  • no Q?

  • @quadkid4 He used it at the end of the clip. Listen.

  • Chief needs a better light bar on this truck as well

  • @soonernut

Its a mini strobe lightbar. It probably puts out 400-500 fpm but the frame rate for the camera is to slow to catch it. I'm sure you've seen them, they are just as effective as rotating lightbars.

  • i thought they were coming from behind you.....nice video!

  • oh you must be very proud of your dad

  • yeah, we both have fun doing it.

  • i like how the driver waves at you

  • it's my father thats why. it's my company responding

  • Is this Center Twp Pa?

    Big Beaver Boro Vol FF.

  • yeah center twp, pa...station 37

  • i thought so i have seen that truck several times, im with Big Beaver, pa Station 14

  • oh yeah, you guys run with chippewa sometimes don't you? and you guys have the quads for S&R and brush fires right?

  • The quad team is made up the entire, mostly south beaver. but we have one of the better brush units in the county. Chippewa, Beaver Falls, and Darlington are our main mutual aid station, they get called to almost all of our structures.

  • I am involved with two departments. One has totally red trucks w/ lots of reflective visual stripes and the other runs not quite a lime green color but a varation of yellow w/ lots of reflective stripes. I have seen everything from purple, black, to blue but what makes the apparatus stand out is the visual presentation combination. Reflective stripes and letters and a ton of lights along with your sirens. If all of this is in place and the AO is appropriately trained, no problems.

  • I like the yellow/green ones. They look awesome Green is the easiest color for the eye to pick up. This one with the blue in this video looks cool too. gotta love the fire engine... awesome piece of machinery.

  • Different departments have different color trucks.....also during the 60's they were painted the ugly lime green and yellow because it was thought to be safter and people would see them better. But more wrechs were reported by the lime green and yellow trucks compaired to the red since everyone is told from childhood that fire trucks are red.

  • Nice truck!

  • Who paints a firetruck blue?

  • Many fire companies when they were first incorporated decided to paint their trucks a distinctive color so they would stand out more to their members while at the fireground.

  • true, but most fire companies were instated years ago, and red was the traditional color. i think red is the safest for traffic, because other drivers know to look for us in a red vehicle when they hear sirens.

  • Yellow is the safest actually.

  • actually it's not.

  • not all the tme more accidents involving yellow and green apparatus were recorded over the years compaired to the red ones.

  • its blue and white to support our local school. i rather them be red.

  • I'm ok with the truck being blue, but get rid of that damned electronic siren.
