  • pretty sick

  • Wow i didn't know judo was the 2nd most played sport in the world! I thought it was actually a small sport but i'm not surprised its not!

  • dude this was great....simply great

  • gotta love Tumo-Nagi :D

  • But as a Sport, JUDO IS THE BEST =)

  • And Judo is designed for Man-To-Man fights not 1 Man against 3 or 4 guys, so ya any other striking martial art is far more effective in the later situation!

  • @InnovationHero I see what you're saying, but not necessarily - depends how the other attackers react when you just lobbed their heavy mate into the concrete :-) ...though in general it's maybe not that good for multiple attacks but in other arts, they teach supposed multiple attacks which are really 1-on-1 attacks in quick succession, unlike a real fight

  • @Superapplefrog sorry but you are wrong about the multiple attacks. First for methodological purposes the attacher at the time is used but the multiple attacher at the same time is taught and practised too when possible. Of course, for geometrical reasons to have a huge number of attackers and a few is the same (many ppl cannot attack at the same time).

  • @Superapplefrog one more thing... what you call "striking" martial arts were developed and improved in and outside the battlefield for decades if not centuries. So, I think they know what a real fight is. ;-) PS: all martial arts share the same principles andd the arts you call "striking arts" have locks and take downs too. Cheers! PSS: it's the martial artist and not the art who is good or bad. All martial arts are good. :-D

  • @InnovationHero i dont know where this misconception about striking arts being better for multiple opponent situations? the truth is if your fighting mulitple opponents your probally going to lose. striking against mulitple opponents will only work if you have the room to evade but its more likley that you wont have the required room and will end up being clinched then what? thats where grappling comes in.

  • The name of the move at 1:37?? None of you guys knows it?? Plz anybody reply!?!?

  • Comment removed

  • Yoko wakare

  • Judo is good for the soul

  • 2:25.. i used tht in a fight the other day but reversed and i broke the persons arm XD

  • lol i dont mean to critisize you but its called a flying armbar

  • Eheemm!!!..... its called Tobi Juji-Gatame! and it was not created by some mma guy, its judo! ;)

  • well its most commonly known as the flying armbar

  • what's the name of this song?

  • personally i like more the brazilian jiu jitsu

but judo it´s excelent an sport, love it ..

    nice video

  • It's great to know that you like it as a sport!! But the essence of judo is fighting... throwing, smashing, chocking, strangling, breaking joints... Learn some basic kicks and strikes.... then give me "Judo" as foundation, backbone.... JUDO is what you make of IT.. "IF YOU ARE DRESSED, STANDING ON ASPHALT, THERE'S NO MATCH FOR JUDO" Atemi Waza, in judo, includes all of the above plus striking techniques"

  • That's than just a pity for the one who is thrown. And it doesn't matter whether you wear a t-shirt or not. Again, thats just a pity for the one you're fighting with.

  • I actually saw people using Judo on the street, so don't tell me it's useless. It hurts, but that's not the problem of the Judoka, as I said.

  • atemi waza is hardly taught, is only taught after black belt, and is taught on thin air which offers no resistance. Don't make judo sound better than it is by suggesting it teaches strikes properly

  • Listen, I don't need no atemi waza to bring an attacker to the ground and smash the shit out of an assailant. So do not emphasize on that. I don't care if it's taught or not. I do some kick-boxing and when I snatch a grip, is finihed... end of story..

  • This little movie is great ! Judo is the most beautiful and the best sport in the world !

  • black belt in taekwondo????

cause in judo its almost impossible to be black belt at the age of 14

  • Love Judo, my fav sport no doubt.

Thanks for uploading 5 stars all the way

  • Yeah it is..and whos the ass wipe???ohh yeah u are XD

  • yeah it is, why do you think it's in the olympics dumbass. both a sport and a martial art

  • ok i said its a sport, and i agree it is a martial art, u got the wrong guy,

  • nice video, the song fits right, good camera angels and chuse of techniques, realy judo is a very nice ... sport ... sad seeing a martial Art being degraded to a sport, allthou "played" by milions...

  • Up until the early 20 century, martial arts competition in Japan routinely led to severe injury or death while they were taught mostly by kata. Kano believed that this needed to change and banned his students from those competitions while designing a structured way of competing that didn't normally injure or kill anyone. This competition is the Sport, the rest of Judo that is taught, in kata etc., is the Martial Art with nothing "degraded".

