I've loved SHOs since I fist caught of glimpse of one. Theirs plenty of videos of old shos tuned to over 500hp and this new one will be easy to push with a little computer tuning to up the boost. Its gona turn some heads when you get blown by, by a 400+hp taurus lol. Can't wait to get one.
P.S. The genius powers-to-be at Ford decided that no one would want to buy an SHO with a manual transmission. So guess what... instead they give you auto w/paddle shifters...$40K for a heavy, large, revamped (not even totally new) platform with a power plant that's only 10 hp greater than the twin turbo ecoboost plant in the 2010 Flex, is...well...whatever it is, its not competitive....Maybe if GM and Chrysler fold before this summer, all the UAW members will buy one?...it could happen...NOT!
SHO starts (STARTS) at $37995....Let that sink in a minute...If you want the Sport option (yes indeedy, you can get an SHO that's not considered Sporty) then you are gonna shell out over $40K for this Ford....No matter how much lipstick you put on it, ....its a Ford.
I guess that means they will not lease a single unit, because at a 25 or 26% residual value rate (that's being generous), the lease payment on one of these jewels will be between $700 and $800 a month. Crack smokin' goin' on ...
The 2010 taurus will certainly offer the SHO edition. ($?) I've heard the base model 2010 will start at around $19,000. Supposedly adding the twin turbo option will cost only $800. (I work at chicago assembly.)
a few year models had tranny problems but not if you gave them regular matinance and driving when i was a kid we had a 88 tarus it was super reliable car i dont remember the thing ever being fixed lots of long trips and short trips untill a tornado killed it picked it up and slamed in our drive way messed up the frame
Agreed. My first and only Taurus was a 1994 SHO with a 5-speed. Although I love my Lincoln Mark VIII, I deeply regret selling my SHO. Best car I've ever owned (apart from my old Thunderbird Turbo Coupe). I am very much looking forward to seeing what the new Taurus has to offer... especially when equipped with Ecoboost!

The taurus was a piece of shit, one part in the engine would go out and 3 more would go as well, if you changed the oil wrong you would fuck your head gasket, such an unreliable piece of shit
I dont understand why the Americans are shrinking the size of really cool cars, for eg. caprice, one of my all time favrt. Thank God Ford has maintained a good size of Crown Victoria, but still my request is that big and bulky cars dont mean dull and dirty, if they are made with the same passion, they will definitely ROCK. And for God's sake dont worry about global warming or Gas prices, technology can be improved....
well im not a big fan of american fwd but if i bought one it would have to be a ford atleast they can compete with the japs unlike G.M. and Chrysler Ford is going to come out of this crisis swinging with good quality and great mpg
The problem with Ford will always be quality- I drive a F-450 at work, and it's fine until after 100,000Km. Mostly transmission difficulties, and without being abused! Too many people I've known had this happen on their family cars... I just don't see this happening on Chevy's!!
define abuse i have what i would call a f450 tow truck with over 400k miles and never had mechanical issues just always changed fluids on time but ive over loaded this truck and pulled medium duty trucks on hills and not had any problems superduty is far superior to chevy or dodge thats why even though they cost the most they still sell the most if that wasn't true chevy would still be the number 1 one-ton truck

lol this car is not worthy of being spied on! i remember my sisters taurus tranny went out right pass the 30/36K warranty the car was still new. POS. get your quality up ford it doesnt make since that japanese automakers quality is superior to GM and ford. Rednecks dont want this crap!
why do they do that to the cars when they (test) them??

it looks like my 2008 toyota Camry. If your planning to buy a taurus, by this one, not the older one

Let's hope its not as ugly as the last Taurus/500. It looks promising at least.

ugly's pretty harsh. I've thought bland to be more appropriate.
