Some foods, in particular those containing mainly fructose, react differently when diabetics consume them. These foods have very similar glycemic response to pure glucose and need careful consideration when selecting a diet.
Sweet fruits and honey need to be treated with caution by diabetics even though their apparent "glycemic Index" is low. I approached this subject in-

The question I ask is what would Rory know about this ?

Best diet for diabetics would be something more along the lines of South Beach or Atkins. Glycemic control without meat and more plant-based is actually a step backwards.

This is what I have been advocating for some time.
High carbohydrate diets are a definite no go for diabetics. Insulin dosage is only partly effective in controlling high blood sugar as dosage is hard to estimate accurately. Logically, the idea is to minimize carbohydrates and rely on fat and protein to supply body glucose needs.
Still, these VEGAN and RAW fanatics will try to tell you otherwise,

It's appalling to see how many 'experts' even partially condone ingestion of high glycemic foods, of any type, for diabetics. And then shun the use of what is known about the ill-effects high GI foods have on health in general. It's almost criminal they could advise anyone on 'diet'.

The biggest problem with VEGAN and RAW diets is the heavy reliance placed on carbohydrates, in particular sugars, both natural or processed. Sugars are very addictive and OVER consumption of them leads to diabetics.
Not true. A balanced diet is composed of carbohydrates, protein and healthy fats. It's very possible to get all of these on a vegan diet - even a raw vegan diet. Clearly you know NOTHING about veganism or nutrition for that matter.

Omnivore
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Omnivores are species that eat both plants and animals as their primary food source. They are opportunistic, general feeders not specifically adapted to eat and digest either meat or plant material exclusively.[1] Pigs are one well-known example of an omnivore.[2] Crows are another example of an omnivore that many people see every day.[3] Humans are also omnivores.

I have come to the conclusion that VEGANS are straight out hypocrites ! Their diet is based on very exotic and very expensive foods such as fruits, nuts and seeds. These foods can only be growth on very fertile land with abundant water supply.
In contrast, meat animals are raised on poor grazing lands, NOT the feed lots they erroneously claim. Sure chickens and pigs are intensely farmed, but they don't need to be.
Veganism need not be exotic or expensive. Many of us eat on a budget and get things like peanut butter, apples, dry beans and rice, etc. I've found that my grocery bill is cheaper now that I no longer buy animal products.
Of course, this is my take on it. It would be great is more people became vegan, but it's not my place to tell them to.

Just cleared up the other Skinny Bitch site. Now to start with this one !!!
The biggest problem with VEFAN and RAW diets is the heavy reliance placed on carbohydrates, in particular sugars, both natural or processed. Sugars are very addictive and OVER consumption of them leads to diabetics.
I am NOT a TROLL and I consider it to be offensive to call me one !
vegans are the least likely people to have diabetes. Its a scientific fact.
I can tell that your not a vegan, and you dont know what your talking about. Carbs are good for us. And if you have actually read the skinny bitch book, youll know it advises to have as little processed and sugary foods as possible.
not true i have a friend who is vegan and has diabetes type 1 but i guess she inherited that from her dad and her dad's mom died from diabetes its heredetary.
you're certainly less likely to develop diabetes if you are vegan, but obviously it has little effect if its heredetary, though it may help to control the diabetes
i know but im saying that diabetes is heredetary u can inherit it just like my friend did i know it can prevent it but once its in ur family blood line u have a greater risk of getting it than a person with no diabetical history

umm, the author might be thin, but she's flabby! all the vegetarians and vegans i know are either puffy or flabby, unless there men. the men are skinny. always.
Plenty? That's just one... And it's wrong. Vegans can get B-12 from many non-animal sources. But you don't need a ton of B-12 in your system either. And you should really look into HOW animals get b-12 in their systems, cows do not naturally produce B-12. Do your research please.

it means we eat both and need both. when you stop eating meat you end up malnutritioned and start looking like skinny bitch. and study any vegan cultures hey dont last long and are very unhealthy
Yeah, and meat has added hormones plus stress hormones from when the animal was slaughtered and so many toxins, too! Yum! All the "nutritional" info we get about meat is paid for by the meet & dairy industries, need I say more?
Ok I am glad she is living a healthy lifestyle, but I am sorry. She has always been thin, so she really doesn't know what struggling with weight is all about. She wrote a book called Skinny Bitch with the idea that veganism will solve weight problems, but has never had one herself? Now I was going to buy the book, but no, I don't think so anymore. No offense.
I'm not able to kick the Diet Coke habit. I'd love to have a chef to prepare meals for me. I am so lazy that I, like many, reach for processed food. While I am thin, due to watching my carbs and eating reasonably, I am sure I could feel better. I am intrigued by Rory's diet.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Don't worry about the diet Coke. It's the sugared variety which is the big problem,
The ONLY thing anyone needs to control is the amount of food you eat. A normal balanced diet is not the problem. Going to high sugar VEGAN or RAW diets is definitely NOT the way to go !

