Besides Nelo Angelo was created by Mundus, it isn't a form of Vergil. Vergil was killed by Mundus at the end of DMC3 and Nelo is just a demonic suit of armour that he put his soul into in order to turn him into a servent.
Nelo Angelo is a part of Vergil about as much as Darth Vaders suit was a part of Anakin Skywalker.

Actually if you want to get technical about it Nero is like Dante uses power in a variety of moves, And they only found pieces of vergil of his nelo angelo armor not vergil himself, Though I wish he came back in the fourth and aids Dante later in the game or like a bloody palace Character to use in Bloody Palace, Oh Dante and Vergil are equal in Strength so actually it would be a Draw between the Two.

Nero wasn't stronger than Dante. In DMC4 when Dante fight with him, he's only playing with Nero... anyway who defited Mundus again?? Dante OFC.
Vergil and Dante fight in different ways. Vergil is based around power - the same attack over and over, and strong, hard hitting strikes. Dante is more based around variety, keeping the enemy guessing as to what attack he would use.
Vergil IS stronger than Dante, but Dante just uses his power in a more clever and efficient way than Vergil. So Dante won - in a way, Dante is stronger because of that.
Don't even make me bring Nero into it. He's nowhere near the same league as those two.
That's the idea. As the saying goes, "He hit a rock much harder than himself". The power strategy only works if you fight somebody with less power than you.
Sanctus was using Full Sparda Mode...so yeah besides Devil Bringer can Absorb other Devils or their parts besides Vergil is dead no point in comparing both of them
@OmegaChosen0 If he was using full Sparda mode he would have had a lot more to throw at you. Only the sons of Sparda can unlock it's full power both Sanctus and Arkham learned that the hard way.
Nero was rather weak compared to Dante and Vergil. Nero merely had an add-on, an extra piece of demonic power - that was the Devil Bringer. Aside from that, he's fully human.
No match at all for Dante or Vergil, if they're being serious and not toying with him like Dante did in DMC4. He didn't need to take a single thing seriously there - he was too powerful. It's why he was so unserious.

@TheGodSpawn999 When Vergil fought the 3 dots (Mundus the emperor of the underworld) at the end of DMC3 he lost and instead of killing him Mundus granted him infinite demonic power in exchange for his will. Kind of like the Darth Vader story where his mind becomes lost in the power he is smothered in.
Nelo Angelo didn't become Vergil, Vergil became Nelo Angelo. The moment where they "last met" is never told in any of the games.

All we see is Nelo rise up , blue smoke pours out of him and we hear a crashing/exploding noise and all that is left of him is his part of the Amulet.
Considering how cold Mundus is about his servants failing him even if Vergil didn't die Mundus would have finished him off anyway. So I think he was destroyed but theres no way of proving it either way
And in DMC1 it said after Sparda rebelled against the demons "he quietly reigned the human world and preserved harmony until his death"

@zilve7 Yes unfortunatly Virgil is dead sucks he was a bad ass character. he dropped his amulet which was his only passage to and from the demon world. but hopefully he will be resurrected later in the series. and yes sparda gave up his powers and sealed the hell gates and lived his life as a human.

You misunderstand-Vergil as the main character. He's not dead, he's alive somewhere and I would guess he would be more interested in reaquiring Yamato. The game would either be Vergil trying to find Dante (after he goes to hell in DMC2) or being Dante's mysterious benefactor.
Dante and Vergil do care about each other, this time round I doubt they would be fighting each other.
@Nic01224 Vergil isn't the main character he isn't even the main antagonist. We saw him once in DMC3 and in DMC1 Dante destroyed what was left of him. Even if his soul is still alive or something the Vergil from DMC3 that everybody wants is never coming back because it wouldn't make any sense.
I really wish the DMC3 fanboys would let the series move on.
They'll find a way to bring him back somehow, even if it's just as a memory or spirit. Capcom said that he'll remain an important part of the franchise waaay back (around the time DMC4 was released) and the fanboys mean that Vergil = moneys.
@darkslavechaos Thats what rubs me the wrong way its not really a good enough reason to bring back someone who is supposed to be out of the picture. I just wish they would grow some balls and do what they want with the story.
I get what you're saying but it's not as if DMC has ever had much of a story. DMC3 was the closest it got and the humanising relationship between the brothers is what drove it. I'd prefer to see more of that than the mess of DMC4's story.
Btw, apparently it was confirmed Verg was Nero's father (and I really can't work out the math on that one, considering Dante's meant to be 29/30 in DMC4) but they decided not to bother actually mentioning that in the plot of the game. -sighs-

@daesukpark Nope afraid not. The closest thing he has is royal guard which if you put enough time in to get it down makes him damn near invincible.
I can't use it to save my life though, it requires way too much commitment to be able to use effectively.

Actually if you want to get technical about it Nero is like Dante uses power in a variety of moves, And they only found pieces of vergil of his nelo angelo armor not vergil himself, Though I wish he came back in the fourth and aids Dante later in the game or like a bloody palace Character to use in Bloody Palace, Oh Dante and Vergil are equal in Strength so actually it would be a Draw between the Two.

