After seeing this clip of the USA Boxing Team training for their time to shine at Beijing and after winning only a Bronze medal, that was PATHEIC. That made me look bad, since I am avid boxing fan, as well an up-and coming boxer too. In watching Shawn Estarda and Javier Molina doing professional now back in their recent fights in 3/272009.I was pissed off with those guys in doing professional well rather that perform that fight back in Beijing. Come 2012 or 2016. I will bring Gold to the USA

The USA Team are a great team of fighters but the rules for Amateur/Olympic boxing is different. It is not about looking good or being a BIG puncher, its about scoring points by punching with force in a targeted area with the white part of the glove. The US team are more of a pro style. Great fighters but not trained for Olympic competition. Russ .Australia

True, Mexico produces many great fighters. This olympic "boxing" is not good for Mexico either, because Mexicans know how to fight. In this "sport", the best strategy is to jab once, then run or tie the opponent up. Combinations cannot be scored, neither are knockdowns or body punches. If you punch me 5 times and I fall to the canvas, that is scored as 1 punch, unless I am Chinese, then I get the point.

I never said anything about race - America has all races. The new scoring system is what is to blame. One point for a punch, this is a new concept. Before, and for all of history, judges picked who won each round. Now they press a button for a punch - a tiny jab is equal to a massive uppercut. Ali could punch a man 4 times in one second - with this new system, he would be lucky to get one point.
of course, there has been an anti-US bias for quite some time, even under the old system. Do you recall Roy Jones lost to a nameless Korean fighter, despite completely dominating the fight. If that fighter had any dignity, he would have given his medal to the man who whooped his ass.

I agree IT is dirty this year. Olympic boxing has become pathetic. I think in these olympics the chinese off the judges to be bias against the americans and russians. The two sports where judges impact the decisions is boxing and gymnastics and if you notice, and if you notice both russia and the US were harshly judged in both. China wants to at least be 2nd in overall medal count and Russia & the US are their competition so they try to take away as many medals from them as possible.

Teddy isnt sounding to critical. I wonder why. I remember back in 92 when Montel Griffith got robbed in the olympics. Al Bernstien was going off with criticism but, the NBC appointed commentator beside him was trying to put a squash to that. Teddy got his marching orders from NBC to just be technical and cut down on the color commentary. None of these foreign boxers outside of Russia, USA and CUba have any pro potential. This scoring is a scam to let weaker boxing like china steal medals.

After seeing this clip of the USA Boxing Team training for their time to shine at Beijing and after winning only a Bronze medal, that was PATHEIC. That made me look bad, since I am avid boxing fan, as well an up-and coming boxer too. In watching Shawn Estarda and Javier Molina doing professional now back in their recent fights in 3/272009.I was pissed off with those guys in doing professional well rather that perform that fight back in Beijing. Come 2012 or 2016. I will bring Gold to the USA

San Bernardino California Official Jimmy Qurioz is a corrupt Official who robs fighters who leave his gym He is by far the most stupidest head coach ,he can only teach a fighter how to take a good ass whoopen because he can't teach the basic fundamentals of boxing. Avoid MTC Boxing club if you want to learn how to box.

I'm a boxer...Still AM's/parttime with work and school...USA olympic boxing team disappointed me.... one bronze medal.. everyone can defend everyone but it was just a sad olympics.

The USA Team are a great team of fighters but the rules for Amateur/Olympic boxing is different. It is not about looking good or being a BIG puncher, its about scoring points by punching with force in a targeted area with the white part of the glove. The US team are more of a pro style. Great fighters but not trained for Olympic competition. Russ .Australia

if thats the case then the blame is on the trainers if they knew that the scoring system is the way it is. i agree it was horrible. but if ur there to win a medal, then you should have known the name of the olympic boxing rules as it is.

if the rules and scoring arent changed and improved by the next olympic games i will have no respect for olympic boxing. it just doesnt make sense that the pinnacle of boxing competition doesnt allow real talent to get the scoring it deservesnot only team USA got cheated...almost everybody did, other shine in the horrible scoring with horrible fighting (italy's russo)

all boxers start amateur so yes it does have something 2do with it. It IS boxing. maybe its not as entertaining but it is part of the sport. and what about Mexicans? some of the best ever were/are mexican

True, Mexico produces many great fighters. This olympic "boxing" is not good for Mexico either, because Mexicans know how to fight. In this "sport", the best strategy is to jab once, then run or tie the opponent up. Combinations cannot be scored, neither are knockdowns or body punches. If you punch me 5 times and I fall to the canvas, that is scored as 1 punch, unless I am Chinese, then I get the point.

I never said anything about race - America has all races. The new scoring system is what is to blame. One point for a punch, this is a new concept. Before, and for all of history, judges picked who won each round. Now they press a button for a punch - a tiny jab is equal to a massive uppercut. Ali could punch a man 4 times in one second - with this new system, he would be lucky to get one point.

of course, there has been an anti-US bias for quite some time, even under the old system. Do you recall Roy Jones lost to a nameless Korean fighter, despite completely dominating the fight. If that fighter had any dignity, he would have given his medal to the man who whooped his ass.

One thing I noticed in these olympics is that to many gooks are advancing while mainly covering up and hardly throwing a punch. So if they survie 4 rounds they win by default. THe Adrade fight was a disgrace by olympic boxing that they gave that fight to the korean who didnt land shit. The judges are favoring asian boxer and hold extreme bias against american boxers. THe americans were 2nd in the world championships with the most medals and now they get nothing here? this is bullshitCorruptcrap

I agree IT is dirty this year. Olympic boxing has become pathetic. I think in these olympics the chinese off the judges to be bias against the americans and russians. The two sports where judges impact the decisions is boxing and gymnastics and if you notice, and if you notice both russia and the US were harshly judged in both. China wants to at least be 2nd in overall medal count and Russia & the US are their competition so they try to take away as many medals from them as possible.

Teddy isnt sounding to critical. I wonder why. I remember back in 92 when Montel Griffith got robbed in the olympics. Al Bernstien was going off with criticism but, the NBC appointed commentator beside him was trying to put a squash to that. Teddy got his marching orders from NBC to just be technical and cut down on the color commentary. None of these foreign boxers outside of Russia, USA and CUba have any pro potential. This scoring is a scam to let weaker boxing like china steal medals.

Boxing WAS my favorite Olympic sport, but the rule changes have made the sport about as exciting as badminton or ping-pong. What Communist Chinese Bureau f'ed up this sport too? Same with the Chinese gymnasts - kids are about 14 years old; that's against the rules - some messed up stuff going on.

Olympic boxing judges should be crucified for their terrible point per punch system. Its not a true measure of which boxer won the fight and they are extremely bias against american boxers by not recognizing inside combinations the body or head. They only count clean outside punches. Olympic boxing is a joke. Technically, if you score the first point, you can LITERALLY run around the ring for the rest of the fight and win. Also, it seems as if all you need to be is Chinese (w/out a doubt the worst boxers ever) to advance. The judging this Olympics has been terribly biased.