relax baby be cool, don't get your panties all in a knot. first off, b12, unlike calcium, is depedent on an animal source. tell me, what would you do if b12 sups were no longer available? you'd have to join the natural food chain wouldn't you or better yet maybe you and your comrades could start eating cow manure instead of the cow. second, certified organic meat, which i buy locally, is inspected to ensure humane practice therefore your point is moot.
No, I'd probably be fine since I probably have B12-producing bacteria living in my intestines like everyone does. It can take up to 20 years for a deficiency to develop, because B12 is absorbed & reabsorbed in your body. So if a sudden shortage of vitamins occurred, I wouldn't worry. I also wouldn't go back to eating meat.
The overwhelming majority of people with B12 deficiency are meaters. Explain that.
Furthermore, you can say all you like that you buy locally inspected organic meat, I just don't believe you.
My logic tells me that someone who talks in the abusive, sexist, demeaning language you use and who makes a goal of harassing people for caring about animal rights doesn't make any sort of effort - let alone the complicated task of ascertaining that their meat is humane. Its a contradiction.
you vegans delude yourselves thinking eating animal products is wrong. how do you suppose we got this far without b12 supplements? hey? that's what i thought. the rational position is to take in protein from animals treated humanely but you do-gooders can't wrap your tofu-clogged craniums around that one can you. the sad, cruel fact, kids, is that something has to die for something to live. go chew on that for awhile.
B12 is produced by neither animal nor plant... It comes from bacteria. The bacteria can inhabit our own intestines, where B12 is produced & absorbed into the body. That's also how it comes from meat. B12 is stored in your body for years, and a vegan diet is actually quite unlikely to result in B12 deficiency because the daily intake requirement is 2-3 micro-grams (not milligrams).
The facts about B12 do not support the meat-saturated typical American diet.
Its quite well-documented that the overwhelming majority of commercially available meat & dairy is produced through excessively cruel practices. Not only that, but most corporate agribusiness livestock is pumped full of hormones & antibiotics.
Why are so many antibiotic-resistant diseases are showing up? Its because antibiotics are overused in both humans & animals alike.
listen sweetheart, I said animals that are treated humanely which implies no use of hormones...as for b12, why is that veganhealthdotorg recommends a daily intake of a b12 supplement? we're done, now be a good girl and go fix me a ham sandwich.
All throughout history, people have had vitamin deficiencies... That's nothing new. What is new, is our technology. We're able to get citrus fruits to areas that don't grow them naturally & we're able to make convenient little pills so that everyone (EVEN MEATERS) can get all their vitamins.
The website you mention probably recommends it because most meater-idiots like you want to use it as a scare tactic against veganism.
BTW, your sexist comments to me only show how ignorant YOU truly are. I think you're using that to try & deflect from the real issue which is that I am more informed on the subject than you are.
On the subject of 'humanely treated' farm animals -- you're in a fucking dream world if you believe that's true. There IS no regulatory process for putting terms like 'free range' on a product. It's like the words 'natural flavor added' -- it means NOTHING.
Oh, and I LOVE how many anti-vegan trolls suddenly become patrons of free-range & organic foods when they are out-gunned by a vegan. Yeah, I'm quite sure that someone who can laugh at & make light of animal cruelty actually puts the time and money into ensuring that the meat they buy is treated humanely in life. LOL
If you'd put in the effort to research so-called 'humane' meat, you'd know that its almost nonexistent & thus claiming to subsist on it is totally stupid. You're obviously lying.
did you see this bitch roll her eyes after that girl told her she drinks coffee? Yah thats really positive....why are vegans always condescending, self righteous, and manipulative...aspartame is poison?...who the fuck is this bitch?...she is obviously not a scientist, a doctor, or even someone who is enjoyable to talk to.
why do you make generalizations about a huge population of people? And I'm betting that she rolled her eyes just about as much as you do when you meet a vegan. You imply that she must not know anything about health, but how much do you know? Maybe before dismissing her claims you should learn more about them.
Sugar-free gum used to have a warning on the label (in the US) that it caused cancer in lab mice... (I don't know if it still does, I don't buy it anymore)

wow. You're really smart. I mean, what a clever remark. For once we have intelligent, beautiful, strong women trying to help Americans see what's really in the food that they're eating, and you accuse them of an ED. WOW! good one!
As a person affected by an ED, how dare you accuse someone of having one with absolutley no proof. Not eating, or throwing your food up is just a symptom of the disease - it's not just "I want to be thin".
I don't see you having a go at obese people who have compulsive overeating, or binge eating disorders.
I'm sorry if the comments about ED hurt you and I hope that you did not feel triggered by it.
I hope you don't let yourself feel too affected by someone who is so ignorant & emotionally diseased that they can think of nothing better to do than disparage a very real medical condition.
It's such bullshit. If that person made fun of cancer patients, no one would be laughing, you know?

