When I was 11,12,13,14,15 I was cycling 40kms everyday. Then at 16,17,18,19, 20 I was cycling 80kms everyday in the forest, bestest memories of my whole life was in that forest called Riverhead Forest which is in New Zealand. I have lost the interest in mountain biking/ cycling and I am 22 years old I can't stand pedaling a bike anymore I just did so much of it all my life I started ever since I was 4 on training wheels. I have taken up new things now but love those memories of the forest.
I love looking at my photos of myself when I was 17 and 18 years old. I am 22 years old now and I am making sure I take photos of myself and store them on my hard drive that is connected to my computer. I have a backup of all the photos of me growing up so I will be able to keep them all the way until I get gray and old at the age of 100. People make sure you take photos of yourself trust me I am glad I did when I was 16,17,18,19 years old and I still am taking photo's.
baz lurhmann is the best. he inspired me to become a director. something i would have never considered until i found out about him. his movies are soo amazing and i think that he deserved this tribute.
and i have that bed, i think everyone does anyore, darn you Mathis Bros. lol ;)
BAZ IS AMAZING!!! Romeo and Juliet is Fab, Moulin Rouge is my favorite and it is so amazing and innovative!! i love strictly ballroom and i cannot wait for the new one with Nicole and Hugh Jackman!! :))
Great vlog! I have heard of some of the movies that he made and of him as well. Not sure I have seen any of his work. Most great directors and actors are not considered/called "celebrities" = )
7 - true, I was just doing a series about my celebrity obsessions sooooooo... Thanks, I have his making of Chanel N 5 featured on my channel right now.
Baz (or Bazza as we call him) is just another in our long line of us talented Aussies. I know Bazza is a tad busy at the moment but I'd be happy to direct you in a few scenes.
Yak - Bazza? Really, I haven't heard that before. Must be an Aussie secret. I've heard him called BLAM. He is busy over there workin' on that new flick. He spends years on his masterpieces to who knows when we'll get to see it. Tell him hi from me when you see him at the grocery store.
He's got a great style, not much of a fan of the Romeo an Juliet, but visually it was beautiful...you have pretty good taste Stacie...keep it up. By the way, lots of new names around your channel....good job!
eire - we've got a few new folks. the channel is growing slowly, but growing, for sure! I don't know who most of them are. They are quiet. I like my talkers, like YOU!
hmmmmm...Bazzzzzzz, huh? Sounds like Brazzzzzz, I like it! And look at all those views at your the videos! Congrats Stacie...you deserve it! *bows and leaves Her Famousness*
mrs. electric chair and i saw moulin rouge on one of our first dates. i recall thinking the movie was like a "circus on crack." of course i didn't express those feelings until several years later, when i had already tricked her into marrying me.
MC - there is a lot of truth to that. The movie begins with a nice round of green flaming absinthe with a fairy. Do you think of it as a women's type movie? I never have. My husband loves it, really does, no faking : )
i don't think its a "girl movie," my wife just REALLY likes that movie. she was sobbing by the end. so i decided it might be a good idea to hold back on the "circus on crack" comment for a good six years or so, haha.
but she's a good sport, i watch the movie she likes, and she humors me suffers through movies i like.
this weekend we watched "death proof" together - which surprisingly she kind of liked.
My wife and I were just talking about Moulin Rouge the other day. I loved it, she was troubled by it. But neither of us can ever get it out of our minds. Baz is insane in a very wonderful way.
Kenrg - We were the same way at first. We sat in the Theater after is was over dumbfounded. We did not know what to think. He is the King of tragedy. You don't feel good leaving, but you just want to see it again, and again, and again, not for the happy ending, but for the wild ride.
Hey man cool beans Stacie! Looking forward to it. He's new to me, but I remember I did like Moulin Rouge. Think I'll add something of his to our netflix queue, any ideas?
