Typically, a great song by one of the greatest bands of all time has been overshadowed by talk of a terrible fucking film that in this comment will remain unnamed.

The lyrics in this song are immense. That male insecurity thing we have is summed up so well. The majority of the male population have been trying to get that ball in the basket for centuries.

Just discovered this band via "9 songs", an independent film which showed a snippet of elbow live. By far the best of the bands in the movie! Still working through all their albums, and this one grabbed me today. It's a slow build (1:35 indeed) but worth the wait. I think I'll be humming this for a while..excellent. And the lyrics are hilarious.

From 1:35 to the end is the song "Mexican Standoff." And for icy606, my friend (he's never read the books) told me about this song before I read the Twilight series. However,I know Elbow is not a well known band and now I can thank Stephenie Meyer for getting their name out there. She is a really nice person and if you ever have the opportunity to meet her, I suggest you do. On a note about the song, it is very refreshing from the norm out there. May Elbow live to make many more great songs.

I don't hate any of the characters, but I do prefer Edward to Jacob - just more my type, haha. Jacob makes me laugh - he seems more...forward than Edward though - Jake's a typical 21st Century boy, which we all know Edward isn't. I really liked Bella because of the fact that she only loved Edward. I suppose that's the point though - you can't help who you fall for. I hope Jake imprints on someone and Bella realises she didn't love Jake in THAT way at all!

I disagree with the lot of you. I think Bella should choose Edward for the simple fact that not only does he love her, but he's always thinking of her. Jacob, however, is only mostly thinking of himself. No offence toward Jacob or anything, he's awesome, I just think Edward and Bella would be better off. I'm sorry to say Bella has become an irritating character.....to be so capricious is an aspect that annoyed me throughout the whole book. I believe 90% of the second and third book was a description of Bella's conflicted mind. I'm disappointed and pissed, but I suppose that's just the way it is. It would've been much more interesting if she had fabricated some other situation and integrated it with the current plot, then there wouldn't be such a large amount of repetitiveness.

I concur. I may be biased according my preference for vampires as one my favorite mythological creatures, but I've disliked Jacob since book one. Evil, persistent, and immature (though I must admit, honest)teenager; can he just not interfere with such a delicate relationship? May he discover his own counterpart and leave his obsession with Bella in a healthy way (although I can't say Bella will leave it in a calm manner now that she's discovered this new disturbing side of herself =.='''').
