Actually, I used multiple savegame files (see my video "Skip Repetitive Parts of Assassin's Creed on Xbox 360" for details). I played through the whole game without collecting any Digipens or Access Codes - not even the one in Desmond's closet! At each assassination or Interlude, I'd backup the savegame.
To make this video, I loaded up savegames for each interlude and did the pickpockets, etc. Ordinarily you can only pickpocket Vidic once per playthrough.
Haha. No. You can only pickpocket Dr. Vidic once per game. I had to use a savegame exploit in order to pickpocket him at different times. The point of this video was to show how many opportunities there are: Interlude 3 or 4 or 5 or 6, Memory Block 4 or 5 or 6 or 7.
If you've already got his pen, relax. You're done with that part.
An alleged military experiment in Philadelphia where a navy destroyer escort was rendered invisible for a brief period. During this time it was observed 200 miles away in Norfolk Virginia before reappearing in Philadelphia. Crew members aboard complained of severe nausea afterward.
The only ways to replay interludes are to start a new game or roll back to an earlier savegame (see "Skip Repetitive Parts of Assassin's Creed" videos). If you've already finished Memory Block 7 then it's too late to pickpocket Vidic. Sorry.
Of course I loved the last part of the vid but also your perfect description of the major problem about the digipens and co. With the help of your vid everybody should be able to get access to all mails in the game.
i had an idea when i first beat the game. i too figured out the 'table dance' and thought 'why would the developers develope a script or movement for him landing (7:34) if he didnt do any action scenes.' this lead me to believe that he DID do action, and so i spent many a days trying to leave this room, with no such luck. so i still wonder why they have him land.
It could be like Fr34k5zInc said - that Desmond inherited moves from Altaïr because it was easier than developing separate rigs for the two characters.
Besides Desmond being limited to walking and lying down, there are other differences from Altaïr. One is that Desmond is always to the left of center screen. Another is what happens when you push the left thumbstick to the right (3 o'clock). Altaïr walks to the right whereas Desmond walks in a circle.
Desmond has lousy dance moves (Lucy wasn't the slightest bit aroused) but he always throws his hands up for balance when jumping off the table. This is the only place I've seen him do that.
Since the Desmond character is only designed for walking and lying down, I'm a little surprised that they equipped his rig with this move.
I've been up there 4 or 5 times. Do it just like I did in this video - angle for the arm of the chair and press any button (A, Y, etc.) just as you reach it. If Lucy's not sitting in the chair, you can still climb up the back of it.
3:47 Woah, shouldn't you put up a potential spoiler warning?

Is it at all possible to redo the interludes to get Vidic's digipen? I completed without knowing of it xD.

It was a good suggestion. Thanks again.
The metallic sound is part of the song.