Sweet fruits and honey need to be treated with caution by diabetics even though their apparent "glycemic Index" is low. I approached this subject in-

Omnivores are species that eat both plants and animals as their primary food source.
So where are ALL your reasons gone to now ??

Veganism need not be exotic or expensive. Many of us eat on a budget and get things like peanut butter, apples, dry beans and rice, etc. I've found that my grocery bill is cheaper now that I no longer buy animal products.
Of course, this is my take on it. It would be great is more people became vegan, but it's not my place to tell them to.

The last post I placed on other video was-
* Both VEGAN and maybe RAW diets can be used safely by healthy people, NOT those with diabetics or high blood sugar problems.
* Both diets are very restrictive and need extensive research by those both using and those considering using these diets.
* Avoid over eating in any diet, no matter what food you eat. Remember if energy IN greater than energy USED means FAT.

relax baby be cool, don't get your panties all in a knot. first off, b12, unlike calcium, is depedent on an animal source. tell me, what would you do if b12 sups were no longer available? you'd have to join the natural food chain wouldn't you or better yet maybe you and your comrades could start eating cow manure instead of the cow. second, certified organic meat, which i buy locally, is inspected to ensure humane practice therefore your point is moot.
thebeastisyettocome 3 years ago
No, I'd probably be fine since I probably have B12-producing bacteria living in my intestines like everyone does. It can take up to 20 years for a deficiency to develop, because B12 is absorbed & reabsorbed in your body. So if a sudden shortage of vitamins occurred, I wouldn't worry. I also wouldn't go back to eating meat.
The overwhelming majority of people with B12 deficiency are meaters. Explain that.
CatCommunication 3 years ago 2
Furthermore, you can say all you like that you buy locally inspected organic meat, I just don't believe you.
My logic tells me that someone who talks in the abusive, sexist, demeaning language you use and who makes a goal of harassing people for caring about animal rights doesn't make any sort of effort - let alone the complicated task of ascertaining that their meat is humane. Its a contradiction.
Go try it on someone else.
CatCommunication 3 years ago 3
B12 comes from soil. cows eat the plants with remnants of dirt.
if you eat any raw plants at all. B12 defficiency shouldnt be a problem.
also... just because a cow gets to walk around in a 100 foot pen and eat grain doesn't mean killing it is justifiable.
go veg.
:)
696GaySatan 3 years ago 7
you vegans delude yourselves thinking eating animal products is wrong. how do you suppose we got this far without b12 supplements? hey? that's what i thought. the rational position is to take in protein from animals treated humanely but you do-gooders can't wrap your tofu-clogged craniums around that one can you. the sad, cruel fact, kids, is that something has to die for something to live. go chew on that for awhile.
thebeastisyettocome 3 years ago
Hi, you're way off about B12.
CatCommunication 3 years ago 3
Wow . . . I didn't know that! You got me thinking!!
UpTick21 2 years ago
Its quite well-documented that the overwhelming majority of commercially available meat & dairy is produced through excessively cruel practices. Not only that, but most corporate agribusiness livestock is pumped full of hormones & antibiotics.
Why are so many antibiotic-resistant diseases are showing up? Its because antibiotics are overused in both humans & animals alike.
Go watch "Earthlings" before you run your mouth.
Oh... and "Chew on THAT"!!
CatCommunication 3 years ago
listen sweetheart, I said animals that are treated humanely which implies no use of hormones...as for b12, why is that veganhealthdotorg recommends a daily intake of a b12 supplement? we're done, now be a good girl and go fix me a ham sandwich.
thebeastisyettocome 3 years ago
Well 'sweetheart' I've got news for you.
CatCommunication 3 years ago 3
^^ In other words, the fact that vitamins exist & that supplements are recommended for vegans doesn't discredit the vegan diet.
Most people who consume dairy every day don't get enough calcium. Tell me, why doesn't that discredit dairy?????
CatCommunication 3 years ago 2
BTW, your sexist comments to me only show how ignorant YOU truly are. I think you're using that to try & deflect from the real issue which is that I am more informed on the subject than you are.
On the subject of 'humanely treated' farm animals -- you're in a fucking dream world if you believe that's true. There IS no regulatory process for putting terms like 'free range' on a product. It's like the words 'natural flavor added' -- it means NOTHING.
CatCommunication 3 years ago 3
Oh, and I LOVE how many anti-vegan trolls suddenly become patrons of free-range & organic foods when they are out-gunned by a vegan. Yeah, I'm quite sure that someone who can laugh at & make light of animal cruelty actually puts the time and money into ensuring that the meat they buy is treated humanely in life. LOL
If you'd put in the effort to research so-called 'humane' meat, you'd know that its almost nonexistent & thus claiming to subsist on it is totally stupid. You're obviously lying.
