Birch Plywood, the rest is Poplar. I sprayed the latex primer and oil paint with an HVLP turbine siphon feed paint gun. The same gun I used my other video.
When you upload a larger file to youtube it is automatically reduced in quality to save space on their server. I get what you're saying about the clients requests. Then the construction makes a lot of sense!
I've built shelving to match 30 year set around a fireplace. he wanted it to curve around the side wall but wanted me to build it his way which tripled the build time on me. Luckily I was working by the hour!
I agree about the Chair Rail and baseboard. Why wouldn't you remove them and simply re-cut them once the cabinet is up? You made the cabinetry more dificult and also lost cabinet space by doing it this way.
But I must say thats a beautiful cabinet. Then again, the video is kind of grainy.
Not so much a loss of space, normally I would have removed the trim and replaced it after resizing - this was a special request to not disturb the trim. My business caters to those with special request. As for the grain I do not know how to improve on the quality of video. I simply took several hi res. still photos and plugged them into a video editor that was already on my computer. After I uploaded it here is when the grain seemed to appear. Insight on this would be greatly appreciated.
There was a special request to leave the shelf/chair rail and baseboard undisturbed. The back of the bottom cabinet is there, I believe what you see is the center divider does not go all the way to the back of the center base cabinet. I did that so wires can be connected from one side of the cabinet to the other... and also increased air flow.
please show some more closer up details of trim and construction.very nice work.i am an ameture cabinet maker myself and could always use more tips and instruction.thank you.