@masetr9988 lol. did you play in DMC ? any part of game? this is just that i say : Dante wasn't stronger then Vergil and same Vergil wasn't stronger then Dante. Their were twins, so power of their father was shared. IMO Vergil loose beacose he was proud, he was fighting for himself. Dante fight with heart, for some higher reasons.
Nero wasn't stronger than Dante. In DMC4 when Dante fight with him, he's only playing with Nero... anyway who defited Mundus again?? Dante OFC.

Vergil and Dante fight in different ways. Vergil is based around power - the same attack over and over, and strong, hard hitting strikes. Dante is more based around variety, keeping the enemy guessing as to what attack he would use.
Vergil IS stronger than Dante, but Dante just uses his power in a more clever and efficient way than Vergil. So Dante won - in a way, Dante is stronger because of that.
Don't even make me bring Nero into it. He's nowhere near the same league as those two.

Sanctus was using Full Sparda Mode...so yeah besides Devil Bringer can Absorb other Devils or their parts besides Vergil is dead no point in comparing both of them

Nero was rather weak compared to Dante and Vergil. Nero merely had an add-on, an extra piece of demonic power - that was the Devil Bringer. Aside from that, he's fully human.
No match at all for Dante or Vergil, if they're being serious and not toying with him like Dante did in DMC4. He didn't need to take a single thing seriously there - he was too powerful. It's why he was so unserious.

-DMC 4 (i agree he is looking old like a 40 years old;P cuz he forgot shave)

@omegawolf96 in DMC 3 Dante and Vergil are 19. In DMC intro Trish ask Dante that he is a man who lose brother 10 years ago. so in DMC he got 29 years old. One of ppl who worked at DMC 4 confirmed that Nero is Vergil's son. but this haven't sesne for me . . . Vergil must had 15-6 when he find his "girl" NO SENSE!!!

@TheGodSpawn999 When Vergil fought the 3 dots (Mundus the emperor of the underworld) at the end of DMC3 he lost and instead of killing him Mundus granted him infinite demonic power in exchange for his will. Kind of like the Darth Vader story where his mind becomes lost in the power he is smothered in.
Nelo Angelo didn't become Vergil, Vergil became Nelo Angelo. The moment where they "last met" is never told in any of the games.

All we see is Nelo rise up , blue smoke pours out of him and we hear a crashing/exploding noise and all that is left of him is his part of the Amulet.
Considering how cold Mundus is about his servants failing him even if Vergil didn't die Mundus would have finished him off anyway. So I think he was destroyed but theres no way of proving it either way
And in DMC1 it said after Sparda rebelled against the demons "he quietly reigned the human world and preserved harmony until his death"

@darthkahn45 did u play dmc 1? when you beat him, he rises, his mask is broken remember? and he has spikey hair, and when he "explodes" he drops the amulet. when dante picks it up you hear a womens voice say "happy birthday dante, vergil" then you get sparda sword XD

@zilve7 Yes unfortunatly Virgil is dead sucks he was a bad ass character. he dropped his amulet which was his only passage to and from the demon world. but hopefully he will be resurrected later in the series. and yes sparda gave up his powers and sealed the hell gates and lived his life as a human.

@zilve7 to be perfectlly honest devil may cry has absolutlely no ties to the current storyline their telling, because lady (dmc3) trish (dmc1) nero (dmc4) or anybody else even makes a brief statment. in fact, dante doesnt even have his office. he just randomly goes places in north, south and central america following a complicated plot. its really a pain in the ass lol. but yea, dmc dont follow too closly, they made dante more like vergil, being serious and smartmouthed

You misunderstand-Vergil as the main character. He's not dead, he's alive somewhere and I would guess he would be more interested in reaquiring Yamato. The game would either be Vergil trying to find Dante (after he goes to hell in DMC2) or being Dante's mysterious benefactor.
Dante and Vergil do care about each other, this time round I doubt they would be fighting each other.

@Nic01224 Vergil isn't the main character he isn't even the main antagonist. We saw him once in DMC3 and in DMC1 Dante destroyed what was left of him. Even if his soul is still alive or something the Vergil from DMC3 that everybody wants is never coming back because it wouldn't make any sense.
I really wish the DMC3 fanboys would let the series move on.

They'll find a way to bring him back somehow, even if it's just as a memory or spirit. Capcom said that he'll remain an important part of the franchise waaay back (around the time DMC4 was released) and the fanboys mean that Vergil = moneys.

I get what you're saying but it's not as if DMC has ever had much of a story. DMC3 was the closest it got and the humanising relationship between the brothers is what drove it. I'd prefer to see more of that than the mess of DMC4's story.
Btw, apparently it was confirmed Verg was Nero's father (and I really can't work out the math on that one, considering Dante's meant to be 29/30 in DMC4) but they decided not to bother actually mentioning that in the plot of the game. -sighs-
