Tithing is NOT a commandment and never was. But Mormonism teaches it as a Command. If a Mormon doesn't pay his 10% he can't get a temple Recommend. If he can't get a TR he can't get his Endowments. No Endowments, no Celestial Kingdom!

I took your advice and looked up tithe in my KJV and as I suspected, there IS NO indication that it was a commandment, in the New Testament OR the Old. I took your advice and looked up tithe in my KJV and as I suspected, there IS NO indication that it was a commandment, in the New Testament OR the Old. Yes, a few people were recorded as paying it but that proves NOTHING! That's like saying these same people drank wine so that means there is a COMMANDMENT to drink wine.

It is an "ORDER"--in this case, an ORDER by god. I'll accept an ORDER given by God that all must pay a tithing. However, since the Law of Moses was mostly done away with by Christ's advent, an ORDER given by Christ in the New Testament would be ideal. Produce something legitimate--you know--just for a change!
