  • If you go towards the wall doesn't that mean locking your elbows?

  • "altating"??

  • actually he is doing that noise to show how to breath properly, when to breath in and breath out. It really helps me!! ))

  • HTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTSCHTS

  • Don't see why so many people make a big deal about the breathing noises. It's no different than when a martial art practitioner makes sounds to stay in the mode of training. And if you've noticed, he's working out alone here. Different people have different ways of staying focused and in the zone.

  • allways some comment about that noise he makes LMAOO. in every video!!

  • Towards the wall eh? I learned something new today!

  • Does it matter whether you have palms facing back or to your sides with the weight?

  • 0:57 I see he prefers 'all-tating'. I prefer simul-neous myself.

  • I heard DJ S3RL liked this....

  • I googled Front raises to find a good technique and all i get is TSH TSH TSH what is this all about?!

  • the right way is so wrong dont do it do the wrong way

  • @aucklandqueenstown yea i agree my anatomy teacher said its stupid

  • @aucklandqueenstown

loll its funny but your right!

  • watch the muscles in your rear deltoid come into play? Moron... it's for the anterior deltoid!

And how is scapulae protraction gonna engage 'more' of your anterior delt?

Elbow flexion... engages the entire muscle... so shut up...

  • Thanks for the video, but the zoom in was too close, and we can't see the full reps.

  • is it me or is his pac verry saggy? :S

  • you have winged scapula. Look it up. it is very common, I have it too.

  • ....omg if I had five minutes with this guy after his workout in the sauna, he wouldn't HAVE an ass left, just a whole lotta pain and cum splashed all over the walls!!!

  • i do a workout similar to this, i raise both arms straight forward and when their straight out i pull my arms back like im doing a standing bench... straighten them again and lower down... repeat, while maintaining a slow steady pace

  • he's hot lol.

  • why does he sound like a tootoot train?

  • watching this guy work out is useful because whatever body part he works out instantly becomes red LOL

  • sorry scott...i try this out and just dont think im doing it right..when you say to reach for the wall do you turn your body a bit...sorry for the dumb question...lol...just dont fell right...

  • as a physical therapist I agree this is one exercise people butcher at the gym more often than not... Though one additional tip- it's pointless to do alternating extremities (unless you're trying for an aerobic workout), all you're doing is allowing unnecessary rest between reps. Do a set on 1 arm to completion, then the other. This forces you to stabilize your own spine rather than using the other (resting) dumbbell to help you.

  • @PunkinRB hey what do you think the grip he's using, ive seen it held level with the floor, but he's holding it vertical.which is better.

  • @amathew711 Using a horizontal grip puts more stress on the anterior deltoid by limiting how much the biceps can assist with this motion. So with this vertical grip you actually bring more muscles into the exercise. I recommend doing both ways, or throw in an extra set of H-grips following your sets of V-grips to fatigue the anterior delt.

  • please be my personal trainer / boytoy

  • HE IS AMAZING .. MY BODY IS GETTING HOT , THANKS TO HIS ADVICES

  • great videos, should your shoulder blades be pinched together during this exercise or not?

  • nice, but dude you got a mean ass set of triceps too

  • what kind of weight would u recommend for a guy with an average build?

  • Great tip. The difference is tremendous.

  • thumbs pointing up or hand palms facing down?

  • Now that's a kickass tip. Thanks Scott.

  • this burned so good...thanks for the tip scotty

  • Thanks, I was wondering why it didn't feel right. Form is so important!! especially with free weights

  • can demonstrate more clearley useing the exet words help people to understand more clearly thanks

  • he forgot to mention, if you make that sound in the gym, you're going to get a barbell shoved up your ass....but hey if you make that sound, you'd probably enjoy that anyway.

  • @superherobyday lmao

  • @superherobyday Look at how build he is... he'll kill anyone in the gym! lol

  • @superherobyday

only dudes who make this are guys who want the attention... from other guys.

  • @superherobyday LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whats the difference in the hammer position vs flat position of the dumbbells?

  • Thanks. I did them today and I was able to actually do a full set of 10 reps unlike lateral raises and didn't have any popping so I think I'll stick to those from now on. And I remembered to use the proper form!

