i love this song it reminds me of when i was in high school i had dreams but like this song says life happened and now i have a different dream to be writer and the part about are cloths went out of fashion with or songs is so true .
I had plans all through high school that I was going to be a Registered Nurse, Daddy got hurt bad in the coal mines so I quit school to help him, Mama and my brother out by working full time as a certified nurse's aid, my eyes got bad so had to go on Disability, got married twice, divorced both guys and lived with my parents and brother for nearly twenty years. I took care of my mom right up to the minute she left this world, 5 years later I met a wonderful man..Life Happened.
Dang, that song STILL brings tears to my eyes after all these years. Reminds me of my own high school reunion. I got the award for "Least Changed." Lol still not married, and still preferring to wear dresses. But since then, some changes DID happen. College, skydiving, a dream to study abroad in a place with no promise of white Christmases, ...
a little more i have a daughter cassandra who helps me live a feminine life thru her eyes i hate my skin , my body , but i love and cherish my children id never do anything to harm them or bring them pain like ive lived in my wife loves the man she married not the woman who is inside me ..so i relate to this song on so many levels it hurts ..so i listen when i drink which is alot ...merry christmas ..like me or hate me ..im just trying to live happy..god bless all who believe in him
Hi Colt. I can certainly sympathize with your critical self image. I am all woman: dresses and... well, not as long a hair as I want (see what I mean?), but I'm almost 37 and still never married. Imagine how I must feel, having learned to block the hurt of being practically shunned by guys who caught my eye. Still, I know that my walk with God will be all that matters when I stand before Him and all my loneliness will be forgotten. All our hurts will! Anyway, I'm glad for you and your daughter.

hi i know the feeling all my life i wanted to become a beautiful woman and i dressed up and practiced my makeup and when i got out of school life happened and i tried to live a normal life as a guy ...ha ha now i dress up and try to be pretty for my wife and children ..never got to become a woman ...charlene
