  • that was lame...

  • :O It all makes sense now!

  • Love the explaination, but I get the feeling the guy who made this video, was one of those "Smarter then thou" Theoretical Science pushers...I study Theoretical Physics,But do i try to push it on the average man? Nope, because I'm not an ass, neither a Communist.

  • Watched this in Physics today :D Way more interesting than our teacher!

  • Seriously, it's alllllll clear now. You rock

  • nice job putting it in dum-dum language. i'll tell my teacher to show this in class - he'd like it.

  • LMAO NEEEEE : YOWWWW

    learning can be hilarious

  • Such a good video xD

  • Well done. Thank you, much better described than my physics book.

  • haha...love it!

  • but, why does the slight get higher ([nnnnnnNNNN]NNNNnnnnnn) while it's getting closer? if it's moving towards you, shouldn't it be the same all the time moving towards you? in other words, why, if graphed, would the slight make a parabola instead of a line?

  • Best explanation, ever!

  • Your a total genius...thank you <3

  • I don't think it was necessary to insult us all. Some of us haven't done this in physics yet (seeing as that was what you intended at points). Lol.

    Either way, great video, man.

  • Mr. Hogan sent me here...!! :L

  • Thumbs up if your watching this because of mr hogan

  • what is the name of the song in the first part?

  • They need an awesome rating!! Cuz thats what this was/is!!!!

  • Best video on the doppler effect on youtube.

  • So... I think I understood this and I'm 14...

  • very, very cool

  • THE XFILES MUSIC MAKES THIS VID

  • I LEARNED SHIT. THANK YOU!!!!

  • HAHA that was great thanks !

  • okay! thanks for this, I totally understand what wwas my teacher is babbling about yesterday! lol!

  • This explanation of the Doppler effect in 2 minutes is much easier to understand then anything vid on it before. Thumbs up for that!

  • if u are wondering how this got so mant views it links to an episode of big bang theory..

  • More Pokemon Movie soundtracks please!

  • @Oikonny i dont think soo babes

  • I watched a different video, but i dont speak scientifical words so i watched this....i still dont understand what sheldon was dressed as......?

  • @chocochick247 LOL!

I'll try to explain but u have to think physics ;)

Anyways when an object is producing sound or light, it travels in forms of waves , like circles 0:52

Now, when the object is moving the frequencies(pitch of the sound or colour of the light) change and if u wanna draw that and present it somehow u do that 1:02

Thus sheldons costume if u pay attention has more lines stuck together near the center of his body, and less near his limbs

    The Doppler Effect :)

  • Lol, this is awesome

  • The Big bang Theory - season 5

  • Round... Whatever gotta say I'm a bonehead.

  • One of the easiest and most comprehensible explanations I've ever seen.

  • thumbs up if you watching this because of sheldon from the big bang theory

  • @volcommaster2121 wow I didn't realize not that many people know what the doppler effect is. Sheldon is right about the education system.

  • The star/ car is almost right... But he isn't living. lmao

  • FOR:

    Boneheads

    Dumb-Dumbs

    Goldfish

    Guppy Fish

    Retarded Lemons

    Demented Lettuces

    Lobotomised Vegetables

    Mhenlo

    Your Welcome :DDD

  • i saw this in physics class, teacher kept on doing 'neeee-owwwwww' noise so funny!

  • i would understand it if i wasnt going so fast

  • thank you__ that's a great job you've done explaining it ...

I got excited at the end !

    :D

  • FFFFFFUUUUUUCCKKKKK!!!!!

I hope some klass sees this.

  • As a teacher who struggles to get people to understand - Thank you!

  • I'M SAVED THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • You mentioned Mhenlo. Does that mean that you play Guild Wars? Do think that he's a bad monk?

  • whats the song at the beginning?

  • I'd recognize the music at the middle to end anywhere....it's from the Pokemon Movie with Mewtwo :)

    God, I loved pokemon.

  • I'm not a retarded lemon!

  • Thank you for improving a very boring evening of physics study. I'm happy.

  • tarararara tang tareng rahahahah

  • I like the "doppler effect in a nutshell"

  • thumbs up if you watched this because of the big bang theory :D !

  • This video is amazing, thank you!

  • holy crap OO:

i'm so excited 'cause of that wonderful video :D

i gotta take some valium , cuz my adrenaline pegel is so high now O:

  • I knew I recognized that music from somewhere... yay Pokemon! And science! ^-^

  • not that cool but its ok and words go away to fast

  • not that cool but its ok

  • To sum this all up, The doppler effect is the apparent change in the frequency of a wave caused by relative motion between the source of the wave and the observer.

  • "Slight" hahaha

  • Well, this was nice! :)

  • easy explanation :) welldone

  • Haha science teacher showed this in class, he said any questions? I said, can we watch it again? XD

  • POKEMON SOUNDTRACK !!!

  • WoW!!! I don't usually comment, but this video was really simple and useful!

    ThankYou!

  • damn this was so awesssome!!! its a shame you didnt talk about the sonic BOOM, when your velocit goes higher than the speed of sound.

  • Great explanation of the Doppler effect. Thanks

  • so in 5 hours of physics lessons at school on this i learned nothing, yet in 2½ minutes i now completely get it, potential breakthrough right there

  • my ballz are always twice bigger than yours

  • I love the song...

  • cool......................................:)

  • cool!:)

  • cool!:)

  • I don't get it

  • That's easy, im 14 and i understand this shet. D=

  • great video ,this is like a watching a cartoon show ........ well it is one; i recommend you to make more videos like this ,my physics teacher will realize what mistake she is doing ....amazing!

  • My physics teacher just started our class on the doppler effect with this video^^ Thanks adfurlokid, it was very helpful.