  • Dancing around and kicking is easy to learn... In turn, in order to learn "JUDO", it takes time, dedication and effort... It is not that easy to learn as it may seem, to some...... That's the reason why some individuals, outside the tatami, who after talking unnecessarily tried it and couldn't stand on their feet for a minute.....

  • I doubt Judo is the number 2 sport in the world :P but with the current growt in europ it wont be long!

there are about 7 clubs in Amsterdam alone, each having around 400 to 600 members.. :D

    Judo saiko!!

  • Quote from the IJF (International Judo Federation)

"....Practiced today by millions of individuals, judo is undoubtedly the most popular combat sport in the world. In terms of sheer numbers of participants, judo is the second most popular sport of any sport, soccer being number one. In terms of national organizations worldwide..."

  • :D nice, gooooooooo Judo!!!

  • The "Gentle Way" does not resist brute force.... ; it yields to it..... Strength is meaningless without a resisting force... You will be fighting with "Air" an empty jacket!!!!

  • 2:25 awesome!!

  • what is the techniques at 1:38???

  • i looked in my gym. there isnt that technique in any of 1.2.3.4.5.kyu belt's must be something that black belt's practice

  • Une sorte de "sumi geshi" sur le coté ! What is the song pliz !!! ?

  • that will be yoko-wakare

  • basket-ball is the number 2 most played sport in the world.. i think

  • Quelqu'un peut-il me donner le titre de cette musique ? Anyone can give me the title of this BO (Music) please ?

  • i do karate judo jujitsu kick boxin and muy tai and out of all of them jujitsu i think is best but its pretty much the same as judo i dont know the differences

  • If you train all those arts you mentioned, you should probably know the differences between judo and jiujitsu.

  • u clearly are a low level in both of them then

  • im clearly a low level, i recently went to the british championships and got myself a bronze medal

  • There's a clear disadvantage for the Judokas in the UFC. A "judoka" doesn't need gloves; even though you could perform some "judo" without gi, a judo player relies on catching a grip, yet the opponents wear no attire of any sort; in the real world people are clothed with whatever. Another big disadvantage is the fact that there's no "Concrete" as the ground. Because a good SMASH IS A GOOD SMASH. It's the equivalent to a KO, for the striker.

  • well in cage fight the mats are spring loaded. lol those are heaven to be thrown on you hadly even feel it!

  • Thank you chexmix323 for filling me in. I didn't even know that. " Wow, man, that's something I've long to hear, THANKS again ". You should post a good 'comment' on that in other "judo" pages. LOGIC.

  • your welcome. Well it explains the biggest disatvantage and also cuz well...if your a judoka would you rather train for ufc light heavyweight champ for a month or the 2012 olympic 90kg gold medal?

  • A good judaka doesn't just take you down; he could throw you ( toss ) with enough momentum, intense, power throw. The result on bare floor or ground ( concrete ) could be crippling. No matts, also a choke or lock carried out fully means a snapt arm or unconciousness " CAN'T FIGHT LIKE THAT " This is how effective it is. " I got more " " Sutemi-waza"

  • nice throws. My favorite one is O-Soto-Gari (2nd one)

  • o soto gari is dump the best one is the first!! ippon seio nage tooo much crazy

  • This is a " true, realistic art and sport " Beautiful "JUDO". A scientific marvel. Excellent cardio, all in one.

  • I play football, or "soccer" as it's wrongly called and it might be the most played sport is judo, but it's a damn shame somebody reduced Judo to JUST a sport. it's ok to practice it sport-olympic-like but to take the teeth away from the shark, to remove the atemi waza and goshin....unforgivable, Jigoro kano must be cursing from his grave

  • ur right. i keep wishing my coach's would teach us that stuff rather than train for the next tournament every time.

  • What a nice video!

  • If only my Judo was that good.. Perhaps one day.. Awesome!!

  • Judo is the truth. This video is awsome

  • vivvvve judo ahmed

  • i Love judo

i'm turkish and we love judo

  • judo is the most popular sport in the world not 2nd. 2nd is football

  • the heading was "played" sport in the world as far as popular...you be the judge.

  • @celtichild Mate i only practised judo shortly ( i got my orange belt today (cheer) but im pretty sure Judo isn't the 2nd most practised sport in the world and its also not the most practised / played combat sport / martial art that's tae-kwon-do how crazy as it sounds but im pretty sure the most player/ practised sport is bowling then soccer and im pretty sure its not judo after that but im not sure about that if im wrong excuse me

  • is anyone goin to the tournement in toulose coz i might see u there lol
