wow!! I'm amazed to say the least!. I'm so proud of you, learning something that's new and seeing how we speak. Although, you have very good prouncing on the words.
You speak awesome Navajo but you speak it with a Japanese accent lol! But it's cool! I'm amazed to see other people learning this language because it is very difficult. :D
One of the hardest languages to learn on the planet--you move your tongue one centimeter and it goes from one word to another. glad he's making a serious study of the language.
Wonderful job!! Keep up the good work. I'm proud of how you responded to the racist guy. I wouldn't have been so nice hehe. He is probably Turkish (why they *wannabe* Native Americans, I'll never know, cuz they aren't and never will be) and confuses Eurasians with our peoples here. I'm mixed blood...proud...still Native. We should all learn our first languages. Dineh people, you are beautiful!!!!!
Pretty freakin' awesome............I really impressed, learning Native American languages is extremely difficult! I have many Navajo friends who would be impressed! Happy learning! :)
Got here from the 1491s facebook page. Keep up the good work! It's amazing that you've learned so much (and probably much more since) without formal lessons! :D
You always do such a good job at all these languages, Laoshu505000. I had a fluent, full-blood Navajo apprentice (I'm an electrician) on a recent job. His wife is full-blood Cheyenne and he says that her elders speak Cheyenne as their normal everyday language. Navajo is indeed a very difficult language, both grammatically and phonetically. Keep it up!
Yall are entitled to have racial discussion on this video, and I'm not saying I'm color blind, but SERIOUSLY? My first thought while watching this had nothing to do with that it was mostly HOLY HELL HE SPEAKS NAVAJO THATS IMPRESSIVE AS HELL I WANT TO DO THAT
Hey im Navajo!! Yaa'teeh shi ei Leeann Yinishye, Toodineeshzee (Kayenta, AZ) ei dee naasha. Naakila shi naahai. Indiana ei kwe'eigi naashnish. Shi kone' nursing yidahoolah. Nizhoonigo Dine bizaad yalti'i shi kis!
I'm happy to see that people are finding our beautiful language interesting enough to learn!! Who cares what race you are! Just wish our children and younger adults would learn the language, embrace it and teach the next generation.
@laoshu505000 just a guess, here another one: to escape your race, you are driven by escapism of learning languages in order to enjoy the illusion breaking with your biology for the time you learn.
@myrddinistheshit : is there some reason why you want to hate on this guy for being able to study, learn, and speak a Native language? I think it's pretty cool that a non-native can commit himself to the study and be able to speak a Native language. There are Natives out there who don't even try to learn their language, for whatever reason. This is good motivation.
Auf dieses Video antworten... it would be racist if i said sth. about the size of your head, projection of your nose , the structure of your forehead and stuff like this, but guess what? i do not do stuff like this.
@myrddinistheshit No, making the assumption that there is some ulterior motive for learning a language that can be encapsulated in some kind of self-hatred based upon his being black (of all things!) is childish, racist, and stupid. Grow the hell up.
have you considered learning other native american languages? it would be cool to hear you speak Anishinaabemowin, which is what my ancestors spoke. its pronunciations are really easy. just a suggestion though. i never heard navajo before but it sounds cool too, keep it up! :)
Amazing! I commend you on this video. Sure, there may be a lot more things to improve on but it is still amazing in that you actually were thinking as you were speaking & that makes it commendable. Keep up the great work & it is nice to know someone in Columbus, Ohio knows & speaks our Diné language. That is what will help to keep our language alive. Give my regards & thanks to Stacey, In PA, too. Whenever in Ohio or Pennsylvania, I will have to make it a point to seek you both. 8-)

Pretty good. One thing you have to remember is that double vowels make a today different sound. It's not said longer like Japanese. Good job nizhóní. :)

LAOSHU505000, that is awesome that you are learning the Dine language!! You are doing well, the way you say the words is right on the button. I say that because it is a hard language to learn because of the tongue twisting words. "Ya go antii do nizhonigo dine bizhaad bee yanlti do leel" (Keep working hard at it and you will be speaking the Dine language pretty well) My Dine writing is not good but I hope you can read that. lol. I am Dine from Crownpoint, New Mexico living in Albuquerque.

