I first heard this through my crappy laptop speakers and thought it was a cool track. On plugging in my headphones I was quite disappointed when I heard the bass. The track has a much better feel without the walking bassline - which I never thought I'd hear myself say because I love funk!

Well, I think this is very well-layered and produced, and perfect for its time period. It's very anachronistic, though. It's very much like something you'd except to hear as a theme for the 9 o'clock show following The Love Boat! I like the idea, though, that a piece like this can be arranged for every era. That makes it a true classic.

I've known for years that Percy Faith recorded the newer version of Theme From A Summer Place in '76, but this is the first time I've ever heard it. It sounds pretty good. Ironically, the original came on my radio just before I wrote this. I also liked looking at all these lovely ladies in the video. And the dog is cute!
