Varimathras 3.2 Voice Change

i think Varimathras was removed from in-game because he killed himself upon hearing this new voice he was given. I'd forgotten it... man, it was terrible.

His new voice is Jamieson Price, one of the best voice actors of all time (He's Lu Bu ffs!) but I agree, Vari's old voice waz far more suiting, and they just murdered Sylvanas altogether.

Bliz had kind of ruined Sylvanas and Varimithras for me with their shitty voice changes and it pisses me off so much because they were along my favorite characters.

They both sounded sinister and brooding before. Now Sylvanas sounds like a pommy robo-bitch and Varimithras just sounds dull, and they sound over dramatic now too.

I hate it when fictional characters get ruined.

Here, he sounds a little sinister but not diabolical like the old one. This one sounds like "I'm gonna stab you in the back." while the old one sounded like "Your soul shall be lost in the void" kinda like.

And no, that would be Liam O'brien(who works with Jamieson Price[Varimathras here]). But the way you said that makes me assume you think they hired 2 different VAs for Illidan in BC from trailer to BT. It's still Liam though everyone else is giving Jeff Bennet the credit. And cause of the structure of the work, he would have to have been out for weeks(bliz would push back record dates if need be), which he wasn't at the possible times(was working on other work around the same time).

That's not Metzen, that's Jamieson Price, who works at Bang Zoom Studios(the group that does like60-80% of anime dubbing nowadays[rising from the ashes of all the lesser dub groups in the late 90's, XD). For more WoW examples, he's voiced over 20 characters in WoW since BC, ranging from Shade of Aran, to Sartharion, to Yogg-saron and more.

The big reason they revoiced Varimathras is because of consistency with potential future lines he'll have(I took that as a hint of Vari being alive still)

They got changed because new voice acting was added for the Battle of Undercity (culmination of a quest chain in Dragonblight), and they were unable to get Varimathras and Sylvanas' original Voice Actors - thus, replacements were needed.

Sylvanas' voice actor got fired and Arthas' voice actor got an embarrassingly low deal for WOTLK so he didn't sign on.

Blizz should learn the importance of a good voice actor. It would have definitely been worth the money to have both of them in WOTLK....and its not like WoW isn't making blizz a fat payload.

Actually, bliz hires from the biggest company in the business. Bang Zoom! has high quality voice actors but because of their "union" like structure, they're still cheap. Most of the other voice actors outside of Bang Zoom! quit voice acting, and the Arthas guy asking for lots was probably cause he wanted non union pay, possibly up to 100-1000's of times more expensive(aka, like what niko's VA from GTAIV wanted compared to what he got cause of union structure.)

That's because they fired Sylvanas original voice actor who also voiced kerrigan/ zerg queen and many other voices in blizzard's games.

There was some really bad fallout after they fired her for no good reason.

c'mon paul eiding is still working with blizzard(sc 2 protoss advisor) they could have hired him to do the job back then.. warcraft's been losing all of its appeal to me both in sounds and visuals.

i hope he will be narrating diablo 3 as it has become a tradition for blizzard to have paul eiding narrating diablo series.
