played this while I was a toddler. It hasn't lost its magic. I feel privileged to have grown up knowing this music. RIP George.

  • My children also grew up listening to his and many other classic rockers. Its funny because they sing along even tho they weren't from that generation. They learned I suppose listenign along with us & our singing.

  • Best song ever.

  • looks like George needs to shave

  • A finer song has never been written.

  • Anyone else remember when the Concert for Bangladesh album first came out?

  • Meeeeeeeee!

  • god bless his soul. what a great guy george was. we should all look up to him as a role model

  • And he did get to see him GOD bless george :o)

  • She's So Fine. I love you George!

  • Rest in peace my friend. God bless you.

  • Ok, beatles are popular. Jesus too! Each one have their public!

    Punkt!

  • John Lennon was the Beatle who said their group was more popular than Jesus, not George Harrison...

  • Robertingo; You are the biggest gassbag on youtube. Only a religious fucking fruitloop like you would bash one of the greatest musicians and most spiritual people of all time. John Lennon was the one that said the Jesus thing, you idiot. George Harrison was religious as Hell. You really need to stop talking about shit you know NOTHING about.

  • George and his music have always been of great inspiration to me.

Like all Beatle albums, I never felt a reason why I shouldn't by each of his post Beatles music.

I have had years, and hopefully many more years, of inner thought, as a result of some of his songs, as well as a laugh at his simple and funny tunes.

Hare Krishna to you too, George.

  • god i love this clip....i watch it all the time...I had to read why Lennon wasn't performing in this concert...it seemed so perfect for him to have been there... apparently he was asked by George and was scheduled to but had a fight with Yoko and left New York...the reason for the fight...George asked that Yoko not attend and John had agreed......

  • George invited John, who said "We would gladly be there!", as George replied "Actually I'm just inviting you". Lennon turned him down instantly.

  • George invited John, who said "We would gladly be there!", as George replied "Actually I'm just inviting you". Lennon turned him down instantly.

  • May he rest in peace. He meant a lot to me and all of us who grew up with the Beatles.

  • Thanks for this. May he rest in peace.

  • unsung beatle, only one not to make goofy music when he left.

  • wow :)

  • I dont know anyone that sounds this great in concert. its beautiful, we all miss you george.

  • i think we were lovers in my other life

  • Yes awesome! I love George...RIp