Kenwood - If you liked Moulin Rouge I would say try Romeo and Juliet. Strictly ballroom is VERY Indie - ish. Filmed in Australia and so forth. Good, of course. Both are good. You cannot lose!
Cool, thanks for the advice! I think we'll check out Strictly Ballroom as Shakespeare is always tricky to do well on screen. Indie is good, I like independent stuff, hehe YT came along at the right time yeah? I'm so tired of the Hollywood word machine.
Kenwood - I will share my indie opinion with you : ). I think Hollywood will do a little more sitting back in the future and let indiewood spend their own $ on film making, then Hollywood can buy the finished product for pennies on the dollar, then make millions at their expense.
What? Could it be true that there are parasitic elements in Hollywood who have no problem exploiting the hard work of artists just trying to get their stuff out there? And who then feed their families with those dollars?! Please say it isn't so! Ugh. Good thing I had my run otherwise my KB would be smoking right now lol. Some things about Hollywood are so smarmy. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see that in the future. Not at all.
Kenwood - As I'm sure you are aware - Napoleon Dynamite was bought for pennies, the actors barely paid and Fox Searchlight made MILLIONS! Not a bad thing, just true.
FunOFun - If I were your teacher you would have heard of him. They are probably filling your head with Citizen and PULP. This is why I am doing this, to open the minds of film lovers to this great somewhat overlooked director, when he is one of the most daring in the business!

SoCal- I'll tell you what I told illum - When I saw this movie for the first time in the theater I was beside myself for 2 reasons. 1st - It was like nothing I had ever experienced before and I was swept away. 2nd - People were standing up, walking out of the Theater. I couldn't believe we were at the same movie. I couldn't understand how they had been right there watching with me, but missed the boat...
SoCal - I guess it spoke to some and not others. I can't get enough. I rarely make it all the way through. It's just so beautiful that I love watching.
wo I had no idea. Im so glad you into movies! what is he doing now again? is there anything hes doing that will be in wide release Stac? I still hav to see moulin rouge. romeo and juliet, that was stylish and the way he directed now that i think about it was almost a poem in itself-besides the Shakespear of course. maybe it was becasue we had to watch the 50s version right before that in my english class. ha
Ruffio - Baz is in Australia right now working on the movie "Australia" It's starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. He puts a lot of time and effort into his movies so who knows exactly when he'll be done. His movies are timeless because they are not of our world, but taking place in another universe.
Rufio - I went to visit the real Moulin Rouge in Paris after the movie and it is very little like the imagination of BAZ. It pales sadly in comparison!
stacie...this was good. very down to earth. very informative actually. i like it alot. more so than the J. Depp..but that's just me..not a criticism at all..just a personal choice.
clay - yea, the JD was more crazy than anything else. It came off completely different than what I was going for, oh well! I hope other film lovers will learn to love BAZ as well.
Narc - I can't say that I've heard of Cassavette. If you can send me a clip or something of his work. I'd be interested to see. You would probably LOVE the colors and the camera work in anything by BAZ. He is my favorite!
Melt- I will! I got through undergrad, then hubby, I got my masters, hubby then went to medical school. He has 7 months 'till he's a Dr. Then MY TURN!!!!! Hopefully in Film or Media Arts.
Eisteins - I shall. Just letting you know my first featured BAZ clip is from Moulin Rouge, and it's up on my channel page if you would like to check it out.
Er...its "Bdup" can you stop calling me Baz Stacie, you would of thought being such a fan of mine you would get my name right! So this week is my week on your channel hey? Sweet! oh and my second name aint Luhrmann get your facts right *Tut and sigh* LMFAO
Its always goodtimes when Bdup is the house even if it is on his own, your right though i never get bored im always amusing my self...........i think il stop just there! as this is a family site and plus i just burnt my toast gutted!