  • Thank you, for the help to my homework :b - LOVE ON YOU!

  • Wow the Doppler effect is easy if you think about it this way they put in this video it is totally right! also it was so cute this video the way it was put I love it!

  • top !

  • even my really really strict physics teacher loves this video :} i'm fourteen and this explains redshift perfectly.

  • Amazing... I learned something!!

  • Awesomeness = )

  • Hahaha, thanks a lot. Revising for zoology and psychology exams and got to a section about bats compensating for the Doppler effect whilst echolocating. Realised I really couldn't tell what it was (although I remember from 8th grade science class that we were standing on a road and my teacher explaining something like that). Thanks anyway!

  • best explanation ever!! thank you soo much!! <3

  • On what program did you make this

  • I got a seisure: (

  • Omg, this was freaking amazing, I hope you make more.

  • wow. I can actually pay attention to stuff like this. Boring teachers make me fail,

  • YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww

  • music from pokemon teh first movie? 1:07

  • Lol, you're so condescending, but I can't fault how well the principle is explained.

  • great video

  • i spent 30 days trying to understand it from my teacher but you did it in less than 3 minutes...

i'm kidding but you did a great job, thanks :)

  • why cant all science be like this!?!?!?!?!

  • lol that was cute

  • yAAYY this is a good representation. with vaky design. but still good, wow the fire on the gas is also blue in its bottom, and red on the end. our dimension is in spectrum..so the higher relms are blouish

  • Much better than my university lecturerers!

  • lol dude, physics ftw, gd work

  • Theyy played this video in my science lesson... then i realised... that the song that plays after the creepy song.. is from the pokemon movie soundtrack :D

  • lol my physics teacher showed us this to learn the doppler effect. its funny

  • Great!

become a Teacher you`ve got what it takes ^^

    thx :)

  • This is... the most beautiful thing I've seen in my entire life... thank you...

  • @Cazametroides

    you should get out more

  • @androidbotface Thanks to you I now know that I got 27 thumbs-up, now I'll get out even less!

  • i like slight

  • awesome video and more exciting then my science teacher by far.

  • You sir, are a pro.

  • wat 's the name of the soundtracks pls ?

  • star/car XD pacman hahaha

  • star/car XD

  • LOOK OUT STAR/CAR, HERE COMES PACMAN!

Best line I;ve heard all day. woot science lessons.

  • obrigado!!

  • Too, difficult. Redo.

  • awesum

  • Thanks a lot man!

  • Thanks a lot :)

  • great! :)

  • Awesome Thank You! best 2½ minutes spent.

  • physics will fuck you in the butt. so watch out.

  • Congrats, your video is really helpful and funny

  • haha, very good,

  • that was grreat

  • very goooood

  • man i wasted 1:30 hours of my life when i could watched this xD

  • wow this is actually doppler effect explained more clearly and more easily to understand than anyone I know has ever explained it (including teachers). Not that i didn't understand it, but it's so much easier to remember this way instead of reading text! Thanks!

  • that was more clear than my textbook and prof put together

  • This is great! I can't wait to show my students!

  • superb video.easy to understand. thanksssssssssssssss

  • is this analogy correct: if soundwaves gets higher frequenzy it becomes visible light ? ie soundwaves and lightwaves are the same thing with different freq?

  • unreal animation good ass job

  • That's so cool!

  • Deserves an Oscar

  • The music at 1:05... I'm 110% sure that this was used in the first or second pokemon movie... WTF memories

  • @Knilch23 Yeah that is from a pokemon movie (I think Movie 2000)

  • What an awesome explanation! Not only was it fun but had the music from the Pokemon movies! How I miss them. You rock.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • 5/5

  • but what is the triangle was moving the same speed as the emitter?

would it see red, blue or green?????

  • Bazinga!

  • it is very good!! I liked it so much...I loved the interview :P

  • hahaha that was great

  • good movie ;)

  • Thanks. Very funny.

  • great video thanks! :)

  • hey what is the song called?

  • @KISIMOV I swear it was a song from one of the pokemon movies lol...

  • Slight??? I will go see another video that explains the effect in a proper way.

  • hahah i love this

  • whats the second song called?

  • Whats the second song called, the space like tune, i like it, and im sure i have heard it before, whats it called, does anyone know?

  • BRILLIANT!

  • That was really AMAZING

Can you do some more of these

  • THAT WAS great PLEASE MAKE SOME MORE videos

  • sorry, my bad on the last comment.

i forgot to keep in mind that the object travels in the same medium, so the speed of SLight will remain constant.

therefore as Wavelength increases Freq Decreases and vice versa.

  • great vid man.

just one thing a lil confusing though

seeing as the star/car emits SLight at regular intervals - or as we see at 1:12, there are a total of 5 circles. - or 5 waves formed on the left and right.

wouldn't this imply the Frequency remains constant but the wavelength changes?

smaller wavelength = higher pitched sound, bluer light --> UV

Bigger wavelenth = lower pitch sound, red light --> IR

    ?

  • This is awesome!

  • Thank you!

  • funny but you should have explained why those concentric circles look the way they look. IMHO.

  • imho?

  • @05dabest IMHO=in my humble opinion

  • aaah thanks

  • lol I took physics in university and your explanation was so much better.. very funny too :)

    5/5

  • @habarvaz 10000000000000000 out of 10000000000000000

  • holy fck awesome, i learned the dopplar effect in a nutshell!!!! YEAH!!

  • me gusto muy didactico

    i liked (Y) 5/5

  • This is awful. Stick to entertainment, and leave the educational material for people who know what they're doing.

  • THANK YOUUUU

  • What is the name of this music called ?

  • It is From Pokemon the First Movie
