Jesus loves you so much that He died on a cross for all our sins, as payment for them, so that we wouldn't have to burn in Hell paying for them ourselves. All we have to do is believe in Him, that He is God, died to save us from our sins, and rose again(defeating death). My grandpa did the same thing to my grandma when he was dieing! He was deciding to go back home from the hospital (which home was 4 hours away) and since there where no cell phones, it wasn't until my dad and grandma got back home that they found out what happened to my grandpa. He didn't want my grandma there to see him die, he held on for so long until she was gone.
