  • maybe this clip was removed from the film due to a copyright infringement... lol

  • Electric hair

  • wyatt was soooo pretty!!

  • "It was 1934...and she wasn't good looking, she was a skag with electric hair." LMAO!

  • Anyone else notice that Wyatt mentioned the movie " I spit on your Grave"???

  • Thankyou so so much for uploading this!

Never seen this intro before and Weird Science is one of my favourite films :)

  • I knew it! I knew this scene was not in my head. I watched it recently and noticed this was missing from what I saw at the movies and also there was a scene at the end...I would almost swear where the dad complains someone messed up the equalizer on his stereo system...After Lisa fixed the trashed house. ( You know BFD about the stereo...lol) Thank you

  • This is how I remember it. Thanks

  • HAHA!!! 00:24 "I Spit On Your Grave" rocks, rofl =D

  • @alexp9999 I never saw that movie, I saw they did a remake of it in 2010

  • I didn't get it until it was on dvd so i had no idea there was a different beginning to it. Thanks

  • cool, thanks for posting!

  • Welcome to 'Edited for Television'. An irritating aspect so as to allow better playability on TV. Adding deleted scenes to fill the time slot or else it'd be 'bout 10 mins long. I avoid watching beloved films on regular broadcast because of that. I have no problem with the odd scenes being as extras on a DVD release. Its what makes DVD great.

  • where's whole the movie

  • Thanks for posting this. Only people like me who only ever watched this movie on tv would know there are deleted scenes on the dvd. BTW, who is this troll, DVFDrinkOrDie??? I would recommend you delete every single one of his comments the second the crop up. Either the guy is living in his own dreamworld, or he's just messing with people. Either way, it's not amusing and nothing but a waste of time for people who want to know the facts.

  • what channel was it on when they aired that version?

  • I actually would assume assume this was left out because they couldn't get the rights to the movie again when they rereleased this on DVD.

It's like Married with Children, and not being able to get the license to the theme song.

  • i saw this movie several times from the day it hit the theaters when i was a teenager, and i'm here to say that this scene WAS in the original... i remember this like it was frigging yesterday... you mean they cut it out??.... blasphemy!!!!

  • @MGMLioness Interesting, this scene was in the original 1985 cinema release? What about the scene with Gary's friends who arrive at the party wearing Devo helmets, ws that included too or is it TV only bonus footage?

  • @JayArgonaut i have no recollection of that at all... it could've been, i have no idea...

  • I can see why they cut it.

  • holy shit, i have the same thing on vhs i taped from the 80's, i m watchin it on tv now, this isn't on tv, ....strange

  • kinda like goonies, there is a scene where the octopus comes out, i remember seeing that on television, i do remember seeing this on tv too. so yah its real

  • @DVFDrinkOrDie Your wrong bro this was the original. Your just mad cause you never saw the original. So keep your mouth shut, and show some fuckin respect to the guy who posted this.

  • Why would they cut this out of the DVD? thats the whole point of a DVD.

  • Why would they cut this out of the DVD? thats the whole point of a DVD. Bastards

  • the one i have has them getting pansed in the gym then there going up the stairs talikin about chet also this happens in the dvd i have

  • I hadn't seen this movie in a long time but this is how I remember the beginning. How does it begin on the DVD then?

  • can someone please upload this film,

    pleaseeeeeeee!!

  • You are a GOD for posting this.

    EPIC WIN

  • Wow thank you for posting this, this is my favoriite movie and i had never seen this beggining....

  • i have the vhs tape (bought it in 92 or 93) and have never seen this scene before...

sometimes they show alternate scenes on the TV version of the movie that never make it to VHS/DVD (The Money Pit and Naked Gun are two other 80s movies I've seen them do this with). I have no idea why though.

    Thanks so much for posting!!!

  • Oh Gary is just HOT!!! and the young Robert Downey jnr too LOL

  • They used to show this beginning when it was aired on TV sometimes. I don't know why they didn't include it on the DVD version. I always thought that part where Gary shoves the stack of frozen pizzas in the microwave was hilarious!

  • oh wait!!! holy shit! i do remember this from the first time i ever saw the movie.

  • holy shit!!! one of my favs and ive never seen that

  • Wow. This is the only beginning I remember to the movie. Guess I haven't seen it in a while.

  • its amazing how people just write some shit here without using their brain ^^ the 2 main actors are clearly to see so this can only be from this movie ^^ and since this is NOT on the DVD I rather believe mxation than supposing he invited the 2 actors to create this extra scene :DD

  • you are right mxation! I got the DVD too and it doesnt contain this scene, not even in the additional stuff. Thanks for uploading!

  • Loved seeing this, did not know about this edit, thanks for posting, they should put this on the movie now i think its great.

  • I think it real. It show you that they share common interests It showed they they are real tight buds. . The scene also shows they are pretty smart. It gave depth to Gary, and Wyatt. They, as actors made the scene look authentic, and fluid. Good scenes get edited out all the time..

  • no kidding? this is how i remember it. what is it like now, after the credits??

  • It starts with Gary shaving in the mirror.

  • @cw505 seems Universal has at least two versions of this film ,there is a cable tv broadcast version and the original version shown in theaters.. there is different footage ,and differnt music ? Why Universal did 2 edits ? go figure?

