  • i'm having this done today.

  • Panic Away - How to Stop Panic Attacks General Anxiety Fast and Depression

    Visit -----> ultimatewowguide.name

  • They did this on my boyfriend for his seizures..):

  • i just had it done.. IT WAS TORTURE

  • I would like to try this and possibly buy. Where can i get one. I live in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. lucvas@sympatico.ca.

  • i passed out within 8 minutes

  • I passed out within 20 minutes lol

  • I had this test 2 weeks ago and got Diagnoses with POTS. I'm 30 years old and started having symptoms when I was 27.

  • I had this test about 6 years ago and was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope. I didn't faint or anything, I just got really sick to my stomach and threw up. :/

  • okay first off, this test is HORRIBLE! i am 16 years old and just had it done yesterday. I had episodes twice before it actually counted and the test could be finished. The first two times i went through my symptoms but i would not allow myself to actually pass out, then finally the third time i just went out. So yeah this is not funn at alll!

  • i am only 19 and i am doing this test tmr....scared

  • @oldschooldamnawesome me too im 27 ad having one next week hopeit went well x

  • i just found out i have vasovagal syncope .... i passed out after 10 mins of this test....

  • I told my new doctor that I suffer anxiety during the simplest of medical procedures. It stems from severe physical abuse during my childhood and that I've been in and out of therapy throughout my life to deal with it. So what did he do? He sent me to be strapped down to the tilt table (panic setting in), connected needles and monitors to me (full blown anxiety at this point) and then I am tortured until I faint. We got the results back today; he said I faint at medical procedures.

  • @TVWriterGuy so did you have POTS?

  • @TVWriterGuy if you would like a free anxiety program i wrote pm me your email and i will send it free, it will help.

  • i had that testing done and i almost past out

  • Can someone,please, help me?

I am almost positive that I have postural hypotention.

Almost everytime I stand I feel dizzy or heavy-chested.

If I go to the doctor about this will she only give me medicine for it or look for the underlying cause?

  • @natetitus52 I can bet the assholes will say you have an anxiety disorder(& i can surely tell you this from experience),they best way to get thru to them if they tell you this is telling them what to do like if you want to get this test done...they usally just mask what you truely have with anxiety pills, which fixes nothing, just prevents you from freaking out.

  • @huera626loca OK, THANKS! Yesterday, when I got out the car I got so scared! I thought I was going to pass out. When I stood up I felt dizzy and heavy chested again. I mean it FRIGHTENED me so bad. I might be dihydrated because I don't drink much water and it was 96 degrees outside. So I guess the heat may have something to do with it.. I'm a 17 year old girl. This started at the very end of December of 09. It also happened last night when I rose up.
  • @natetitus52 Oh wow your young i'm 20 & have tachycardia symptoms(pots),doctors are assholes enough as it is but when ur young they're WORSE,1st thing i heard out of the doctors mouth when i told him i felt like i was going to die was "you'll be fine,you'reYOUNG!"... but yesss when i dont drink much water it feels worse,go to the doctor if it continues even if they brush u off with a false diagnose of anxiety it doesnt hurt to atleast try & see if something is truely wrong with your health.

  • im 13 and i have to have this done im really scared of doing it

  • @TheHollistergurl101 I just had one done not too long ago. It's scary and you don't want to feel like that, but I just wanted to know what was wrong with me! Just remember that you'll be in a hospital if anything abnormal would happen and they wouldn't be doing the test if they didn't think your heart could take it :) I had 2 nurses in with me and a dr was close by. And when it was all done I got food hehe

  • Do you just have to have an IV? or do they put something in your iv?

  • @funnygirlyouknow123 they will insert an iv, but if they have no results, then they will inject medicine to copy high stress or adrenaline.

  • @funnygirlyouknow123 what i was told is that they will not inject anything unless they go that first 30 or so minutes without any kind of progress.

  • My blood pressure completely bottoms out to 90/50 I can not hold my head up, ringing in the ears, cannot focus to make out faces (see flutters floating around , stand or I will pass back out. I feel totally exhausted very weak. I will give updates when I start taking the Thermotabs.