Im having a toast party come round, this time your invited so you dont have loiter outside you obsessive dirrdy birrdy LMFAO Ever seen the film misery? "Im your number one fan" i think thats what the women says :)
The woman in question as regards to the movie i mentioned is Kathy Bates she's is a right mentalist in that movie, but no i ent seen the movie you mentioned but it dont matter i know you love bein my number one fan and thats all there is to it!....actually there's more, can you tell Chad im not in to male stalkers lmao :)
Full of jokes me! What am i like? Mr Funny or summink haha Some might say comedy genius, but yet some might say i need to get out a bit more......i personally agree with the second one :)
Because i end up laughing at my own jokes and to myself, which when i reflect back i find quite disturbing and i think to myself you geek! As for your motto...perfect for sleeping in "why get out the bed if you dont have too" saying that i bet you dont get to lay in that often with the little fellows running around everywhere.......unless you feed them some whiskey lmao
HAHAHA, that's funny because my brother and I used to laugh at all this weird stuff that no one else thought was funny and so we started calling it "home-school jokes" because when you are around home-schooled kids they start laughing at stuff no one gets or thinks is funny. I was NOT home-schooled btw
I actually walk down the street and start giggling to myself...but like i said its giggling not laughing and when your a 26 year old bloke that aint good...you look like a freak walking down the street but then again i seem to do to that anyway without giggling lmao
princess - Strictly Ballroom. Ahhhhh, Could it be love?, no, not really, but it is ... something... Chad and I love to Ballroom dance. : ) Enjoy! Celebrate! for BAZ is the best director in my book.
I agree with you 100%!! It's funny about Moulin Rouge...either you love it or hate it. I'm with you, I love it! Looking forward to your Baz week...but do heed CM's advice!
Illuminatta - I would NEVER intentionally break a copyright law. I am VERY careful. I do not have legal permission to upload anything of his. This is why I will be featuring clips from other channels whom I assume have taken all the proper legal steps; at least that is what they promised when they uploaded the video.
Illuminatta - I was justing thinking about how you said "love it or hate it" When I saw this movie for the first time in the theater I was beside myself for 2 reasons. 1st - It was like nothing I had ever experienced before and I was swept away. 2nd - People were standing up, walking out of the Theater. I couldn't believe we were at the same movie. I couldn't understand how they had been right there watching with me, but still missed the boat...
Illuminatta - Just letting you know my first featured BAZ clip is from Moulin Rouge, and it's up on my channel page if you would like to check it out.
Thanks Christopher for the tips. I am very carefully to NEVER put anything copywritten on my channel I will be featuring clips I have found from other channels, whom I am assuming have taken all the proper legal steps to place the clips on here.
Copywritten... and it doesn't matter if you've gotten them from indirect sources. PLUS, even if the other person has gotten permission to post it on their channel, that doesn't cover you. I'm not trying to be a jerk or a wet blanket, it's just that you seem cool and I don't want cool people getting in trouble. The YouTube copyright police have already struck me... I took down almost twenty videos because of it :)
Really? If someone else has a video up and I favorite it and it shows up on my channel then I get in trouble for favoriting it? I am NOT going to post or upload anything of his for sure! I do not have permission. Other people may, but I do not. I would not want it done to me! Thanks for your concern on my behalf!
OH... I didn't realize you meant FAVORITE it :) I think if someone else posts it and all you do is make mention of where to find it, you're alright. I thought you meant you were going to rip the video from someone else's site (using one of the various techniques like vixy dot net or FLVR) and post a copy as your own video.
As a side note, the most popular video I had (over 100,000 views) was yanked 'cause the original footage got SOLD to Nat'l Geographic. When I made the video, I had permission from the original owner of the footage to do my version. When he sold his footage to Nat'l Geographic, I lost my rights to use the footage (maybe I could have made a case, but it's not worth that huge a legal battle for a YouTube video!).