  • in the context of video, and certainly in the context of "HD" analogue is dead.... but it is still superior for audio and will be untill we get to a new convention for CD's that reflects a greater bit depth and sampling rate.. though, by the time that is done.. CDs will probably be dead...

  • just goes to show you how VHS is still important! lol

  • Must have seen this film about 200 times have it on dvd and vhs and did not no that this was the original beggining.

    thanks

  • I like the bit when they're in the pink Chevy discussing Gary's reasons for wanting call Kelly LeBrock's character Lisa.

    Lisa: "Why Lisa?"

Wyatt: "He used to hang out with a girl named Lisa?"

    Lisa: "Oh yeah? Old girlfriend?"

Wyatt: "She kicked him in the nuts."

    Gary: "Will you shut up?!"

Wyatt: "Look, Gary, it wasn't your fault. All you said was 'hello' to her."

    Gary: "Wyatt, just shut up!"

    Great 80's movie!

  • Wow a new bit from my favourite film

  • can't believe i'm seeing this! this was in the edited tv version. the dvd version is bitch ass! it doesn't have any of these deleted scenes. pissed me off!

  • I don't know if they still do it, but years ago they would actually shoot several scenes made just for TV. Often times they would re-shoot a scene that had some changes that would allow it to be shown on TV. A perfect example is Airplane 2, there a a number of scenes that were not in the video or theatrical release but are shown in the TV edit.

  • "Oh' Gary always in the Bathroom with the

Water Running!" Mother... Ha Ha Classic

Father "Who is this Gary person you keep speaking about?"

  • i remeber this opening

  • The one I remember is the gym version. they get their pants pulled down.

  • i luv this movie and wow, i can't recall ever seein this version cause the one i have starts at the shaving cream part after they get there pants pulled down at school i think. no biggie, i personally think this intro was moving too slow.

  • Wow I just compared my DVD to this and sure enough the intro is missing.. They should release a blu ray version with the missing intro intact.

  • Why was that cut? It added good story line,, man I'm kinda pissed I just saw this cause I still watch the dvd all the time. Best line of the movie "you two turds couldn't get laid in a morgue". ha ha ha

  • This movie is sooo good..

  • i love how garry takes out a bunch of pizzas and doesnt unwrap them and puts em in the microwave lol

  • My dvd starts off with the bit where they are in the gym and get there shorts pulled down

  • All versions of the movie start off with the gym scene. This scene happens after the credits end.

  • So what occurs instead of this scene

  • nothing. After the final credit "Directed by John Hughes" it starts with gary shaving.

  • I believe the word is campy its campy lol

  • OMG this is sooo good thank u so much for uploading!

  • your welcome

  • was this on the VHS version? i have that and the dvd and i never saw it

  • If you bought your VHS tape of "Weird Science" look on the back and see if it says, "Home Video Version" anywhere. If it does, then that means that there is another version with this beginning somewhere out there.

  • Also, I recorded the movie off the television back in the 80's. Maybe that has something to do with the different versions of the movie.

  • Universal made the original Frankenstein. They should have left this in as all of us Gen X and baby boomers grew up watching the classic horror films on FREE TV. And it does help explain Kelly LeBrock's bad 80's hair in the film. Then again, who was looking at her hair.....

  • OMFG! I had to call my grandmother in the middle of the night and explain my childhood after I saw Dawn of the Dead." DotD is a scary ass movie, but that's just low self respect.

  • this was addded on my birthday!!!

  • I recorded it on VHS in 1991. I remember this:)

    priceless.

  • Holy Shit! Never seen this part. Great for an old fart!

  • It didn't harm the movie taking that bit out. I was hoping there were some cut scenes of Kelly LeBrock getting nasty. Alas

  • Universal fucked up sixteen candles too! they put a different soundtrack in it. Why did they do this? It don't make sense!

  • very simple reason for why that sometimes happens. Universal has the rights to the movie but they may not have the rights to the music to be allowed to release it on DVD. it happened with Married With Children from season 3 on. FOX lost the right to use the original theme song so they had to replace it with something they made themselves.

  • I think there's also some missing footage where Gary burns the popcorn. In the HBO / DVD version you can see him eating a bowl of burnt popcorn.

  • I remember this!...wow i recognized it right away when gary grabs all the food from the frig and the dawn of the dead dialogue...thanks for posting this.

  • are they stoned? why do they need so much food?

  • they're teenage boys...lol...teenage boys eat EVERYTHING!

  • This scene is priceless, why he didn't keep this complete scene is beyond me!

  • I am guessing it might have something to do with the rights to using the scenes of Frankenstein. But there's gotta be someone out there that knows???

  • it cant be that becuose in the dvd it had a few clips of frankenstein

  • I just saw this on USA yesterday. I never noticed this when I watched it on HBO. I guess that is why I missed it. Duh.

  • this ones way better than the other one. sets up characters better. "gary's weird family relatioship" and "she had electric hair" tell me kelly lebrock didnt look a little electrified?

  • true dat true dat

  • Thanks for posting this, i didnt even know it existed!

  • Oh this brings back memories. Thanks for posting.

  • Great clip .Thanks for posting

  • your welcome