  • you should find an alternative for lateral raises.... front raises train your front deltoids, while lateral(side raises train your medial deltoid, you gotta train ALL 3 deltoid heads to have nice looking full shoulders, otherwise if u only do front raises you will have uneven and funny looking shoulder, the front will be bigger than the rear... not a pretty sight eh?

  • great input!

  • Do you prefer front raises to lateral raises? I've been doing lateral raises but I don't have the best shoulder mobility and I get a lot of popping in my shoulder when I do them. Doesn't necessarily hurt but it's freaky and I worry I'm doing damage. I don't think I get that when I do front raises though.

  • whats the best excercise for man boobs

  • fixing up your diet to lose body fat and chest exercises (bench press, dumbell chest press, dumbell chest flyes, cable cross overs, push ups, etc....)

  • great input!

  • @ScottHermanFitness what if i have my palms facing down instead of how you are holding it (same way for a hammer curl)?

  • hmmm sexxy

  • That is brilliant, i am going to try that today!!!

    Thanks scott!

  • some people, me including twist it at the top, so my knuckles are looking at the roof and my palm is facing down, is there any difference?

  • Helpful videos, thanks!

The only thing I would suggest is if you could mention what muscles are being worked on with each exercise. I'm still a beginner so it's useful to know what the exercise is for.

  • Like pushing out toward the wall as you lift? I think i understand what you're saying, thanks!

  • will do them the right way now ;0) ,thanks scott

  • I was taught these with the dumbbell horizontal. Is one way better than the other?

  • @stacey That is just a different excersise, front raises work your front shoulder, horizontal do your side ones, its good to do both.

  • Scott i pretty much love you, just to put that out there lol .. you are amazing and so down to earth!

  • Nice....I was doing them the wrong way. Thanks again man.

  • I tried doing this 2 days ago and it was hard but now my arms are starting to get used to it.

    Strange isn't it?

  • Lol how do you have the gym to yourself everytime.. like theres never anyone in there

  • scott im 6'1'' 145 lbs and 32 waist..

i do no ab workouts but i have a 2 pack (instead of 6)..what can i do to get rid of the pudge on my bottom 4 ab muscles so i can finally get full six-pack abs?

  • You have to lose weight, theres no such thing as spot fat reduction.

  • @ AmericanPowerBase

LOL & where is the after party?

but seriously I am pretty strong but have bad form these vids can really help

  • hahaha if ill get a trainer in the gym, hope thats someone like this guy....haha... he knows what really works and got a sense of humor..

  • up TSH up TSH up THS lmao

  • OMFG! I've been doing it the "wrong way" all this time! Thanks so much Scott really appreciate your tips and demonstrational clips of workouts. You rock!

  • I can definitely see the difference in the muscle response between the 'right way' and 'wrong way' but don't understand exactly what it is you're doing . (position of arm and wrist etc seems the same, so what is different?) Thanks for the instruction though, the videos are very helpful.

  • same here. i see the different but i can't/ dont know if im doing it right either

  • hey Scot got any good suggestions for a good rear delt specific excercise

  • omg will you marry me

please say yes cause i wanna watch you excercise every day

our babies would look so cute

  • hottie:)

  • ...I've been doing it wrong the whole time... Thank you for correcting my technique.

Original comment was pulled by the time I got to this post. (Sigh) Interesting how fast your subs turned on him. It's what the general mob use to do in Salem...remember? But like I said, I didn't see his original entry so commenting on it directly would be moot at best. Meanwhile, great demonstration on sinuous movement. What are you showing during this video...about 3, 6 per cent? Getting ready for that pre-Hellenistic" body of a (naked) god photo shoot?

    Cheers mate!

  • Thank you Scott for great advices!

  • is it better to hold the dumbbells as you are in this video (hammer/palms facing in), or with the palms facing down? does it matter?

  • @malewa17

you can't blame scott for that, not his fault that your gaining weight..

  • Maybe you should'nt sit on the computer all day, fatass.

  • @malewa17

you deserve to die if you are blaming him...maybe you should eat healthier and workout regularly

  • ooooh ok. so reach for the wall. i was just raising git before.

  • Thanks for the tips.

  • Very well demonstrated...and once again, its good to see how it really works and which muscles it hits. Super camera work, so good job to the cameraman!