When I was 11,12,13,14,15 I was cycling 40kms everyday. Then at 16,17,18,19, 20 I was cycling 80kms everyday in the forest, bestest memories of my whole life was in that forest called Riverhead Forest which is in New Zealand. Never seen any Baz Luhrmann, though have been meaning to catch Moulin Rouge.
Have you heard of American film maker John Cassavette who was also a very good actor, one of the best.
He made 'A Woman Under the Influence'
narcoleptus 4 years ago
Narc - I can't say that I've heard of Cassavette. If you can send me a clip or something of his work. I'd be interested to see. You would probably LOVE the colors and the camera work in anything by BAZ. He is my favorite!

TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Full of jokes me! What am i like? Mr Funny or summink haha Some might say comedy genius, but yet some might say i need to get out a bit more......i personally agree with the second one :)
Bdup81 4 years ago
Bdup - why get out if you don't have too? My personal motto.
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Because i end up laughing at my own jokes and to myself, which when i reflect back i find quite disturbing and i think to myself you geek! As for your motto...perfect for sleeping in "why get out the bed if you dont have too" saying that i bet you dont get to lay in that often with the little fellows running around everywhere.......unless you feed them some whiskey lmao
Bdup81 4 years ago
HAHAHA, that's funny because my brother and I used to laugh at all this weird stuff that no one else thought was funny and so we started calling it "home-school jokes" because when you are around home-schooled kids they start laughing at stuff no one gets or thinks is funny. I was NOT home-schooled btw
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
I actually walk down the street and start giggling to myself...but like i said its giggling not laughing and when your a 26 year old bloke that aint good...you look like a freak walking down the street but then again i seem to do to that anyway without giggling lmao

Illuminatta 4 years ago
Illuminatta - I would NEVER intentionally break a copyright law. I am VERY careful. I do not have legal permission to upload anything of his. This is why I will be featuring clips from other channels whom I assume have taken all the proper legal steps; at least that is what they promised when they uploaded the video.
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Illuminatta - I was justing thinking about how you said "love it or hate it" When I saw this movie for the first time in the theater I was beside myself for 2 reasons. 1st - It was like nothing I had ever experienced before and I was swept away. 2nd - People were standing up, walking out of the Theater. I couldn't believe we were at the same movie. I couldn't understand how they had been right there watching with me, but still missed the boat...

So make the Baz Luhrmann thing happen! :)
Careful with the video clips and songs... the copyright police are out in full force, ya know!
ChristopherMast 4 years ago
Thanks Christopher for the tips. I am very carefully to NEVER put anything copywritten on my channel I will be featuring clips I have found from other channels, whom I am assuming have taken all the proper legal steps to place the clips on here.
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Copyrighted copywritten, I never get that right!
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Copywritten... and it doesn't matter if you've gotten them from indirect sources. PLUS, even if the other person has gotten permission to post it on their channel, that doesn't cover you. I'm not trying to be a jerk or a wet blanket, it's just that you seem cool and I don't want cool people getting in trouble. The YouTube copyright police have already struck me... I took down almost twenty videos because of it :)
ChristopherMast 4 years ago
Really? If someone else has a video up and I favorite it and it shows up on my channel then I get in trouble for favoriting it? I am NOT going to post or upload anything of his for sure! I do not have permission. Other people may, but I do not. I would not want it done to me! Thanks for your concern on my behalf!
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
OH... I didn't realize you meant FAVORITE it :) I think if someone else posts it and all you do is make mention of where to find it, you're alright. I thought you meant you were going to rip the video from someone else's site (using one of the various techniques like vixy dot net or FLVR) and post a copy as your own video.
ChristopherMast 4 years ago
As a side note, the most popular video I had (over 100,000 views) was yanked 'cause the original footage got SOLD to Nat'l Geographic. When I made the video, I had permission from the original owner of the footage to do my version. When he sold his footage to Nat'l Geographic, I lost my rights to use the footage (maybe I could have made a case, but it's not worth that huge a legal battle for a YouTube video!).
