apparently because there's no ecu it doesn't make much difference, performance wise anyway. Did you use a standard cone kit? usually, especially on old minis the filter is a big oval on the carb. Well it had an old manky pancake filter on there before so it made a lot of difference. The idea of a K&N filter is it has near to 0 air resistance so can get better air fuel mix. Its not forced the filter fits direct to the SU.

How much difference does the air filter really make though? how did you get a cone filter? is it forced?