@Chezrocksall I won't be starting on another Native American language for a while. Navajo is really a difficult language and I want to get to at least an upper-intermediate- Advanced level before I start on another one. Thanks for the offer though.
I think I understood half of what you said... Wonder if my fluent Navajo speaking grandparents could make up of all you were saying...try and search "little Navajo speaking Navajo" on YouTube
Hey Moses, nice to see you speaking Navajo. I cannot speak it myself, hahaha. ANyways I sent you a very very important message in which I need you to read. Thanks again.
I think it's sad we couldn't do that FLR clan due to the time difference; I'd love to be speaking Navajo like that by now, and so would Volte, I'm sure. Let me know if ever you plan something similar at hours that Europeans can make.
@BitchinnShoes07 Most definitely. I'll probably spend a little more time on Navajo and Tlingit before I tackle those; Native American languages aren't a walk in the park- especially considering the lack of resources out there for them.
@laoshu505000 Oh don't remind me of that. I get pissed off at the past because my white mom never informed me of my heritage so I had to learn it late from my grandparents, and also recently I've been learning about whats been going on with native cultures in the past and Ive been steamed up about that but I'm over it now.
@laoshu505000 No, or in Cherokee, tla. I am White, Cherokee, Iroquois, and Mahican. My friend who is Mandan says thats a juxtaposed mix. What do you think?
@laoshu505000 I did but I don't have much contact with them anymore. One of my friend's grandmother only spoke Navajo and it was nice to hear her speak it.
Awesome. I've never actually heard this language before and it sounds really interesting. I know my college did offer this language but they got rid of it unfortunately.
@MrFremdsprache It took some time and I'm still trying to get fully used to it. Navajo is a tough language to learn. This is like a whole new ball game in terms of difficulty.
wow!! I'm amazed to say the least!. I'm so proud of you, learning something that's new and seeing how we speak. Although, you have very good prouncing on the words.

I think it's sad we couldn't do that FLR clan due to the time difference; I'd love to be speaking Navajo like that by now, and so would Volte, I'm sure. Let me know if ever you plan something similar at hours that Europeans can make.
Sprachprofi 1 year ago
@Sprachprofi Yea, it would've been great to have you studying with us. I'm sorry about the inconvenience.

Do Cherokee, and if possible OJibwe and Dakota.
BitchinnShoes07 1 year ago
@BitchinnShoes07 Most definitely. I'll probably spend a little more time on Navajo and Tlingit before I tackle those; Native American languages aren't a walk in the park- especially considering the lack of resources out there for them.
laoshu505000 1 year ago
@laoshu505000 Oh don't remind me of that. I get pissed off at the past because my white mom never informed me of my heritage so I had to learn it late from my grandparents, and also recently I've been learning about whats been going on with native cultures in the past and Ive been steamed up about that but I'm over it now.
BitchinnShoes07 1 year ago
@BitchinnShoes07 Wait, you speak Navajo?
laoshu505000 1 year ago
@laoshu505000 No, or in Cherokee, tla. I am White, Cherokee, Iroquois, and Mahican. My friend who is Mandan says thats a juxtaposed mix. What do you think?
BitchinnShoes07 1 year ago
@BitchinnShoes07 That's interesting. That tla reminds me a little of the Zulu Cha which has the same meaning.
laoshu505000 1 year ago
@laoshu505000 I think we're all related. The Cherokee word for water, ama is almost the same as the Japanese word for rain, ame.

@BitchinnShoes07 Google "zompist chance resemblances".

@BitchinnShoes07 That's more coincidence and a false friend.
But sure nice intentions

I'd wager to say the look on your face when speaking a new language is the same as when you're getting laid :)

@hurrrrrrrrrrr It's funny because it's the same feeling to me when learning languages- maybe even better feeling lol
laoshu505000 1 year ago
I like the excitement on your face when you speak a language. You make me want to make a video of me speaking a language.

I don't speak Navajo but this is my first time hearing a non-Navajo speaker speak Navajo. Very cool Laoshu!
jtmar 1 year ago
@jtmar Do you have any Navajo friends?
laoshu505000 1 year ago
@laoshu505000 I did but I don't have much contact with them anymore. One of my friend's grandmother only spoke Navajo and it was nice to hear her speak it.
jtmar 1 year ago
Awesome. I've never actually heard this language before and it sounds really interesting. I know my college did offer this language but they got rid of it unfortunately.
KokoKolla 1 year ago

How did you accomplish those difficult sounds ('s and 't) Don't know what to call them
MrFremdsprache 1 year ago
@MrFremdsprache It took some time and I'm still trying to get fully used to it. Navajo is a tough language to learn. This is like a whole new ball game in terms of difficulty.
laoshu505000 1 year ago
COOL: next you have to make a video where you're speaking in Nahuatl.
alkantre 1 year ago
@alkantre That is a capital idea, my friend. Go on Moses.
BitchinnShoes07 1 year ago
@alkantre Because of what you sent me, I've developed an interest for that language as well. Thanks for the books.
Terima Kasih atas membeli saya buku yang mengenjar bahasa Nahuatl! Barangkali, akan habis waktu untuk lajar bahasa itu juga. Thanks man.
