this movie really represents societal repression. tha fact that the character is gay make a parallel to mainstream society, also the fact that it is set in the 70's everything he does is a face, a facet of himself, it represents true identity when he can really feel who he is through death.
Just watched this film, 'A single man', where has it been hiding? What a find! My heart was so moved by it and it shows that we humans are not islands, we do need each other. I have now to add this ost to my list of music, it bowled me over. I cant seem to express how it got to me. I want everybody in the world to see it and listen with their hearts to the music, if it dont get to you then your dead inside. For Elliott my son, I love you. Dad
Been listening to the "A Single Man" soundtrack on repeat for days and I still don't understand why this movie wasn't nominated for Oscars or Golden Globes. It should have won at least three; One for the soundtrack, one for Colin Firth and one for Julianne Moore.
This movie has gripped me in everyway i could ever imagine. Hitting me hard in the head, making me realise what I really want to do with my life. and this soundtrack is the reason for it all. I'm lost myself in the movie.....
@shagboi Exactly how I feel! I left the movie theatre feeling numb. It took days for me to process what I saw, and realize exactly how much it touched me. By then, it had finished showing in theatres. I wish I'd seen it more; it was such an amazingly beautiful and moving movie. Its July DVD release date can't come soon enough!
@shagboi thats alot of people liking my comment. I thought I've laid off this song for good. Because it was almost going into the state of depression. However, today I have to come back to this song again for I really need to hear that heart-gripping sounds of the violin. I'm not depressed but suppressing my emotions inside. I need this tune in my head right now.

Every time, this movie makes me sad. It's music takes my breath away. I can actually feel how sad George is, his sadness becomes part of my own.
This movie is amaxing. Beautiful, sensitive... Everything you can hope from a movie. I respect that.
