@goddessofmanga YES, love, this song IS indeed available on itunes, (and other places) and thank you so much for asking! ;-) ;-) ;-) It was recorded with my old band, SONA, has always been one of my favorite tunes, and holds a dear place in my heart. Just look up the band "SONA," and it should be on the album called "acousticnakedladyland," entitled, "Gypsy Song!" (pun on Hendrix' album, electric naked lady land...)
So thrilled this has gotten such lovely views/reviews!
@Beltanas Thank you so much for providing that information!! I am a young Wiccan with Gypsy blood, and this song lifts me to my feet, raises my arms, and makes me dance - it has from the first moment I heard it. Thank you, thank you, thank you for recording it!! I hope to hear much more of your lovely music :)
my Spanish side of the family were all gypsies until my ancestors moved to Madrid and then my mum moved to England, I wish they had stayed where they were...
I went on a dream sojourn with gypsy women, all dressed in flame red dresses. we travelled in lands full of mystery, exuberance and exotic fun. We passed through dangerous dens of vampires, werewolves and demons. it was land of magic, dreams, bohemy, and freedom from all earthly restrictions...Ah!!! I wish I could live there forever..

Hi! I've read part of the comments for this video and I have to say that maybe gypsies in other countries gypsies are different but in Romania they are not as depicted in this video, by far. They have degraded to such a state that the country itself suffers because of the gypsies who left Romania for Spain, Italy or France and started committing crimes and doing other shameful acts. I apologize if gypsies from other countries feel offended, but for Romanians they have become a cancer. :-|
I had a page called Gypsies dreams based on flamingo, Spanish, plus we named our dog Gypsy. My gg grandfather was from portugal to Australia, so something must be in the blood. Thanks so much.

@EquuSpirit I don't care what these naysayers are all about. This sounds gypsy to me. I love it. Beltana rocks. I'm going to learn this annoy my freinds to death with it!
This song makes me think of my favorite gypsy girl Esmeralda, from the hunchback of notre dame, even though she is not a real, girl the thought of her and this song brings me back to that time. Thank you so much for posting
Ever since I was little I wished I could be a gypsie, a Roma. I still get laughed at for it, but I don't care.
The gypsy culture is rich and beautiful, whereas my ethnicity, Caucasian, has little culture. And even though I am not blood Roma, I feel like I should be.
So I hope the real gypsies don't mind that I have borrowed your culture, lifestyle, and fashion sense. ;) You're getting me through life, you beauties.
@PsychofanGal the fuck? sounds like someone's not who they are and is a little ashamed of being who they really are. Man that sounded really ridiculous. Sounds like my ex girlfriend who thought she was SOOo jewish when she was hardly a jew.
I am now a gypsy after years of working tword my goal, this song is my favorite to twirl and dance and sing too, thank you for making this video it is perfect
Beautiful... Actually just found out today that I'm 1/4 roma, which explains quite a bit about my skin tone, features, and family history (or lackthereof) My grandmother was Czechoslovakian Roma, and my grandfather was Yugoslavian Roma. Quite excited to find more out about my culture. I know I'm only 1/4, but that's more of me than anything else...
@kejobo then what are you waiting for!!! there's no time like the living and life is too short for regrets hahahaha "dance with use on a gypsy path, sing use to sleep with your gypsy laugh, tell use a tale and ride on the wind, come and dance to the red violin".=)
@kejobo im a gypsy wanna-be also :( but im just a little croation/bosnian/balkan/russian/german/american girl. :/ oh well atleast i can still dance :)
@kejobo As my mother always said: "B proud of what you are."
... Well, in my case I would tell u: "B happy u know what you are." I mean, seriously! I'm French, Jewish, Spanish, American-Indian and I don't know what the hell else, and I'm like: "MAN, DIS IS SO CONFOUSING!!! DX"
... But yeah, there's a point in our childhood when we wanna b gypsies (me included =P).
@kejobo how are u hungarian and polish? BTW if u r polish u should know that Slovenian countries are actually gypsy's by Slovenian i mean Eastern Europe
My beautiful people, my beautiful culture. To those who think Romani culture is limited the culture and styles seen in parts of eastern Europe you are seeing only one piece of the puzzle. We came from India, there are still 2 million of us there and as the song refers - the sitar is the instrument there. As we spread we adopted Persian, and Russian elements. In Turkey we belly dance and in Spain we created Flamenco. Every where Gypsy culture evolves to reflect new places and experiences.
Thank you so much for your insightful words and for sharing your knowledge of the expansion and adaptation of the Gypsy culture to various parts of the world. I really enjoyed reading it, and hearing your perspective on the subject as well. Your artwork is amazing too ... just took a little jaunt over to your site, and will be forwarding the link on to other interested friends I know would appreciate it as well. Cheers from N. California! Best regards, Terri
Thank you Terri, I am very proud of the fact that we are the only ethnic group where almost all of the very famous among us are artists and entertainers (mostly musicians and dancers). Charlie Chaplin is probably the most famous Gypsy of all although few people are aware of his ancestry.
Thank you for posting this beautiful video. I love it. BTW I have an exhibition coming up in LA, will let you know when it is on, Tony
Many people are suspicious of traveling families who love freedom and independence and being unique. Often the results have been very sad. I think it is why there is such passion and soul in our dance and music. It is what connects us across time and distance as a people and unites our individual hopes and dreams with the heart of our culture.
The Romani people are also possibly unique in that no Romani leader has ever declared war on another ethnic group. We prefer to dance.
You're right, and I would like to say thanks for your beautiful rows. Many people don't believe it so unfortunately, you, and they look down onto a racist's manner us, though one of the men better from the other one. I stand proudly in front of the world, and I shout of my throat l, I had that I am Gypsy begot for it, and it is I am left over, and I say thank you for it to a god, that I was born Gypsy.

I think it is why there is such passion and soul in our dance and music. The Romani people are also possibly unique in that no Romani leader has ever declared war on another ethnic group. We prefer to dance.