  • I hated this test! When I passed out, I woke up like 20 seconds later and I was freezing but still really hot and I was all sweaty on my face but no where else :/

  • I had a syncope episode just a few months ago and I was sent to a neurologist (for headaches thought) and I had a cat scan done and I am waiting for results, but ive been doing research and it seems to me like ortostatic hypotension, which is also a cause for headaches. Going back soon to see if it is hypotension, probably gonna need one of these test. btw im only 15...

  • @Sharpsnare im going through the same thing and have been for the past two years..Btw, i just turned 14. have you gotten any kind of results? im goin in for a tilt table test on the 12th.

  • @nikkibaby4evax33 The CT scan showed nothing out of the ordinary as expected, but when I returned to my regular doctor he tested my blood pressure when sitting, laying down, and standing up. He found my hearth was working significantly harder when I transitioned from movements. He said it was OH and prescribed cyproheptadine for it.

  • @Sharpsnare have you had neurological symptoms??

  • @nikkibaby4evax33 Headaches and syncope, but now im thinking I have POTS, which is pretty similar but more likely. It explains other things which I didnt even think were symptoms.

  • I noticed a lot of comments are people feeling all alone with POTS and related illness. Of all places, Facebook has some really nice, supportive and intelligent groups. You are not alone!

  • I stand all the time and I walk all the time and my doctor has ordered this test because I have a couple unexplained syncope episodes in two years. My EKGs and my stress tests all come back with flying colors. What in the world will this test tell?

  • This test can show any type of syncope, which it is a test for, or it can show orthostatic intolerance. What that does is when they tilt you, your heart rate could immediately increase 30+ bpm.

I had one syncope episode, and it was while I was driving and had an accident. My EEG's and EKG were normal. I had a tilt table, and since then, they have determined I have POTS because I have orthostatic intolerance and symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness, and fatigue.

    Good luck!

  • Oh, and headaches... And I'm only 30...I've been having this issue for 7 years.

  • I failed (passed out) on a table tilt test, but I'm not sure what to do now? They just told me to increase my salt to 10g a day and increase fluids. Seems sketchy to me. They said no further tests were needed, but I still get the upset stomach, heat flashes, sweating, passing out feeling when I'm standing...so what now??

  • i take "Thermotabs" which are some kind of buffered salt pill. they help SOOO much. You can get them at a regular pharmacy. and i take two pills every morning. but it took 7 cardiologists to realize thats what i needed. -_-

  • @morsedv . I also passed out within 3 minutes of test and was diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension and was put on fluocourt which has stopped the fainting spells, but I now have other autonomic nervous problems which include neurogenic bladder.

  • I think it's possible I may have ortostatic intolerance or some form of dysautonomia. How do I learn more about this,I feel like I have no say when it comes to where doctors send me to figure out what I have. I'd like to at least get a tilt table test to rule out what I do and don't have.

  • what i dont get is why is this different to simply standing up. Doctors are not sure whether i have epilepsy or one of those conditions that you lot keep mentioning and I have one of these tests coming up. How does this make you faint, where simply standing up for 10 minutes wouldnt...?

  • I'm no expert, but I remember I wasn't supposed to tense my legs at all (like you would when you stand up). Ugh - I passed out five minutes into my tilt table.

  • Had a TTT done today< I fainted last week and have 6 stitches on my forehead as evidence, The tilt table test simulates ones reaction when having a episode as I did. I passed out 40sec while being vertical on the table. It was as close to 'the real thing' cold sweats, racing heartbeat, ears ringing. For those considering having this procedure done...Dont be stressed out, it is safe and simple.

  • I have neurocardiogenic syncope/autonomic nervous system dysfunction. The SAME thing happened to me what you saw - I failed after 8 minutes. I was passing out at work and got fired for it. It's horrible. I'm not recovering. Good luck to you.

  • You got fired!!!?? Bloody hell! I was diagnosed yesterday with NCS, although I knew this is what I had before then. I have to hand in my driving licence, I'm hoping this isn't going to effect my job. I hope you sued your employer! This condition isn't taken seriously by employers or the general public. It can really ruin your life if you let it. I hope things are getting better for you now.

  • Testing

  • I have NeuroCardioGenic Syncope and I'm getting this test done TOMORROW!

