  • i usually bury them

  • lol thats the best thing

  • I burn mine in the wood stove. I herd that if the fire is hot enough it keeps the emisions down. I use oak or madrone.

  • Those long speach bubbles crack me up.

  • hahaha why was their a lose belly fat thing on the bottom are they saying rodney is fat..... oohhhh thats why we only see his body up to his shoulders hahahahah just kidding. I enjoy taking apart only computers old intels or amds their great but back then the chips were very the same.

    Felicitaciones.

  • or u can give it to me ;)

  • rubbish

    just to state the obvious

  • DirectX 11 coming

  • It's like he knows what I'm doing with my PC all questions have been relevent to me.

  • Me too

  • #40 - question/answer. can the GTX 280 Grpahic card be liqued cooled ?

  • I guess

  • Why not?

  • do you know where i can get a POWERFULL alienware at discount? i really want a gaming pc and i'v heard alienware is the thing.

  • Well, if you're up for it, you can buy parts individually and make yourself a beast for under 2K. I, myself, am making a PC for ~1500, that similarly specced at Dell runs over 2000 and at Alienware (with a some better parts) runs ~2500.

  • thanks!

  • Custom build your pc.

    Alienware - *shudders*

  • can you get 1920 x 1080 resoultion on a 20" monitor. and will it support full 1080p

17" laptops are able to support 1920 x 1080 resoultion and 1080p. Is there a monitor with this resolution

  • i am pretty sure i just got a boner

  • me too but it quickly went away when he started talking about wiping the hard drive.. thats just dirty

  • Aren't some of the metals that they use in hardware also running short in the world?

  • Hey, could anyone tell me where i send my question to Rodney? Thanks!

  • #24 - Question/Answer: How to contact me with a question

  • thank you rodney

  • opps I'm blind. thanks Rodney.

  • hey..say i take out an old video card or some shit//and want 2 keep it...do i put it in a antistatic bag? i dont have any old 1's...can u buy em? ...sounds like a waiste of money..is there a diy way?

  • I take a kitchen tushue and put it around teh cards an then store it in a big carton with much others. Hardrives do i store in a row in a woodern box

  • Unfortunately, a lot of recycling is done in third world countries which just makes a few dollars for them and they're left with getting rid of the leftovers..

  • I collect old hardware and unwanted stuff, make comps and donate them to families that could not otherwise afford one. I even offer to help teach ppl too. Its a nice way of giving back. Great video message and thanks!

  • You rule Rodney

  • Lead gives you brain caner. (sorry had too)

I usually sell my leftover parts to make upgrading easier, or give them to friends/family.

  • you know all electronics have some gold inside them and electronics recycle companies make more gold then a huge gold mine

  • LOL SO IF I SELL MY UNWANTED hardware i can get millions? lol i dont get it

  • electronics are expensive because it has expensive metals on them. so if you have a lab to remove these metals you'll probably get back like half of money you spent on that electronic

  • umm. yah right

  • can u please do a antec twelve hundred case review

  • I need to do a Q&A video on this! I contacted Antec about reviewing the twelve hundred case, but they haven't sent one yet. So until they send one I can't review it.

  • i sell my stuff on craigslist (dot) org

  • A friend of mine works at a dump site and they sort it out. He found a whole computer tower. Someone trashed a whole computer can you believe that? Well he brought it to me and I was able to salvage and sell most of the things except the dead motherboard. Everything including the Hard drive was still functional so I salvaged them. I was shocked. I thought that he was bringing me a computer to repair like always. LoL

  • i have hardware from 1989 in my attic lol

  • awesum

  • Very good question and answer!

  • Last night I ripped apart an old gateway. Took out the hard drive, CD burner, and mobo...which is mounted on my wall... and threw the case in the recycling...not sure If the city will take it though.

  • The city probably won't, but a junk collector might ;)

  • 3DGAMEMAN winked at me!!!

  • excited??

  • Not really... I'm just being an asshole.

  • what did you use to get the text bubbels

  • These talk bubbles you are referring to are part of YouTube's video annotations.

  • The hardest for me to get rid of are large CRT monitors, no one wants them, let alone buy them... BUT I found that Staples will take them for $10.

  • Im selling my 8600 GTS on ebay lol

  • great advice...

I would seriously suggest if you do have a working computer that you should donate it to your local public school. There is always a shortage of PC's in the schools

  • a working computer...that you dont want :D

  • i either completley take apart old comp parts(hard drives r fun =P), or reuse it

  • destroy your hd

  • you should review the 4850 :D

  • When you recycle your HDD it ends up in Nigeria where they retrieve you personal details such as bank details and commit fraud with them. Even if you format you HDD they can still do this with a software.

My advice is to get it flashed

  • with what ? EMP ? LOL

  • dban works nicely from what i hear though. :)

  • DBAN my friend, and swipe a magnet across after DBAN.....

  • What i did with a lot of my hardware, because over time i ended up with enough to make 2 whole computers (without monitors), so i cleaned up all the hardware, built it into the old cases i also had, and gave them to the local community PCYC...

They were low range at best because of the old hardware, but still good enough for basic usage, browsing the net, even playing older games..

  • I usually sell/give my old parts to others or make myself another computer if I have enough extra parts.

  • i just sell or give away my parts to friends or family

  • Rodney is king

  • I keep it right now i use my old tower for my laptop and it acts as a heat sink for my CPU because my laptop is so thin there is no room for a heat sink i use my old hardrive for well i just sit it there i just like spinning it.

  • very good answer for this question, also another thing I like to do is keep my old hardware incase my new hardware fails and keep it as a backup. Very good point about the enviroment =)

  • Thank you for the info! I've wanted to know this for a while now :-)

  • My town has a computer recycling facility so you might want to check around your yellow books.

  • you right!

I've sold my old PCs and PC components at my friends or sent in Russia.

I've never throw nothing in the garbage. This components have some parts that contain mercury, Pb and other dangereous chemical stuff like batteries.

  • a large amount of our computers components go in china.... chinese people burn hardware...

    it's a seriously comment.... i'm not joking

  • Yup i heard that...My class has been talking about that.

  • you can use an old 500mhz computer and build an arcade cabinet with it, thousands of arcade games with the arcade joystick layout like street fighter 2. google x-arcade and MAME. also use parts for testing /diagnosing other computers. ive seen hard drive shell casing used as ashtrays, hard drive magnets used to develope home made type of generators.

  • I sell the individual parts of mine on ebay when im done

  • Cheers for the advise. Dont understand why people would bin good hardware like that I always end up keeping it for backup!

  • I sell, or i just put it in the basement :P
