@BlaKSoKsNPinKStripeS It's what we call "scratch tracks" it's just an acoustic version of the song that was probably used so John Alagia (producer of RFS) could get a feel for the song and prepare to record it. It's not an album.

@diegofernandin he usually plays Martins, and he has a custom one called the OMJM. theyre a bit pricey, but it's worth it for the sound.

@diegofernandin Always go for the Martin. Kike yblawl83 said, they can be a bit pricy but they will last forever (sound gets better as guitar ages) and they are hands down the highest quality guitars on the market. Legendary tone, look, feel, sound is amazing and they all have lifetime warranties.

This song reminds me of my grandma who passed away in 1998...her name was Lydia. It also reminds me of a verse in the Bible Matthew 5:14-15 because of the word city & the fact I hid I was a John Mayer fan for years...music greed. I have since repented. John Mayer does not use loops this is a demo, not live, so it has to be a muti track recording, but that doesn't mean that you have to call people fucktards haha...

@mattern First it's not looped. Second it's not live. You are looking for the word "layer" I think. Looped would him playing the verse and chorus once, then using those recordings throughout the song. He simply played the whole song once, then went back and added another layer to the first recording.

You would be right if this wasnt live. What i meant was live looping. The musician would record a certain chord movements (usually with an effect box that comes with this feature) and play it back when he needs that chord progression to add another layer of melody or whatever he/she wants to layer it with Usually used for bands that lacks another rhythm player. Either way, iam not saying u are wrong. =)

Hmm, what turned me to John Mayer was his vocals, and ya I think he somewhat is some sort of inspiration . The way he plays the guitar makes me wanna go out right now and pick one up and learn to play LOL. His voice is just spectacular and I wish I payed more attention to him earlier.