    I'm pretty nervous about it.

Has anyone ever taken this test and not passed it?

I want to know what happens in that case.

  • I'm 15 and I'm getting a Tilt Table Test done in two days. I'm pretty nervous about it because I faint ALL the time and it really is NOT fun:( And I don't like the idea of being made to pass out. The doctors think that I have Orthostatic Intolerance. Does anybody else have that?

  • Hi jujubear - My daughter is 15 and has POTS/Dysautonomia. She had the tilt test. Don't worry. It will help the doctors figure out why you are fainting and hopefully know how to treat it. If nothing else, it helps confirm to the doctors something you already know - Something Is Wrong!

  • I have orthostatic Intolerance, I was diagnosed when I was 14, and I can tell you there is no cure for it, well at least that is what my doctors tell me, at first they were wanting to put a pace maker in but upon research that doesn't work, I have had this blasted thing for 6 years now and it has taken over my life, and they say there is nothing they can do about it. So if you find out something new let me know!

  • I have neurocardiogenic syncope and the Dr. has put me on these meds and they seem to work. Ask your Dr. and see what he/she thinks. Lots of questions with this type of thing I will continue to post as I find out more and have more tests. The meds are:Fludrocortisone, Proamatine, and Pindolol. Takes awhile to get used to the meds-everyone reacts different. I have had these symptoms since I was about 14 and I am 35 now. Dr.'s need to spend a little more time with their patients and listen more!

  • My wife has been diagnose with neurocardiogenic syncope but instead of passing out she has a grand maul seizure have you ever experienced this in your situation

  • i have that same thing

  • There are a lot of people in this room, there were only two techs when I had my TTT.

And for those wondering. Vasovagal Syncope is a condition which the common faint is referred as. There are conditions though that go beyond the common faint because the heart never speeds up when it is supposed to so fainting/dizzy spells are much more frequent than the "normal" person. Such a condition (which I have) would be Vasodepressor Neuocardiagenic Syncope...very close to but not exactly Vasovagal.

  • Dude I need to take this test. Like two years now every time I stand up my vision goes dark, ears ring or buzz, I get this hot feeling headache and I have to stop and close my eyes. Not pleasant. Today I saw blue sparkles though, which was kinda cool! :3 I think I only ever passed out once, and woke up on the carpet with a cut on my head :/

  • yaa im 15 years old and i was just diagnosed with this but i didnt have to take that test thank god bc everytime i stood up i passed out so i couldnt imagine being positioned like that for that long.

  • I am 16yrs old..i found out i had this when i was 15. I took a tilt table test and i passed out within 1 min. i was scared to death.!

  • Yeah, I just found out I had Vasovagal syncope yesterday. I was standing regularly just on my own at my cardiologist, and they told me to lock my knees and stand there for 10 minutes, and didn't tell me what could happen.

I ended up passing out in 8 minutes just from standing there, and I'm not very old. Not fun at all...

  • I just learned today about suspension trauma. Had no freakin idea, that if you are suspended in an upright position that you WILL faint, and if you cannot fall over or sit you will die!

  • This isn't the same thing... in the test you aren't suspended, you have a brace under your foot so you can stand. "Normal" people could stand there all day and be fine... people with vasovagal syncope can only stand for maybe 10-15 minutes before they pass out.

  • vasovagal syncope is not a disease. It is when the body responds to a specific stimuli by slowing the heart rate. The result is the Central Ischaemic Response, which is when the body does not receive sufficient oxygen. This is also known as a syncope. Anyone can get it, but some people are more susceptible. If you stand for about an hour or two without moving, you'll see.

  • true it's not a disease in the sense that you could catch it, but it is what the syndrome of being highly susceptible is called. As in, "I have vasovagal syncope." Meaning "give me your bus seat before I pass out." :D

  • incidentally, this is how people who are crucified die- they basically suffocate. When you are suspended your diaphragm has no support, which eventually makes it impossible to breathe.

  • That is true about crucifixion, but the TTT does not suspend you. The patient is standing up on their feet, just strapped in case they are near fainting or faint.

  • scroll up... that was pointed out in my original reply :)

  • Oops, sorry, giblet76, sure did miss it.

  • neat
